“We left Reggie in Ankita’s care for two weeks while we were abroad. Since then, she’s also been helping us with doggy daycare. She kept us updated throughout the trip, sending regular snaps and videos that really helped ease our nerves. Ankita is an excellent communicator—she’s very careful with the puppies and respectful toward their parents. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for doggy daycare or boarding. Thank you so much, Ankita!”

“We would give 10 stars if we could! Tricia had our Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard mix Lenny for a little over a week and it was the first time we had ever left him anywhere. At our first meeting, it was clear that Tricia has a tremendous amount of experience and know-how when it comes to dogs, and I knew immediately that we were in great hands. She calmed our nerves and assured us that she would keep us updated while we were away. She helped our guy settle into a routine quickly and she did an extraordinary job handling his food issues (we sent pre-made table food for her to give him). While we were away, she was an excellent communicator and sent us various pictures of him during different times of the day. He looked so happy that we were afraid he wouldn't want to come home! When we picked him up, he was happy, healthy, clean, and showed obvious affection towards Tricia. We are so incredibly relieved that we found her to watch Lenny if and when we need to travel without our boy. With gratitude, from Laura (Lenny's Mom).”

“Michelle did a great job watching both of our dogs during our Christmas vacation! We didn’t have to worry about them at all! We really appreciated all of the pictures she sent too.”
“Thank goodness for John. The original dog sitter canceled last minute due to unforseen circumstances, and John was able to take care of our boy without problems. He sent updates and made sure he was happy.”

“Christina and her husband Nick were amazing! She had questions ready prior to the booking to insure the best care for my dog Marley, she sent me constant update and pictures, and made me feel super comfortable. I will definitely be booking with Christina again! Marley loved both of them and I’m sure he looks forward to seeing them again.”

“Kia was so great with my girl Sabzi. She was always quick to respond and she put my mind at ease since this was my first time using rover. She sent me lots of photos and videos of my girl which was much appreciated. Thank you so much Kia!”

“Chelsea was absolutely wonderful with my little dog, Ruby. And her own dog, Sundae, adopted her as her best friend! Chelsea sent photos and videos of Ruby snuggling, and the dogs playing. She seemed to love going to Camp Chelsea! We will definitely be back!”

About: I have years of experience in the caretaking of animals and I’ve always done it with love, my family and friends always trusted me to care for their pets since I was younger and i’ve always enjoyed it. I love every part of taking care of animals whether its grooming, bathing oral medications administration etc… Animals will always hold a special place in my heart. My schedule is very flexible, I usually stay home and do online school work most of the time, so I’m available really anytime on weekdays and sometimes on weekends. I will care for the pets by making sure they are well fed, kept clean and healthy. I live in a very safe neighborhood with a nice park down the street. I have an animal friendly household with fences outside to ensure that the pets wont wander off.
“From the time I dropped my dog off,to when I picked him up and even after Keisy has been a total sweetheart….From sending pictures of him playing around, she even went above and beyond as to showering him and washing his blanket. In which no dog sitter as done before. It’s the small details that count and truly makes me want to use her again in the future hands down…”

“Alarie and her family were absolutely wonderful with our dog. From the moment we met them, we felt completely at ease leaving him in their care. They created such a warm, loving environment for him, and it was clear throughout his stay that he was well cared for. Alarie was highly responsive and shared frequent updates and beautiful photos throughout his stay, which we really appreciated. We’re so grateful to Alarie and her family for treating our pup like one of their own. We would absolutely recommend them and would be very happy to have our pup stay with them again!”

“I had my 1 ½ old morkie with Suely this week for 3 days and the experience was quite good. I will certainly book Suely again in the future.”

“Elizabeth & Oleg were great! I was preoccupied with moving during Milo's stay, so I was glad that he was in great hands and I didn't have to check on him. I got tons of pictures of Milo. He was able to play in their big fenced in yard, play with the kids and even made friends with their hamster. it's nice to know I have an awesome sitter for my German Shepherd Dog. Milo enjoyed his stay. I would recommend Elizabeth and Oleg to anyone looking for nice family and home with fenced in yard. BTW BONUS house is right next to Glen Rock park/ Saddle River park”

“We are SO happy that Desi & Mimi could watch our beloved family Lab over the holiday! We know that our dog is in great hands because she is so excited to go for her stay with a wagging tail and wiggly embrace for Desi. We are so grateful for the update via photos and video too! Just a wonderful experience that we highly recommend! Thank you both!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
