“A wonderful experience! Communication was excellent (including photos and videos). Doug has created a calm, well thought out space that can accommodate multiple dogs - including ways to give dogs their own space if needed. Thank you!”

About: Hi, I’m Jonny! I’ve had a special connection with animals for as long as I can remember. When I was in elementary school, my mother unexpectedly gave away our family dog without telling me, and that experience stayed with me. It gave me an early understanding of just how deep the bond between people and their pets can be. Over the years, I’ve continued learning about dog behavior, training, and responsible pet care, including being inspired by shows like The Dog Whisperer. My goal has always been to better understand animals and provide the kind of patient, attentive, and loving care I would want for my own pets. That passion eventually led me to create our modern Doggy Daycare Suites, where dogs can feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while they’re away from home. I am an entrepreneur working in the health technology and personal development space, along with my wife. I spend plenty of time caring for pets while working toward our business goals. My hours are flexible, including nights and weekends. We now offer Doggy Day Care - Modern Suites for 4-6 hours and even overnight stays! I am very active; I go on walks twice per day, rain or shine, and I am happy to keep your pets active and safe. I am available to watch your pets with drop-in visits or take them out for walks, whatever your pets require to be healthy, happy, and active. We now offer Doggy Day Care - Modern Suites, a beautiful, safe, and spacious home away from home for your dog!
“Our dog loved staying with Steve and Tracy, he got to play with lots of dogs and had a great time, Tracy kept me updated with lots of pictures during his stay and he seemed very happy, I highly recommend them for your dog sitting needs”

“Manuel is simply fabulous!! My dog is 12 and had an ACL tear and had surgery. I needed someone to watch him for the day about a week after surgery. My dog had a cone and a lick sleeve and we went for a Meet and Great with Manuel. He was so warm, professional and compassionate to my lil guy. My dog stayed with him a few days later and it was perfect. Manuel had to carry my dog up the steps and he was so gentle and loving. I highly recommend Manuel. You can’t get anyone better to take care of your furbaby!!”

“Eunice was so great with Mocha. He’s a senior so he needs a little more care and attention and Eunice had a great handle on it. He looked like he had such a great time!”
“It is our first time sent bubble to day care. Darien is super responsive. Highly recommend!! sent lots of pictures and updates to ensure we knew bubble was doing good all the time! Thank you so much for taking care of Bubble!”

“Andrew is top rated for a reason! Totally worth the cost. He’s got a great space perfect for a dog to free roam and family all committed to the care of your little one. Professional, accommodating, attentive, and great with updates / communication. New to the area and was nervous leaving my little one with a new care giver for an extended period for work travel. Andrew gave me tons of peace of mind. Definitely recommend!”

“Highly recommended! 🌟 I booked Yubelkis last minute, and she was thankfully available. She took care of my baby for 4 days, and we stayed in constant communication. She sent me lots of pictures and videos, which gave me great peace of mind. My pup also had plenty of friends to play with and looked so happy the entire time. I’ll definitely book with her again! 🐾💖”

About: Some of the happiest memories of my life are connected to dogs. It started with the big German Shepherds at my grandparents’ home, where I helped look after them, followed by Great Danes, Collies, Newfoundlands, and Spaniels belonging to friends, whose responsibility I often shared on trips and hikes. And then came the greatest joy of all: over the years, first a mixed-breed and later a Chinese Crested Powderpuff became part of my family. Since I can’t have a dog right now, every chance to spend time with one makes me genuinely happy. I love their endearing little tricks and mischief, the ability to train humans and to communicate so clearly without a word. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality and routine, carefully follow the owner’s instructions, and want them to feel comfortable and secure with me. Long walks, playing, and simply spending time together are another source of joy. I look forward to meeting your four-legged family members and caring for them. I work remotely, so your four-legged baby will have company most of the time. I usually leave for personal errands only once every couple of days and for no more than 3–4 hours. My schedule is quite flexible, so I’m happy to arrange walks, drop-in visits, or longer stays, with plenty of time for walks and play throughout the day. I carefully follow your instructions and your pet’s usual routine so they feel safe, comfortable, and secure with me. I never let a dog off leash in my yard because the fence is not fully enclosed. If you’re comfortable with it, I’m happy to visit a dog park where your furry friend can run and play off leash.

“Tammy was great with our Pup Macy!! She accepted her on short notice (thank you) & kept me updated on how Macy was doing throughout the day! Will definitely be using Tammy again ☺️”

“She was truly amazing and took great care of shilo . She was wonderful with her communication and kept us updated the entire time with pictures and videos . He came back a very happy boy.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - West Orange
I couldn't have asked for a better first Rover experience! We just moved to the area, and my dog, Jinx, began to bark when left alone. I was nervous about leaving her with someone new for the first time (she is 13 and has never been left in a new environment). This was a last-minute booking, and it couldn't have gone better. Jinx was so comfortable from the start, and it was clear she received so much love and attention. The sitter and her son spent time cuddling with her, and she looked genuinely happy and relaxed. Knowing she was so well cared for gave me complete peace of mind. I would absolutely book with them again!

Megan is the best! My dog is definitely not the simplest dog to take care of, but she made sure my dog felt super comfortable and happy. She sent me plenty of photos to keep me updated and made sure to ask all the right questions to make sure my dog was well taken care of. Genuinely the best dog sitting experience I’ve had!

Darien is incredible! Right off the bat when we first met her we got an excellent first impression. She will care for your pet like her own. Kind, compassionate and loving toward our dog. Darien is very flexible and reliable, which made our Thanksgiving gathering less stressful for the day. Thank you Darien for making life a bit easier during the Holidays!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
