“Carolina took amazing care of our 1 year old cavapoo! She has a beautiful dog Daisy who was so friendly and playful and other dogs for her to play with too. We got daily updates while our dog was in her care - with pictures too!!! Her whole family was so wonderful - we would definitely book Carolina again when we travel!”

“Caroline and her family looked after Clover really well. He always looked happy in the videos and pictures that were sent; he especially looked happy playing with other dogs and also playing with her son. He is always happy to go into her house when I leave him off.”

“Yuberkis was fantastic at communicating! She sent regular updates with photos and videos, which put my mind at ease while I was away. My dog clearly loved being with the sitter and came back happy and well-cared for.”

“I really can't praise Digdem (Dee) enough! I had booked another dog sitter on Rover.com but she had to unfortunately cancel due to a family emergency. Dee promptly replied to my request and we set-up a meet-n-greet within a few days. My kids (dogs) have not really been socialized much so I was worried how they would react with Dee's dogs and how they would do in general being left with a stranger. But everyone seemed to get along, so I booked it. I'm so glad I did! Dee sent me pictures everyday and I was so happy to return home to find both Hekate and Hermes so well cared for and so unmoved by the whole experience. I will definitely book with Dee again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog-sitter!”

“Suko was very well taken care of during the winter storm while we went on vacation! Val sent pictures and updates daily, leaving us confident Suko was in good hands. He was a super happy pup when we returned, thanks for taking such good care of him!”

“Shaun was so great with Scout! Sent helpful updates and Scout seemed so happy when I picked her up after four nights away. Would definitely recommend and I know Scout can’t wait to go back.”

“Tammy and Tony took great care of Yuki (Great Pyrenees). She spent 4 nights with them, and came home happy. (I think they even brushed her quite a bit--it is the spring shedding season--she came home looking more tidy when she left!) They understand the dog's needs so well. Fully confident leaving our four-legged family member with them!”

“Michele is very responsive and also excellent with keeping us updated on how our 2 furry ones were doing. So glad we found her and our furry ones grew fond of her. We definitely recommend her to others and we will always contact her for our future stays.”

“Cheyenne was very patient with Jeremiah. He was hiding most of the time he was with her. Yet she still would find him and send us pictures daily. I would definitely use her again in the future.”

“Experienced dog family! Took great care of our big boy! Sent lots of updates and pictures. I have a big boy who loves to spend the days outside and their fenced in yard gave him lots of room to explore! They are real dog people and I felt 100% confident my dog was in good hands!”

“Orso had a wonderful time with Caitlin and Georgia! Usually when we pick him up from a sitter he jumps right into our car but this time he tried to go back in with Caitlin. She took exceptional care of him, ensuring he got exercise, was well fed, brushed, played and stayed cool. We feel very comfortable knowing our boy will be in good hands when we go away later this summer!”

“Chelsea was absolutely wonderful with my little dog, Ruby. And her own dog, Sundae, adopted her as her best friend! Chelsea sent photos and videos of Ruby snuggling, and the dogs playing. She seemed to love going to Camp Chelsea! We will definitely be back!”

About: I have years of experience in the caretaking of animals and I’ve always done it with love, my family and friends always trusted me to care for their pets since I was younger and i’ve always enjoyed it. I love every part of taking care of animals whether its grooming, bathing oral medications administration etc… Animals will always hold a special place in my heart. My schedule is very flexible, I usually stay home and do online school work most of the time, so I’m available really anytime on weekdays and sometimes on weekends. I will care for the pets by making sure they are well fed, kept clean and healthy. I live in a very safe neighborhood with a nice park down the street. I have an animal friendly household with fences outside to ensure that the pets wont wander off.
“Jennifer is so great with Brioche. She is kind and patient and takes the best pictures, letting me know Brioche loves being in her care. Brioche is a tough dog, due to his special needs but Jennifer is someone id trust him with 10x over. Thank you!”

“We found Melanie on Rover.com and she was great! She lives close to us, which made us feel a lot better about leaving our dog. She gave our dog such great personal care, followed all the feeding instructions perfectly and handled the medicines and supplements exactly like we asked. She gave us regular updates with pictures of our dog . She has worked previously in a vet clinic so she’s confident and knows what she’s doing with animals. Melanie is reliable and clearly loves pets. We’ll definitely book her again!”

“Laura, Dan & their adorable boys took great care of my 2 labs over the weekend! They were very easy to work with and flexible to meet my needs when arrival time changed. Thank you so much! 💕”

“Tricia was an amazing sitter for our pup, Milly. She incorporated water play, activity, and snuggles for our baby. We know she had an awesome time. Tricia was very communicative and detailed in her care. We received so many pictures of Milly during her stay. Peace of mind! Thank you Tricia for being so loving to our Milly.”

John was a delight, my fur baby PJ stayed a week with him and had a great time during playtime and the daily walks. It was so reassuring to know PJ was in good hands. He sent pictures throughout to show me how much fun they wsre having. I've already booked him for another stay.

Thank you so much to Elizabeth for taking wonderful care of Coco. We loved getting daily updates with pictures and videos. It gave us peace of mind while we were on vacation. Elizabeth went above and beyond by giving Coco a bath and washing his blanket and toys before pickup. Coco came home happy and clean. Thank you again for the excellent care!

Our dog, Coach, had a dream stay with Kristen over Christmas. He was treated like royalty. She handled his food and meds like the pro she is, but also carved out a path for him so he wouldn’t have to walk on the snow. She sent several videos a day, he looked SO happy. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to board him at Kristen’s house. He looked like he didn’t want to leave!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
