“We had such a great experience with Juan. This was our first time leaving Teddy with them and Juan made us feel very comfortable. He took great care of Teddy and sent us pictures and updates which we really appreciated while we were away. It was so reassuring to see that Teddy was doing well and being well cared for. We’re very thankful to Juan and would absolutely feel comfortable leaving Teddy with them again.”

“Paola is EXCELLENT!!! Our Pogi felt the love of Paola and her daughters. Paola gave us constant updates and pictures of Pogi that made us at peace. We highly recommend Paola! THE BEST!!!”

“So glad to have found Loida! She did an excellent job watching my chihuahua over this last weekend. She even sent me pictures of him while I was away. He was very happy and relaxed when I picked him up. Very accommodating and caring sitter. I highly recommend her.”

“Stella stayed with Peiyi for a week and could not have been happier. Peiyi was very responsive and accommodating to our needs and is clearly a dog lover. Stella was well cared for and we were able to relax and enjoy our trip knowing she was in great hands. We highly recommend booking with Peiyi!”
“Elizabeth & Oleg were great! I was preoccupied with moving during Milo's stay, so I was glad that he was in great hands and I didn't have to check on him. I got tons of pictures of Milo. He was able to play in their big fenced in yard, play with the kids and even made friends with their hamster. it's nice to know I have an awesome sitter for my German Shepherd Dog. Milo enjoyed his stay. I would recommend Elizabeth and Oleg to anyone looking for nice family and home with fenced in yard. BTW BONUS house is right next to Glen Rock park/ Saddle River park”

“We left Reggie in Ankita’s care for two weeks while we were abroad. Since then, she’s also been helping us with doggy daycare. She kept us updated throughout the trip, sending regular snaps and videos that really helped ease our nerves. Ankita is an excellent communicator—she’s very careful with the puppies and respectful toward their parents. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for doggy daycare or boarding. Thank you so much, Ankita!”

“Mickey was great! His entire household was very welcoming and he understood our senior dog’s needs. He was great at keeping us up to date with pictures and texts and made sure Duke was comfortable. Highly recommend!!”

“A very honest review: Celeste is absolutely wonderful. I am military and I had to leave on a mission overseas last minute, and she accommodated my needs and my dog’s needs for an extended stay. I will definitely use her services again, she’s a wonderful pet sitter, she’s very communicative and sent me pictures of my dog and an update daily while I was overseas. Her and her family all love pets and are very caring, this shows as my dog gets very excited to see her, her family, and her pets. She treated my dog as if it was her own.”

“Joannie was amazing with Charly! She shared updates and photo’s everyday! Charly was such a happy pup when she came back home. Thank you so much! Will absolutely use her services again!”

“Marisol was awesome! She was loving and fun for my 9-year old golden. She communicated and I can’t recommend her more than this because it’s my max recommendation.”

About: I have years of experience in the caretaking of animals and I’ve always done it with love, my family and friends always trusted me to care for their pets since I was younger and i’ve always enjoyed it. I love every part of taking care of animals whether its grooming, bathing oral medications administration etc… Animals will always hold a special place in my heart. My schedule is very flexible, I usually stay home and do online school work most of the time, so I’m available really anytime on weekdays and sometimes on weekends. I will care for the pets by making sure they are well fed, kept clean and healthy. I live in a very safe neighborhood with a nice park down the street. I have an animal friendly household with fences outside to ensure that the pets wont wander off.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
