About: I grew up in somewhat of a menagerie in south Florida where we had lots of property and animals like 5 Akitas, a ring tailed lemur, a kinkajou, 2 house cats and 2 big cats (lynx & bobcat). I am no stranger to rolling up my sleeves at home or for my clients. I've cared for pets internationally in Morocco and domestically in NYC. As a natural caregiver and as a clinical social worker I have the highest standards when it comes to those in my charge. I currently work remotely on a part time basis as a recruiter and a caregiver for my grandmother. We have a full house with support coming from many directions and I am looking for a way to make a little extra cash while spending time with animals. My grandmother and husband would prefer not to have a permanent pet, so this is a great compromise. As a clinical social worker I take my work with humans and pets very seriously. It's a mission and I took an oath as an MSW graduate to do my best for all in my charge. My home is in a quiet residential neighborhood in Jackson Heights near a dog park. My home is secure, comes with a backyard and is very clean. Nothing would please me more than to have a furry guest from time to time.
“This was our second time working with Christopher and it was even better than the first. Christopher sent tons of photos and updates on his walks with Merlin that were great to receive, especially since I was out of town. He also fed Merlin and gave him lots of extra love. I came home to such a happy, well-taken-of pup. Thank you, Christopher!”

“As a first time user of Rover with a reactive dog it was hard to trust someone else to take care of my dog, but Becky has been so transparent, caring, communicative and helpful throughout the whole process - Couldn't have asked for a better first experience and Aisling absolutely adores her!”

About: Hi there! I have fostered, raised, and currently volunteer in taking care of cats. I’m familiar with all kinds of cat personalities from orange to aloof to shy. I love all pets and would love to get to know yours! Need to administer medication? Your fur baby is in good hands with me! I work full time but that doesn’t mean I can’t give your fur babies my full-time attention! I’m available early mornings and evenings during weekdays and almost anytime on weekends. While I can’t board your babies anymore due to my schedule, I still enjoy housesitting on weekends! I am mindful of doors and windows especially when I come and go. I make it a priority to leave your space exactly how it was when I arrived.

About: Growing up in Peru, I started to take care of dogs of every kind since I was 8 years old. I would always feed stray dogs, and whenever they saw me, they would run to me, and we would create memories together. At the age of 15, my mom brought me a beloved companion who is now 17 years old. I also share my heart with an adorable cat. Both mean the world to me. I've always felt that animals have beautiful souls full of emotions and should be treated with respect, love and compassion. Hence, my ultimate goals in life is to open an animal sanctuary to care for these intelligent creatures for the rest of my life. I am currently attending school full-time; however, I am available for any requested services except Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8am and 1pm. We can always work something out. I have a small fenced yard and one friendly, playful havanese who would love to have playdates with your fur baby. Im always vigilant about my surroundings to ensure the safety of my own fur babies, and I'm equally committed to safeguarding yours as if they were my own.
“This was my second time booking Austin for my dog’s morning and afternoon walks and once again he was fantastic. He follows all my notes and instructions, communicates well and takes great care of my dog. We’ve had such a positive experience that I’ll definitely keep booking with him whenever we need help. Thank you, Austin!”

“Briana has been amazing! Very puntual, polite and great communication skills. My 2 pups adore her. She has also been flexible to help me when i am working late and my pups need afternoon walks. I will continue booking with her.”

I’m available Monday through Friday from 6–10pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays all day. Flexible, reliable, and ready to care for your pets always. 🐾 I provide care in clients’ homes, ensuring a safe, calm, and familiar environment. About: I started out day sitting my friends dogs in Manhattan. When I moved to queens, my housemate has a cavapoo, Boba whom I been currently been co-sitting for over two years. I been the primary sitter as I am at home mostly and am used to the daily routines of seeing what Boba needs and understand him more and more everyday. I have a flexible schedule as I am in between jobs and mostly around the area. I spend most of my day around my house dog. On top of that I am a health conscious person and I love bringing Boba along on my workouts and walks around the neighborhood. I look forward to growing the community! I've setup systems to ensure safety as a priority. In the day Boba stays in the living area and it is fenced up to prevent him from going into the Kitchen and Bedrooms as those areas have food which is not only bad for his diet but could be a hazard. The living area will be filled with his favorite toys and occasionally to promote positive behavior,I will put together nourishment toys such as a semi-sealed container with treats to keep Boba engaged and entertained throughout the day. I walk him twice a day usually if the weather permits which is after lunch and after dinner.

About: I've taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 8. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to check in with, feed and play with their pets :) I'm currently working part-time, so I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I'm available for boarding on weekends, and weekdays after 10am. I make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in their own environment. I follow the owner’s routine, including feeding, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions. I also keep the home clean and send regular updates with photos.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for over 2 decades. I’ve helped train dogs, provided prescribed medication, assisted in emergencies and give lots of puppy pats. I’ve worked with 15- year-old chihuahuas and 6 month old Labrador puppies without any issue or worry. Overall, I’ve been a pet owner and understand how important it is to feel comfortable putting your dog in a new situation. So I’m happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. My main priority is that your pet is safe, comfortable and cared for until your return. I’m a freelancer and I usually can work remotely, so I have the freedom to schedule my week as I see fit. That means I can take dogs out multiple times in a day, without it disrupting my schedule. In my home, I live in an apartment which means I take dogs out every 2 hours. Depending on their size and energy I take longer or shorter walks. And at other people homes I’m happy to follow specific instructions but, as my own set of rules, I make sure to clean any messes I find on the property, if a vacuum is available I’m happy to vacuum hair/fur, especially if the pet owner is away for more than 5 days, I’m always available to communicate if any owner wants to check in with me and of course I’m happy to face time if you’d like to check in on your pet. I usually send and end of day message with a picture of your pup and a review of our day.
“Shirley was amazing with our dog Nori! She was able to handle her crazy puppy behavior with ease, and Nori loved spending time with her. We can’t wait to work with her again!”

“Lillybeth is AMAZING!!!! She was so wonderful about keeping me updated and sending me the cutest pics of my Malakai. She came before I booked her to learn about the habits and personalities of my min pin and I SO appreciated her taking the time out of her day to come and do this!! Malakai clearly loved her and warmed up so quickly. She is wonderful and I can’t recommend her enough!”

About: I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with my family dogs Daisy the Shih Tzu for 14 great years, and caring for her taught me everything from daily routines to understanding her weird little quirks that make each dog unique. Since then, I’ve become the go‑to dog sitter for my friends, regularly helping with walks and overnight stays. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable. I’m patient, attentive, and know the importance of taking care of your dog as if it was my own. Your pet’s comfort and routine matter to me, and I’m committed to giving them the same love and attention they expect at home. I am currently working a flexible hybrid job in Tribeca and live in Astoria. I am flexible in terms of being near either location and more throughout the week. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a clean, well‑organized 1‑bedroom apartment (about 500 sq ft), which creates a calm, controlled, and quiet environment that’s perfect for dogs who thrive on consistency and attention. My apartment is a short walk from multiple parks, so your dog will have plenty of space to play. The space is fully pet‑proofed and there is plenty of space for your dog’s bed/crate.
“David! What a blessing! I was in a pinch and he responded quickly and went right over to help me out with Fred. Would definitely hire again. Thank you!!!”

About: I'm new to Rover but I would love to get some more experience working with all kinds of animals! I am a working professional and have taken care of cats and dogs for pretty much my whole life. Hopefully I can be of some useful service to you and your pets as well! I’m highly communicative with owners during visits/check-ins and while house sitting. I am the type to arrive either right on time or five minutes early. I’m attentive to pets and their needs, and happy to fulfill specific requests (ex: pet needs to be fed at blank exact time, etc). I’m available on weekends most of the day or night or most days after 5 pm! I am also available weekdays in the early morning hours as well. I feed my pets twice a day on a routine schedule and make sure they get plenty of activity! They are conditioned at this point to know when it’s time for food!

Nicole was amazing with Mylo! He can be hesitant to go on walks, but she was incredibly patient, gentle, and kind with him. She took the time to make him feel comfortable instead of rushing him, and it really showed how much she cares about the dogs she works with. I really appreciated her patience and the way she handled him. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was with someone who understood his needs. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog walker! Amazing person!

Carlos always goes above and beyond with my pup Nala. He takes such great care of her despite the extreme weather fluctuations from high heat to cold ice and snow. And he is incredibly flexible and understanding. I’m glad I have him as a recurring walker for my pup

Zachary was reliable, attentive, and clearly cared about making sure Kona was comfortable and well cared for. He asked all the important questions ahead of time including several things I hadn’t even thought to mention which gave me a lot of confidence leaving Kona in his care. I would absolutely book with Zachary again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter.

Erika has been wonderful with Matisse, and I can't recommend her highly enough. Matisse is a very shy dog, so I really appreciated that Erika suggested a meet & greet before his first walk. It was clear right away how comfortable she is with dogs and how she truly cares about them. I knew that Matisse would be in great hands. I was anxious on their first day together, but Erika was thoughtful and kept me posted throughout the walk. The moment I received her first message saying that Matisse had greeted her at the door with kisses, I stopped worrying. Her patience, professionalism, and kindness made all the difference, and I am so grateful for the care she has shown Matisse. Don't hesitate to book Erika!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
