“Left Jackson with Elizabeth for a few days while I was out of town for my sister’s wedding. She was great—sent pics and videos during the stay (including a cute one of her kid playing fetch with him), and said he made himself right at home. He got along well with her three dogs, and she even added a little cooked ground meat to his kibble (after checking with me first). Really appreciated the care—would definitely book again!”

“We will be using Digdem every single time, i totally recommend her. she made us feel completely comfortable and she eased a hard situation with constant communications and pictures. and she is teddy's favorite person now.”

About: I have years of experience with cats and dogs of all ages. I have so much love for all animals and I’m very patient in taking care and getting to know them. I’ve had many dog clients and each dog has their own personality. Each client I have, I take the time to make sure that the pet is comfortable and happy. On the days I have your pet, I will have plenty of time to take care of them for their scheduled time. I love animals and have pets myself so pet care falls naturally into my daily actives. From making time to walk, feed, and exercise with them. My top priority is to provide a safe environment for the pets that will be in my home or a clients home. Its very important for me to make sure I provide good communication with the owner. Before taking care of your pet, I like to discuss specific requirements my clients might need for their pet, such as feeding schedules. exercise routines, and any special needs. I give frequent updates and provide many pictures and if there’s anything of concern that I see while your pet is in my care I make sure to notify the owner immediately.
“There is no better feeling than knowing that your dog is safe and being cared for with the same amount of love you have for them. I do not have enough great things to say, Geoff and Jenny are amazing!!!!”

“Sujanna was WONDERFUL! She took thoughtful care of our Toby and went above and beyond. Toby got lots of love and attention the entire time he was there. Toby will definitely be back. We highly recommend Sujanna!!!”
“Thank you so much for watching Oreo on such short notice! I truly appreciate you stepping in last minute and taking such great care of him. It means a lot to know he was in good hands .”

“I highly recommend Lidia! She treated my dog, Lola, as if she were her own. Lidia took Lola wherever she went, kept her comfortable at her home, and played with her often. I felt so comfortable with Lola being with Lidia while I was on vacation because the pictures sent to me showed Lola living her best life! Lidia is so kind, and I will 100% book with her again!”

“Pam took EXCELLENT care of our dog Jerry while we were away for 2 weeks. She sent many photos along with updates of his daily activities. We could tell from the pictures that Jerry was very comfortable being in Pam's home. I would highly recommend Pam to take care of your pet.”

“We had a really great experience with Irem! They were super easy to communicate with and took great care of my dog. I loved getting updates and photos—it made me feel so much more relaxed while I was away. My dog came back happy and well cared for. Would definitely book again!”

“Kiki had a record breaking long stay (38 days) with Cindy because we had to travel overseas to take care of some personal matters and spend time with families and friends. Throughout the long stay, Cinday sent us photos of Kiki, solo shot or with Cindy's family members, from which we can tell Kiki was in good hands and felt comfy and content. We thank Cindy and her husband Gary for their parent-like caring of Kiki. We are pretty sure that we will bring Kiki to Cindy's house again.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog Gigi received! Gigi is a micro American Bulldog, and this was the second time she stayed with them. From the moment we dropped her off, we knew she was in great hands. They were attentive, communicative, and genuinely cared about making sure Gigi was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. We received updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Gigi came home relaxed, healthy, and clearly loved during her stay. It’s not always easy to find someone you can fully trust with your pet, but they exceeded our expectations both times. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional dog sitter. Thank you again for taking such amazing care of Gigi—we will definitely be booking with you again! 🐾❤️”

“I had a great experience with John. I booked on short notice and he was very flexible with scheduling, which I really appreciated. He took excellent care of Carl while I was away and gave me real peace of mind the entire time. Communication was solid, and I received updates throughout Carl’s stay — it was clear he was being very well looked after. When I picked him up, he was calm, healthy, and completely himself, which tells you everything you need to know about the level of care he provides. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with John again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy sitter.”

“Caroline took absolutely amazing care of my puppy. She kept sending us photos and videos of him while in her care. He came back super happy with his time off ?. I would highly recommend her and would definitely be taking her up on future opportunities for care!”

“Florence is a sweetheart and took great care of Paco. She sent daily updates with adorable pictures and videos of my pup. 10 out of 10! Will definitely book with Florence again!”

“My dog can be a little tough, but Britany took good care of her! She and Her family made sure that my anxious pup felt comfortable! I’d be happy to have my poodle stay with her again!”

“A very honest review: Celeste is absolutely wonderful. I am military and I had to leave on a mission overseas last minute, and she accommodated my needs and my dog’s needs for an extended stay. I will definitely use her services again, she’s a wonderful pet sitter, she’s very communicative and sent me pictures of my dog and an update daily while I was overseas. Her and her family all love pets and are very caring, this shows as my dog gets very excited to see her, her family, and her pets. She treated my dog as if it was her own.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
