About: I have been caring for other people’s pets since I was 14 years old, and from a young age I’ve been passionate about animal welfare. Over the years, I’ve gained experience with puppies, picky eaters, senior dogs, and dogs with medical needs, including administering insulin injections and medications for diabetic dogs. Your dog will be cared for by a compassionate, attentive, and affectionate sitter who truly treats every pet like family. I also have three dogs of my own, so your pup will always have companionship and will never feel bored or lonely. I understand how it feels to leave your own dog in someone else’s care, which is why I strive to be the kind of sitter I would want for my own pets—reliable, loving, and highly attentive. This year, I became a stay-at-home dog mom, which means your pup will receive full-time care, supervision, and attention throughout the day. Since I spend most of my time at home, your dog will always have a safe, loving, and attentive environment while in my care. I love spending quality time with my pup and doing fun, enriching activities throughout the day, and your dog will be included too! We enjoy going to the park, taking long walks, and staying active together whenever the weather is safe and your dog is comfortable and healthy enough for exercise. At home, I make sure the dogs in my care receive plenty of playtime, attention, and affection in a loving environment.

“Iwona was fantastic and updated me frequently. She was very kind to my dog, who has a lot of anxiety but Iwona handled it with a lot of grace and seemed like my dog didn't want to come back from having such a good time Would recommend!”

About: I have had pets since you were little so I have always had this initiative to be able to take care of them, love them and understand them. However, I worked as a groomer in a small store so I have been able to acquire more knowledge about their care and how important it is to keep them healthy, clean and healthy. Currently I stay at home, so I have the will to take care of and be able to have pets during the week and also be able to go for a walk and give them what they need, I am also a photographer and I can take beautiful photos of your pet Currently in my house I have 2 cats that are perfectly adaptable, so I can get another pet and have it temporarily with me and give it all the love it needs
“The absolute sweetest familia and Mateo seemed to fit right in. They were super patient and understanding with me when I had to extend my pick up time, and I am so appreciative of all their help!!”

“So grateful for them. I was extremely nervous of leaving Teddy because since I’ve rescued him, I hadn’t been able to leave him with a sitter because he’s a nervous dog and it takes him a while to open up. Luckily they were so amazing and understanding with him. Teddy even let them scratch his belly. Can’t wait for them to watch Teddy again so they can continue building that trust.”

About: Hi! My name is Sara and I love dogs. My two rescues and I live in a four family house in Glendale with plenty of indoor and outdoor space to play. Sadie and Philly love to have pals over and love making new friends. Dog handling is in my blood. My grandmother was a breeder and trainer for Guide Dogs of America. Because of her, I have experience with pregnant mothers and newborns. My knack for leash and obedience training came from her as well. I used to manage a dog daycare in Brooklyn and run my own dog walking business back in the day. Now I work from home and have all the time in the world to hang out with dogs! Growing up, my parents had a malamute, a Dalmatian, a lab/setter mix, and a lab/pittie mix. I raised these dogs with my father and learned to care for animals starting from a very young age. My father was a professional dog trainer in Southern California and worked specifically with rescues from kill shelters and aggressive dogs. He taught me everything he knew about training them. Though my first encounters with dogs had been bigger breeds, I found a warm spot in my heart for small breeds I met when I moved to the city. I love all dogs. Our house is perfect for your pet because it is on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood with its own private backyard. There aren't too many rules here. There are five steps leading up to the house and five steps to the backyard. If your dog is older or has joint issues, this may be worth a consideration. I am experienced and capable to help dogs up and down stairs, but it may not be the best fit if it would stress your pup out. In a perfect world, we could make the arrangements for our dogs to meet at a dog park nearby before the boarding dates, but I realize that everyone has busy schedules and that may not always be possible. At the very least, I would like to meet you and your dog beforehand. I offer a pickup and drop-off service for an additional fee and introduce my dogs to new dogs on neutral territory with a long walk. I have been doing this professionally since 2015. The amenities in my space, my extensive experience, and the wonderful time your pup will have with us are what make staying with us extra special. It truly is your pup's second home. Hope you choose to board with us! I have pets so it is built into my routine and since I work from home, we can keep a regular schedule. I feed them twice a day and walk them twice a day and let them out for breaks in the yard throughout the day. I have a fenced yard with dog friendly plants that dogs can hang out in. Sadie and Phil are always able to make a pup feel comfortable away from home.
The median cost per day for doggy day care in Rego Park is $50
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Rego Park
Peggy and Anthony were terrific with our very active young cockapoo. Even though our dog stayed with them for the first time, it was as if she knew them all this time. Peggy and Anthony were also very responsive, warm, understanding and easy to talk to about the dog’s needs. We look forward to having them take care of our dog again in the future.

Sara accepted our last minute request to take care of our doggo Frankie. She has been the kindest and cared for our pup as if he’a her own :) She also has two pups at home so Frankie felt more confident being around his kind ahha. I would recommend her to everyone: responsive, reliable, caring— full package! Thank you Sara!

Kayla was wonderful to our Tonton. She offered meet & greet ahead of the stay and even knows how to deal with Tonton's anxiety. He warmed up to her pretty fast with her approach which rarely happens and she constantly sent us updates throughout Tonton's stay. We could tell from the videos and photos that Tonton enjoyed his time with Kayla. We are very satisfied and would book her again!

Kaylee is so kind and accommodating. I brought my dog to her home for daycare and he was under the weather the whole time but Kaylee made him feel so loved and cared for. She truly treats them like family and makes them feel at home. My dog Frankie didn’t want to leave after I picked him up :)

Juliana was able to accommodate a last minute sitting request for my two senior dogs. She was extremely responsive, caring and provided updates throughout the day. Our dogs are elderly, shy and need frequent walks and she took care of them as if they were her own. Highly recommend!

Janie was great with our senior dog who is very anxious. Janie went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable for the day. She sat with him, let him explore, and gave him a lot of attention. She was very thoughtful with her questions in order to really understand his needs and updated us throughout the day. We will definitely book with her again.

Dawson's safety and comfort is always my top priority so having to find a new sitter made me feel very anxious. I shouldn't have worried though because from the first meet and greet to the two daycare visits that Emely has completed with Dawson, she's made both of us feel comfortable. She communicates well with pics and updates, provides stimulating walks and enrichment, and respects when Dawson is anxious or needs space. Her dog, Hercules, is also very playful and good to Dawson. I will definitely use her again in the future.

Jennifer and her husband are wonderful caretakers. This was the first time we left our puppy with anyone outside the family and she loved them and I picked her up very happy. Jennifer was also very communicative and sent pictures throughout the day which we appreciated a lot. Would def recommend!!

I needed a sitter last minute for my dog and managed to find Nina. She’s friendly and professional, She took amazing care of Ziggy, she kept me updated throughout the day and it was a really good match. She took him on walks and played with him he was very happy and tired when I picked him up I will be booking with her again.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rego Park commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 11,409 sitters in Rego Park, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
