“Erica is fantastic with Boston. She’s incredibly attentive and warm, and it puts me totally at ease seeing how calm and happy he is around her. I love the way she just takes care of the dogs. Thank you!”

“Lexi was so great to work with! She worked with me on scheduling and was super open to my ever-shifting needs. Also - my dog loved her! He's slow to warm up and she was super patient and let him get comfortable. By day two, they were besties. She also did a great job of keeping him engaged and active throughout the day. He came home tired :)”

“Abigail is wonderful. She is kind, considerate and definitely dog approved, our fluff ball Leo loves her! She is very communicative so you can be at ease while away from your fur child and an excellent dog photographer! At least the pictures she sends make it look like she is. I would very highly recommend her.”

“Trusting someone with Indie isn’t easy, but Syd proved to be trustworthy and caring. Indie took to her right away. Syd is a great communicator and paid close attention to the details I provided for Indie’s care. The photos she shared showed her dedication to showering Indie with the love and attention he’s used to getting and needs. Indie left very happy and I picked him up very happy.”

“Michelle saved us in a pinch and we're so glad we found her! We just moved to the area and needed someone to watch our 2 dogs while movers brought our stuff into our new home. Michelle graciously agreed to take them for the day. Her great communication skills via text while we coordinated for our dogs' care gave me a lot of confidence that she knew what she was doing and was very detail oriented. We were not disappointed! She gave us frequent updates and photos throughout the day and kept our mind at ease that our dogs were having a fun day while we dealt with the craziness of our move. This is the first time we've agreed to book so quickly with a new sitter and without first doing a meet and greet, and we're so happy we found Michelle in our new neighborhood. We've lived in multiple cities and have had a lot of dog sitters over the years (our dogs are almost 12 and 13). Michelle is definitely one of the best we've had in terms of communication and attention to detail. I highly recommend her!”
“Camey was a lifesaver for us when it came to puppy care. I needed someone to watch our 7-month-old puppy post-spay operation, as she could not attend daycare for two weeks. I had a sitter lined up, but the morning I went to drop off Bella, the sitter never showed up to get her or did not pick up calls. I had to go call out of work, take Bella home, and begin a new search. Camey was responsive, flexible, and willing to watch Bella starting that day! She was attentive to Bella's care, and her kindness was apparent from the first meeting. We were so lucky to have found her, and I highly recommend Camey!”

“Emerald was absolutely incredible so kind and thoughtful. She kept me updated throughout the day, which I truly appreciated, and I could tell my dog was genuinely happy and comfortable with her. I would book with her again a million times because I felt completely happy and at ease with the entire experience.”

“Nothing short of amazing. I received constant communication and pictures. My puppy was happy and playing all day . I will highly recommend Tanzania and I will be returning”

About: Just minutes away from Prospect Park, my home is a safe and fun refuge for your dog’s daycare and boarding needs. I have two playful rescue dogs who love making new dog friends, and I’ll take care of your baby as part of my family pack. Your dog can play in the doggy oasis living room filled with fun toys, yummy things to chew on, and comfy places to rest. Every afternoon, we take a nice long walk in Prospect Park where we get to sniff so many good smells and have so many wags. Dog days over here really are the best. A bit about me- I'm a long time pet parent with a part-time remote/WFH job and a full-time love of dogs. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats at all stages of life, from puppies who need patience to super seniors who need meds and around the clock care. Our pets are part of our families, and I’ll treat your furry family members just as I do my own- with the utmost care and affection. You can count on me for quality play time, good walks, feeding, and clear communication including pictures and pet updates. Book with me and know your fur baby is in good hands. Dog-friendly dogs only for daycare and boarding. I work part time flexible hours from home, so I have a lot of time to take care of your fur baby along with my own. I have two extremely friendly dog’s dogs who welcome new friends into their pack with open hearts and paws! We do walks in the neighborhood every two-three hours (my youngest is still on a puppy schedule), and a long walk every afternoon in Prospect Park. Our park walk is truly the highlight of my day, and depending on schedules and dog energy, sometimes we spend 3+ hours out there sniffing, wagging, and walking all over the park. While I can accommodate individualized needs and scheduling requests, to the extent possible, your dog will be integrated into our little pack. This will hopefully ease any separation anxiety. And by the end of the day(s) in the pack, your dog will have made new friends for life! My apartment is set up for my two wild and fun dogs with room to add to the pack. My living room is the dog’s room- it has been converted to be a haven for dogs with toys, dog beds, and space to play. All hazards have been removed and/or minimized in the dog play area (ie no choking hazards, cords out of chewing reach, etc). For overnight boarding, please note that I am only accepting dogs who have completed a successful trial day care day to make sure it’s a good fit before you head out of town. The dogs have an option of sleeping in the dog room or in bed with me. I have a king size bed so there’s space for everyone!
“Doris is a very sweet and caring person. She took a great care of my Molly. She gave my girl lots of attention and took her out for walks. I’ll definitely get back to Doris for more help with my girl.”

“Linyan is great with communication, keeps me updated with pictures and videos. She took Momo for a nice long walk in the park. My dog had an amazing day with her. She looks so happy after came back home. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Jade & Matthew were so great with my dog, Morris! They were very communicative and Morris quickly felt comfortable during his stay. I would book them again!”

“I know Meredith is a great sitter because my dog drags me to her building and can’t wait to go inside. She’s clearly an animal lover and has been wonderful with my anxious dog. We are very grateful.”

“Rashad and his wife took great care of Cleo while I was in the office. They were also very gracious about Cleo having a couple accidents in their home due to her being new to the neighborhood, and being very stubborn about going outside.”

“Jesse was super on top of the communication! He was very forthcoming about what he was and wasn’t comfortable with, and made sure to give constant updates to keep me in the loop on how Hurin’s day was going. He handled my rambunctious puppy with great care and attention!”

About: Hi! I’m Kyle, a lifelong dog lover based in Brooklyn. I grew up with chocolate labs and have spent years around dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I’m also a veteran foster dad and shelter volunteer in New York, helping all kinds of breeds and mixes adjust to city life before finding their forever homes. I’ve been dog-sitting for friends, neighbors, and fellow pet parents for over a decade, and I genuinely love helping out the furry residents of the neighborhood. They’re just as important as us! I work from home, so your pup won’t be stuck waiting around for attention. Whether your dog wants long walks, couch companionship, playtime, or someone to judge pigeons with from the window, I’m happy to provide it. I treat every dog like they’re my own, whether it’s a quick stroll around the block or a full weekend staycation. Communication is a huge priority for me, so expect plenty of updates and photos while you’re away. My goal is to make you feel completely comfortable and make your dog feel like they’re on a little vacation of their own. I’m always happy to meet up and chat beforehand to make sure it’s a great fit. Looking forward to meeting the waggiest member of your family! 🐾 I work from home and only care for one pup at any given time, so yours will get all the attention they deserve! The tree-lined streets in the neighborhood are great for walks and some outdoor time. I treat every dog like my own. If you have any questions or concerns, ask away! I strive to maintain open communication to provide your pup with the safety, comfort, fun, and respect they deserve. I can easily crate your pup if needed (I have 2 different-sized crates I can provide).

Linyan was amazing! I booked my dog’s stay with very short notice, and Linyan was able to accommodate. Communication was great from the very beginning. I got photos and videos throughout the day. My little dog got along so well with Lola! Will definitely book Linyan again in the future!!!

Erica was amazing with my new rescue dog, Howie! He had the best day with her and she sent tons of pictures and videos which was SOO awesome. He got great socialization with other dogs and people. He came home very happy. I will definitely boom with Erica again in the future!

Ahrisue is a great sitter, and we are very appreciative of the diligent and thorough care that she gives our pup every time we book with her. I would highly recommend her, and look forward to continuing booking day care and boarding with her. Thank you, Ahrisue!

Rosana was available last minute and AMAZING with our dog! I could tell she was a dog person the second we met her and my dog was beyond excited. She gave us updates throughout the day, had no problem giving our dog her daily medication and was very responsive to anything and everything we needed. Can’t wait to work with Rosana again!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Brooklyn commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
