I have never used Rover before and was extremely nervous leaving my dog in the hands of a walker. However, Jennifer eased my mind, talked me through everything and even did a meet and greet with me and my dog before hand. You can tell she’s extremely experienced and takes good care of all animals in her possession. She came over walked, fed, and took pictures throughout her time with my dog. I will gladly use Jennifer again!

About: I've cared for a variety of pets over the years—including my own cat for 10 years, a guinea pig for 2, a parakeet, and a hamster. I've also looked after my parents' fish and my brother's Husky, and have completed house sits for both cats and dogs during my travels. I have a flexible schedule and live nearby, so I can easily accommodate your pet’s daily routine and provide reliable, attentive, loving care every day. Hi, I’m Betty, a native New Yorker and lifelong animal lover. I’m clean, friendly, and dependable, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets—whether that’s walks, playtime, or just keeping them company. As a homeowner and former pet owner who had relied on house sitters for my own pets, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your home and animals. I’ll make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away, and I’m always happy to send regular updates and photos for peace of mind. I’ll treat your pets with patience and kindness and respect your home as if it were my own.

About: I've spent years walking dogs and have also looked after friends' pups during trips, so I know how to read a dog and keep them comfortable in any situation. I always come prepared with water and treats, and I pay close attention to each dog's energy and limits. If a smaller dog needs to cool down and rest in the shade, that's exactly what we do. I'm starting law school in August, so this summer I'm wide open and looking to spend as much time outside as possible — your dog is the perfect excuse. Once classes begin, walking dogs is honestly my ideal way to decompress between sessions. Whether it's a long summer morning walk or a midday break from studying, I'll always show up ready to go. I don't offer in-home sitting, but safety on the walk is something I take seriously. If we pass another dog, I always move to the side, cross the street, or pick up smaller dogs if needed — whatever keeps your pup comfortable and out of a situation they didn't ask for.

About: The first dog that I fell in love with was Charlie, my best friend’s beagle. I cared for him for weeks at a time, and that’s when I realized how much I enjoy looking after dogs. Since then, I’ve had the chance to care for several pets, both on and off the books, and each experience has made me love it even more. Although I’ve never owned a dog myself, I have a deep respect and appreciation for them. I understand the dedication, planning, and responsibility that goes into making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and understood. As much as we wish we could bring our pets everywhere, sometimes the best choice is leaving them in a place where they feel at home. That’s the experience I aim to provide: reliable and thoughtful care that supports your pet’s comfort without requiring you to sacrifice your plans. I am currently unemployed and I live with my parents (who also love dogs), so there’s almost always someone home. I was working at Central Park for these last few months, but now that the season is over I can dedicate myself to working my dream job… along with finding a career that goes with my degree. I’ve cared for dogs both in my own home and in clients’ homes. Our quiet neighborhood has plenty of small parks and green spaces for quick walks or a good 30–35 minute wander. I also have a ground-floor apartment with a fenced backyard where dogs can roam, zoom, or take care of their business when a full walk isn’t ideal. When I’m in a client’s home, I follow whatever routine works best for their dog. I can stay overnight or visit in the mornings and evenings for walks, feeding, playtime, and light grooming. My priority is keeping each dog comfortable by sticking to the routine they know.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I had a puppy as a child. I currently own a wonderful senior dachshund. I’ve spent my life walking, feeding, bathing, and playing with pups of all shapes and sizes. I make sure every dog I meet is happy and energized through walking and playing. I am a part-time working parent of a baby and a dachshund with a flexible schedule who is available on weekdays to walk your dog. I can come to your place to pick your pup up and can walk them as long as they need and can also feed, play, and provide company as needed.

About: I love animals and enjoy spending time with pets of different personalities and needs. I am patient, responsible, and understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your pet. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, or simply having company, I will make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you are away. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide attentive and reliable care for your pets. I am available on weekdays and weekends and can adapt to your pet’s routine to make sure they feel comfortable and well cared for. I understand that every pet has different needs and routines. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, provide regular updates and photos, and make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. My goal is to make your time away as stress free as possible for both you and your pet.

Nicole was amazing with Mylo! He can be hesitant to go on walks, but she was incredibly patient, gentle, and kind with him. She took the time to make him feel comfortable instead of rushing him, and it really showed how much she cares about the dogs she works with. I really appreciated her patience and the way she handled him. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was with someone who understood his needs. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog walker! Amazing person!

We had a great experience with Julian watching Hazel, our Shih Tzu mix, and Louis, our Nebelung cat, for 10 days. He provided drop ins and walks and kept us updated throughout the trip with great communication and lots of photos, which we really appreciated. He was reliable and handled situations that came up during our time away, which gave us peace of mind. When we got home, both pets seemed happy, content, and very well cared for… Hazel even wanted to go with him when he returned our keys! Our home was also left pretty much exactly how we left it. We’re very thankful for the care he gave our pets and would absolutely book with him again.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Rego Park. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rego Park. On Rover:

  • 87% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
