“Boo had a wonderful stay with Jillian and Andrew over Christmas. Really wished I could have taken Boo with us but was so happy that she was in the care of Jillian and Andrew. They updated us daily with photos and texts. Really nice people. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone!”

“Paola took great care of Louie while we were away. She sent daily updates and pics which we really appreciate. Louie feels very comfortable and love staying there. Thanks Paola!”

“Monica was great! I was so nervous since this would’ve been the first time I ever leave my dog for more than a day. I felt comfortable with her boarding my dog since our first initial conversation! From the moment I dropped him off till the day I picked him up I was completely at ease. Throughout my dogs stay she kept me well informed and sent me plenty of photos! I can tell he was having tons of fun which kept me worry free. I will definitely book Monica again!!”

“Bayan and her family took great care of Stella. She sent many videos, pictures, and updates. I felt very comfortable and at ease knowing Stella was in great hands. Stella went on many walks and adventures and came home exhausted and content. Thanks so much Bayan for taking care of my baby.”

“Maureen and her family were amazing! Mocha was well taken care of, we got daily updates and pictures, and she was so responsive to anything we'd needed! When I arrived to pick Mocha up, he jumped on me to say hi, and then immediately sprinted to the back of the house (not the front door) cause he'd had such a good time there!”

“Elizabeth and Oleg were everything we looked for and found for our dog, Ralph. When we search for somebody to leave him with, that person must have a fenced in yard and be fine to take him on a walk or two each day. It’s what he’s used to now and it’s what we feel most comfortable with when leaving him for an extended period of time. Elizabeth and Oleg provided both of these AND plenty of photos along the way to let us know that Ralph was enjoying his stay. 10/10 would recommend them if you’re looking for somebody to watch your furry friend.”

“From the time I dropped my dog off,to when I picked him up and even after Keisy has been a total sweetheart….From sending pictures of him playing around, she even went above and beyond as to showering him and washing his blanket. In which no dog sitter as done before. It’s the small details that count and truly makes me want to use her again in the future hands down…”

About: I have years of experience in the caretaking of animals and I’ve always done it with love, my family and friends always trusted me to care for their pets since I was younger and i’ve always enjoyed it. I love every part of taking care of animals whether its grooming, bathing oral medications administration etc… Animals will always hold a special place in my heart. My schedule is very flexible, I usually stay home and do online school work most of the time, so I’m available really anytime on weekdays and sometimes on weekends. I will care for the pets by making sure they are well fed, kept clean and healthy. I live in a very safe neighborhood with a nice park down the street. I have an animal friendly household with fences outside to ensure that the pets wont wander off.
“Michelle was quickly responsive and agreeable (even though it was a very early drop off) to watch my dog Lulu. She sent me photos of Lulu multiple times and walked twice her as well during an 8 hour visit. Lulu got along well with Michele’s dog Lola.”

“This was our first time using Rover and we were in great hands with Kia. She was very responsive, sent tons of photos and kept us updated on how our pup was doing while we were away.”

“Jenelee was so wonderful and we can’t wait to use her again. From the moment Jenelee met my dog, I knew that it was a great fit. The second time she met my dog, my dog rolled on her back and got some big belly rubs from Jenelee which already showed her comfort level with her. Jenelee was very responsive, answered all my questions and sent plenty of updates and photos. She was also accommodating and allowed me to extend my dog’s stay with her when we hit a travel issue and had our flight cancelled. I know my dog can’t wait for her next vacation at Jenelee’s home with her family! I truly recommend Jenelee to everyone!”

“Our two maltipoo pups had a great time with Pam and got to go on a lot of walks! She was very accommodating when my flight got canceled which I greatly appreciated. Thanks again Pam!”

“We had a very positive experience from start to finish, beginning with scheduling and completing the meet and greet, as well as the smooth drop-off and pick-up process. Lucy truly enjoyed her stay with Kimberly and Tom, and she came back happy and clearly well cared for. We will definitely return for our future boarding needs. Thank you for making the entire process so pleasant!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my whole life, from tiny puppies to senior pets, so I understand the care, patience, and attention each stage requires. I have also worked with pet rescues and fostered several dogs and cats while they awaited their forever homes. For years, I’ve been the go-to sitter for friends and family, caring for everything from high-energy puppies to shy rescues. I’m experienced with administering medications, crate training, leash walking, and working with anxious or energetic pets. I work at home most days during the week. I will plan my day around whether I have a special pet visitor, dog walk, or cat visit. In my home, pets are treated like family. I provide a safe, clean, and cozy environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and walks. Pets are never left unattended for long periods, and I always follow your routines for feeding, exercise, and rest. Whether it’s snuggles on the couch or some playtime, I make sure your pet feels right at home. When caring for pets in your home, I respect your space and your pet’s routine. I follow your instructions carefully to keep things consistent and stress-free — from feeding schedules to favorite walking routes. I make sure pets get the attention, exercise, and affection they need, while also keeping your home tidy and secure.

“Kristin was a wonderful host!! She was communicative with us everyday, flexible with drop off and pick up schedule, and we could tell Samson was comfortable, happy and well cared for. She understood our anxiety and concerns about leaving our four legged baby, and really put us at ease. Kristin was professional and responsive, and we would highly recommend her to care for your doggie. Jose and Carolyn Lugo ”

“Melvin absolutely LOVES staying at Melissa’s house. He is given so much love and attention. I trust very few people with my pup but I can tell Melissa gets him and makes sure he feels comfortable. I am so relieved I can travel and not worry about him while I’m away.”

Kacy was amazing with my puppy. She’s warm, friendly and attentive. She took care of Remy as if he was hers. They went on walks and she even washed his blanket. He was a little home sick at bedtime and she stayed with him so he wasn’t anxious. She sent pictures and messages while we were away and was flexible with pick up and drop off times. I definitely would recommend Kacy and use her again!

This is our pup's 3rd time staying with Bayan. We are so grateful to have found her and her family! They always take such good care of our pup and always keeps us posted with pictures and videos. Their pup is also very sweet and gentle and we're so happy our pup has a playmate while he's there. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy sitter!

Deborah was a lifesaver!!! She came to the rescue last minute when our pet sitter canceled due to a family emergency less than 24 hours before our trip on Christmas!! She made drop off simple, we knew our dog would be in great hands when we saw her yard with a double gate and a large patch of grass cleared from the snow!! She kept in constant contact including pictures and videos to reassure us our dog was safe and sound!! We highly recommend for anyone needing a sitter, she’s absolutely amazing for senior dog needs!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
