“Shaun and his family take great care of our pup Skye, who always comes home happy and tired. I feel extremely confident that Skye is treated as a part of their family.”

“Accommodated with short notice. Encouraged a meet and greet, even came to us due to our schedule. Immediately felt at ease leaving Fletcher for the day. He looked happy in the photos sent.”

“Caroline was a gem! She was very accommodating of the last minute request and the way she wanted to do a short meet and greet prior to my dog’s stay, it felt very genuine of her to ensure her dogs and my dog had a good introduction. I was nervous about leaving my dog Berkeley for a week, but Caroline and her family really loved on Berkeley like their own and I really loved that she sent frequent photos, videos, and updates about how Berkeley was doing.”

“Ekaterina was fantastic with out puppy. She kept us informed and sent frequent pictures. Our puppy had a fabulous time and enjoyed her stay. Ekaterina was quick to respond and is wonderful to work with. Anyone would be lucky to have her care for their dog.”

“Maisha is the best dog sitter ever! She sends updates/pictures often, and ensured that my fur baby was having the best time. He enjoyed his stay!”

“Milena was amazing I felt so comfortable leaving my sick girl with her. She was careful to write down all medication instructions (4 different medications taken 2 or 3 times a day) She was also kind to me - I had never left my dog with a stranger let alone when she was sick. I am sooo grateful Milena helped me. She sent pictures and told me how everything was going. I have already asked her to be my go to when I must leave my dog for a few days. She is awesome … so loving and caring I felt soooo lucky to have happened upon a kind soul to care for my helpless sick dog while I had to be away. I highly recommend her and am soo grateful to have met her on this app - Milena thank you for your help.”

“I will definitely book Tynesha and her family again, they were wonderful the entire time Empire was with them. Constant photos and updates throughout his time. Thank you again🩷”

“Sesame seemed like he had a great time at Sharon’s place! He spent a lot of time outdoors and got plenty of walks and play time. Sharon was super attentive to his needs and kept us constantly updated on his schedule. She also made sure to give him his evening meds which he usually does not take immediately. We will definitely be working with Sharon again!”

“Jaina was very responsive when we had a last minute booking for our dog. He was well taken care of and we got daily updates about how he was doing. Brewster is excited to visit again soon!”

Love how him and his son made our dog feel loved :) Photos were adorable of her he sent ! Thanks so much :)”

“Eunice took excellent care of Cappy during the three days we were away! She kept me updated with texts and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. I could tell she read my notes about Cappy’s care. Cappy also had a wonderful time with Eunice’s family and her dog, Pincky! I will definitely reach out to her again when I need someone to take care of Cappy in the future!”

“Ivanna was amazing with my baby and provided reliable and professional dog boarding in the Union NJ area. She created a safe and caring environment and followed all of her care instructions perfectly. My baby felt comfortable and happy throughout the entire stay, and the frequent photo updates gave me so much peace of mind. She came home relaxed, well fed, and clearly loved. I highly recommend Ivanna to anyone looking for trustworthy overnight dog boarding or a caring pet sitter, and I will definitely book with her again.”
“Veronica was fantastic! As an outdoor cat, finding someone who could care for Juno, with safety as the first priority, but also allow her to retain her sense of freedom and independence was always going to be a tough ask. We found that with Veronica - would highly recommend! Very kind, sent us lots of photos and even got Juno some special treats and toys.”

“Vanessa is a really wonderful pet sitter. She was very thorough making sure that she understood my dog’s schedule, sleeping habits, how he tolerated the heat, etc. My dog loves attention and people and she was great about giving him tons of affection. My Maltipoo was well cared for and happy. I received regular photos and update - I highly recommend her!”

“Jen was super flexible on drop-off & pick up times & extended schedule. She was proactive in sending photos of my dog from walks & generous in using extra dog booties on my dogs paws to keep him cleaner. Last minute I had some probiotics & med to give my dog & she was ok with that too! I would definitely be confortable leaving my fur baby with Jen & highly recommend her.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Short Hills
Vanessa and Kayla have been such a blessing to find. My frenchie took to them and their pup Nolan after the first meet which was comforting to see! They communicate often through his stay, with cute pictures and updates and spoil him with attention. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable stay for their pet, and will allow for your mind to be at ease.

Jennifer was incredibly kind to both our dog and us as owners, and we felt completely at ease leaving Ina in her care. She shared updates of Ina enjoying herself every day, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy our trip without any worries. Her dog Bagle was also very friendly, and I think it was a wonderful experience for Ina to socialize with another dog. We would highly recommend Jennifer and would love to book with her again!

Eunice took excellent care of Cappy during the three days we were away! She kept me updated with texts and photos, which gave me great peace of mind. I could tell she read my notes about Cappy’s care. Cappy also had a wonderful time with Eunice’s family and her dog, Pincky! I will definitely reach out to her again when I need someone to take care of Cappy in the future!

Sharon took great care of my dog over a long weekend! She was very communicative both in booking, scheduling and confirming. She sent pictures every day which I really appreciated! It gave me peace of mind to know everything was ok. It was clear that my dog was well looked after at her house! I will definitely use her again.

Anna is such an amazing doggy host. Theo was so adorable and friendly. Her backyard is absolutely perfect. It's huge, wide open, totally fenced in, so much flat grass and even a patio for Reggie to cool off on. Reggie didn't want to leave when we picked him up and when we got home Reggie fell asleep so quick. It was such a relief to find such an amazing host who treated my dog like her own. 5 ⭐️'s all around!!!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
