“Tom showed up on time and quickly got acquainted with our doggies. Doggies warmed up to him quickly. He spent some time with them as we will need him for future visits. He seems to be truly caring for furry friends.”

“Katie and Zayn were great! This was a last minute trip and we needed someone to watch our 2 cats, they did it no problem. Excellent communication and came back to two happy cats!”

“Jon has been an excellent sitter for our cat multiple times. He keeps us well informed of our cat’s activities and does his best to break through the cat’s grumpy demeanor. Highly recommend.”

About: I have been an animal lover all of my life. I grew up with cats, caring for my beloved Walter until he passed at 20 years old. I have since had the pleasure of my own Lab (now 10) as well as experience in Doggy Day Care where I was playroom manager and responsible for dogs anywhere from 1-20 in one playroom at a time(room combo of an average of 45-55 dogs in the whole building split between rooms and size).I am looking forward to more one on one relationships with families and their pets. I am looking forward to a career as a Vet Technician, and plan to take classes in the Fall. At the moment, I am wide open to spend time with local pets as I prepare to return to school. My plan come Fall will be part time classes and more time animals. Pet care will be my priority in my weekly routine. I always spend time in advance with the fur babies to get to know them and importantly, discuss the pet parents' needs. Do they need special food? Special training at meals for over excited pups? How much do they like to play/walk? Do they like to interact with other pets or prefer to stay one on one with me? I am also extremely responsible in the homes of pet parents, cleaning up after the babies as well as making sure the home is secure.
“This is the second time we’ve used Katrina for stopping by to watch/ feed our cats and she’s been great! Always on time and quick response. We recommend her for your pet caring needs.”
“Kyra was prompt and professional. She was sweet to our pups who are nervous about strangers and took care to follow our feeding and training instructions. We’re looking forward to booking Kyra again in the future!”

About: When you love dogs or cats that love will always be with you whether you’re caring for your own pets or someone else’s. I believe pets should be treated like people, with love and a concern for their comfort, happiness and well being. After owning a family retail business for many years, and then working for a major national bank, it was time for a change. Why not do something that involves my love for pets? Dog walking was the answer. For the past eight years I've been delivering dog walking services to pet owners, ensuring strict supervision of pets during excursions while providing a safe and nurturing environment for dogs with different needs, temperaments and medical conditions. Most importantly, you can rest assured that the safety, security and well being of your dog will always be my number one priority. I'm available for dog walking and drop-in visits for dogs or cats, Monday through Friday between 8 am & 4 pm. I’m not usually available on weekends, however, if you’re in a bind and need a walk or a visit on a Saturday or a Sunday, and I have no plans that weekend, I most likely will be able to do it as long as it’s no later than 12 pm. For your dog's safety, dogs are prolific sniffers, inevitably putting things in their mouths that they shouldn't. I pay close attention to and keep a watchful eye on the ground to make sure your dog doesn't put anything in its mouth that can be harmful. In the unlikely event your dog or cat needs medical attention, I’m certified in cat and dog first aid by the American Red Cross.
“Daniel was beyond responsible and responsive, although I was far away he made sure to inform me on each visit on my senior dog and cat. I know for sure who to contact in the future !”

“Johnny has done an amazing job with our dog and for us. He is responsible, prompt, and has great follow-up with the animal owner. With the dog he is kind, patient, and interactive. Great experience all around.”

“Andrew is so caring. My two Siberian boys trusted him right away. I know everything went well not just because of the notes and pictures shared (which were great) but because my sweet boys greeted me joyfully having been well cared for!!”

“Kathryn took wonderful care of our two sphynx cats! She has such a calming presence they both felt comfortable around her right away, even our little girl who is normally shy around new people. Communication was great, and I felt so much better knowing my babies were well cared for while we were away. I’ll definitely book Kathryn again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

“Stef, as always did an amazing job caring for our pets. She usually watches our energized pup but this time watched our quiet elusive cat. Stef kept up with food, water, litter box and played with our Harper (when she was willing to come out). We also appreciated that she noticed a lamp running too hot and turning it off, or turning on AC for our cat on a hotter day. We always know we can rest easy when Stef is caring for our pets.”

“Nicole is so patient, kind, and friendly. My pets are all older and I could immediately see upon meeting her that she would be the best fit. My apartment was tidy and the dishes she used were washed and on the counter. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I highly recommend Nicole!”

“Kelly is the absolute best. This was our first time on Rover, and her communications were clear and quick, and she did great work reassuring us that our pup was in good hands. Loved the photographs, and really appreciated the time she took to communicate with us by phone and by text. We’re only slightly concerned that our pup now likes her more than us! 😀 Hugely impressed with Kelly - she’ll take fab care of your pups.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - West Orange
Jade was exceptional! Her communication and photos the whole time were perfect and she bonded so well with my cat. I would absolutely work with Jade again the next time I need a cat sitter. She asked questions and got to know my cat and her habits during our meet and greet and followed all instructions we left perfectly!

Nicole is so patient, kind, and friendly. My pets are all older and I could immediately see upon meeting her that she would be the best fit. My apartment was tidy and the dishes she used were washed and on the counter. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I highly recommend Nicole!

Tirzah did an exceptional job taking care of my kitties. McLovin connected with her instantly, and she always played with him which he loves. Ms. Vanjie takes more time to get close to new people but Tirzah was patient and gave Vanj the space to come out and play when she was ready. I felt really good on my trip knowing our babies were safe and in good hands

Tracy and Steven were awesome—our pets were clearly in great hands. They really took the time to bond with them, playing with our dog and giving lots of attention and cuddles to our cats. They showed up three times a day like clockwork and even grabbed a couple packages from the front door, which we really appreciated. The updates and photos after each visit were thoughtful and reassuring. It made a big difference not having to worry about our animal children while we were away. We’d definitely book them again.

First time Rover user and Anya was wonderful. She popped over to play and feed our boys Mac and Mo while we went out of town for the first time since we adopted them. They warmed up to her immediately and i appreciated her attention to play time and she was also very responsive whenever I had reached out. Will definitely book her again! thanks Anya!!!

Jonny did a wonderful job taking care of our two cats for a few days! There were no issues while we were gone and he kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. Jonny’s calm demeanor provided enough safety for even our shyest cat to come out and interact with him! Would definitely book again!

My cat Huckleberry LOVES Jenette. It may sound like a small thing but if you don’t provide compelling playtime, he won’t give you the time of day. Jenette really puts in the work with him and he has a great time with her. Can’t say enough good things. Jenette is the BEST!

Bre and Myah were an absolute treasure. Super communicative, extremely friendly, and so so good with our girls! One of our babies was recently hospitalized and we needed Bre and Myah to help out with SubQs while we were away. They were amazing and gave me constant updates about the process. Highly highly highly recommend!!

Andrea was an incredibly responsive and attentive cat sitter! She stepped in during a time of need and truly went above and beyond my expectations. I felt completely at ease knowing my cat was in such caring hands. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate sitter.

Sadi was so kind and thorough and had wonderful communication. I felt so comfortable leaving my animals in her care. I came back from a long trip and my Malio was so happy, he didn't even mind I was gone because Sadi was so good to him! Will definitely book again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in West Orange. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
