“Steven was perfect with our dog, sent amazing pictures and video, and kept us updated on how he was doing. Steven’s dogs are adorable and were the perfect playmates. We will absolutely be booking again very soon. Thank you!”

“Our usual sitter who’s heaven sent is currently going through a personal trial and had to put a pause on dog sitting. So we turned to Rover and found Shanna. And we couldn’t be happier. She updated us throughout the day which made us feel at ease. She enjoys what’s she does and she’s such a sweetheart. We truly found another great sitter. Our dogs came home and went straight to their beds to take a nap. She played with them all day. She’s also very compassionate. She encountered an unexpected event and she updated us and actually mollified our concerns. There is something calming about someone who takes pride in what they do. And that is what Shanna was. And her mother and family are sweet. We will be booking with her again. And again……and again.”

“I am really thankful I found Arianna. My dog warmed up to her very quickly , she gives helpful updates and I am so thankful for how accommodating she is. Sway & I thank you.”

“Sara accepted our last minute request to take care of our doggo Frankie. She has been the kindest and cared for our pup as if he’a her own :) She also has two pups at home so Frankie felt more confident being around his kind ahha. I would recommend her to everyone: responsive, reliable, caring— full package! Thank you Sara!”

“So grateful for them. I was extremely nervous of leaving Teddy because since I’ve rescued him, I hadn’t been able to leave him with a sitter because he’s a nervous dog and it takes him a while to open up. Luckily they were so amazing and understanding with him. Teddy even let them scratch his belly. Can’t wait for them to watch Teddy again so they can continue building that trust.”

“Makayla & Eric are amazing. They took such good care of my dog, we were able to do a meet up before hand where they asked very thoughtful questions. My little yorkie loves going to them.”

“Jennifer was great with our puppy, Sky! We needed a dog sitter while we went out for the evening and she sent us photos and videos throughout the night. About: Ive been caring for a wide range of animals since i was 11 years old. Parakeets, rabbits, frogs, dogs and cats. Im currently taking care a senior dog of my own who is 15yrs old, and I am also enrolled in classes to become a Veterinary Technician. I work from home, so I currently have full availability Monday through Sunday, your pet will not be left alone at all. I’m also available daily for evening walks or drop-ins. My schedule allows me to provide consistent and reliable care without overbooking. I proactively remove anything pets could trip over, chew on, or accidentally ingest. For high energy animals, I make sure the space is secure and free of items that could be knocked over or cause injury. During walks, I stay extremely attentive to our surroundings. I’m very aware of other dogs’ body language and will always cross the street or change routes if I sense potential reactivity or if your pet shows any signs of discomfort. I prioritize calm, controlled, and positive experiences at all times
About: My wife Denisse and I both work from home and would love to welcome your pup into our home as part of our family. Denisse has years of hands-on experience raising and training our former beloved Mastiff/Black Lab, Oconee — a gentle giant who taught me the value of structure, care, and love in a dog’s life. As for me, I’m someone who’s grown tremendously through my relationship with dogs. Though I started with a bit of hesitation, caring for Oconee during his final years helped me understand what true companionship and patience mean. That experience inspired me to keep helping neighborhood pups and now, to open our home to yours. Together, we make a balanced and attentive team — Denisse with her calm confidence and training know-how, and me with my careful, detail-oriented nature. We’ll make sure your dog feels comfortable, safe, and loved every step of the way. Your furry family member will have constant supervision, plenty of walks, and genuine affection while we're home. While we welcome last-minute requests, we also want to encourage booking in advance as much as possible, as we are currently receiving requests 6-8 months in advance to plan for holiday seasons. I am currently in a transition phase, which means I have plenty of time during both weekdays and weekends to dedicate to pet care. My flexible schedule allows me to provide consistent walks, attentive boarding, and lots of playtime throughout the day. Whether it’s a weekday walk or weekend stay, your pup will always have my full attention and care. I provide a safe, clean, and pet-free environment in my split-level apartment. Your pup will stay on the main floor, which includes a spacious living room, dining room, and office—perfect for playing, resting, and feeling at home. With no children or other pets, your dog will get my full attention in a calm and secure setting. I treat every pup as if they were my own, ensuring they feel comfortable, cared for, and safe at all times.
“Judith, is a wonderful caring loving caregiver to my baby girl Bella. Judith and her family welcome Bella with open arms and made her feel like she's a part of the family I definitely will be rebooking with her often five stars .❤❤”

“Ivy had such a wonderful stay with Dayana. She was very prompt and kept us up to date on how she was doing with lots of pictures and videos. We will definitely be asking Dayana again in the future to take care of her!”

About: Hi there! I'm a lifelong dog lover who grew up with two Labrador Retrievers, so caring for dogs has always felt like second nature to me. From puppyhood antics to lazy afternoon cuddles, I know firsthand how much joy (and energy!) dogs bring to a home. I'm comfortable with a variety of breeds, sizes and personalities. Whether you pup loves long walks and playtime or just wants a cozy companion to snuggle with, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home. I work full-time at home with a flexible schedule. I live right by Prospect Park for long or short walks. When hosting a pet, I try to only leave for 2-3 hours at a time. I live in an elevator building. I don't have a yard but I do live near Prospect Park and love a good long walk. My apartment is spacious, even for New York, and guests of any species are allowed on the couch.
“Tom had the best time with Sabrina during daycare! She understood him right away and was so kind and attentive to his needs. Sabrina is very responsive and flexible. All of the updates and photos were great! Tom will definitely be back to play with Apollo and spend the day.”

I had such a wonderful experience with Viviana taking care of my dog, CoCo! From the moment we met, I felt completely comfortable leaving CoCo in her care. Viviana was loving, attentive, and very responsible, and she treated CoCo as if she were her own. She kept me updated with pictures and messages, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that CoCo was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. When I picked her up, she was relaxed and happy, which meant so much to me. I highly recommend Viviana to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to look after their furry family member. I would absolutely have her care for CoCo again! ❤️🐾

Robin was the BEST! She agreed to do a meet and greet with me and even brought her pups to meet my princess Honey. Even though I felt comfortable with her through our chats, meeting her in person beforehand put the cherry on top. Once booked, she took great care of of my Honey girl, sent so many photos and gave me cute updates while I was at work. This was my first booking and definitely will not be the last. She can absolutely be trusted with your fur babies. I’m so glad I took a chance as she made the experience worthwhile. Now my Honey has a home away from home!! Thank you Robin, see you again :)

Kaylee is so kind and accommodating. I brought my dog to her home for daycare and he was under the weather the whole time but Kaylee made him feel so loved and cared for. She truly treats them like family and makes them feel at home. My dog Frankie didn’t want to leave after I picked him up :)

Janie was great with our senior dog who is very anxious. Janie went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable for the day. She sat with him, let him explore, and gave him a lot of attention. She was very thoughtful with her questions in order to really understand his needs and updated us throughout the day. We will definitely book with her again.

Jasmin is an insanely good dogsitter/doggy daycare caretaker. She was really respectful upon meetup and my dog, Ida, is usually scared and shy but she wasn't when we met jasmin. Upon receiving Ida she was very calm. Jasmin said that Ida slept very well and I certainly believe her. I will be using jasmin in the near future
I needed a sitter last minute for my dog and managed to find Nina. She’s friendly and professional, She took amazing care of Ziggy, she kept me updated throughout the day and it was a really good match. She took him on walks and played with him he was very happy and tired when I picked him up I will be booking with her again.

I really love the experience. It was my first time in Rover. I was in NY as a tourist and I was so tense about letting my little one. But Safiya is so nice and gentle and kind that I just relaxed the time I put my eyes on her. Her doggo Kanie is a bunch of joy. He is energetic, funny and warm. Safiya updated me every time, texting and sending me photos. Coco was relaxed and interacting with Safiya. In the second day, Coco just lead me to Safiya's door, wagging her tail. If you want a safe and warm place to let your little doggy, Safiya is amazing.

“I really appreciate Christina and the care she provided for my dog. She was communicative, kind, and clearly experienced with dogs. Our dogs got along well on walks and at the park, but it turned out they weren’t the best match sharing a home, so future boarding won’t be a fit for us. I’d still recommend her if your dogs mesh well.

Emily and her family are wonderful people! I’m very grateful to have found them, my dog Ollie has such a fantastic time with them every single time! I have a hectic schedule with work but I know that when I drop Ollie off he is in great hands! Emily is kind, responsive, polite and overall a great person. She is super understanding and flexible, a true animal lover and caring person. Definitely would recommend and will be returning back!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Ozone Park commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
