“Christopher is the most reliable, communicative, and trustworthy pet sitter we could ask for. Fritos takes a while to warm up to people but we can actually think that since meeting and falling in love with Christopher, he is more trusting towards other humans too. He’s made a noticeably positive impact on Fritos’ life and I’m completely at ease at work knowing it’s a Christopher walk day.”

“Xiaoying is the best! She took great care of my two cats when I was away for a week, was extremely thorough with her report cards (tons of photos for the anxious pet parents missing theirs babies) and was always responsive to messages. She even brought new toys for my cats to play with, and they absolutely loved spending time with her! Would highly recommend Xiaoying and would book her again in a heartbeat!”

“Nancy has become our go-to pet companion/caretaker when we have to travel and she makes every effort to spend quality time with our notoriously antisocial cat. She’s exceptionally communicative, warm, and helpful. Highly, highly recommend!”

“Bianca was outstanding! I had a last minute need for someone to care for my very nervous, older, diabetic dog. We had little time to introduce her to him in advance, but she made it work. She was very patient with him and took the time to make sure he became comfortable with her. She managed to quickly gain his trust and had no issues giving him his insulin injections. She followed instructions very well and I did not worry at all about leaving him with her. I was confident that she would take care of his needs.”

“Alissa was great, as always! She went above and beyond by dealing with an unforeseen situation with our cat breaking into a room she wasn't supposed to be in. Our shy cat is always happy to see her, and communication is excellent. 100% recommend!”

About: I grew up in somewhat of a menagerie in south Florida where we had lots of property and animals like 5 Akitas, a ring tailed lemur, a kinkajou, 2 house cats and 2 big cats (lynx & bobcat). I am no stranger to rolling up my sleeves at home or for my clients. I've cared for pets internationally in Morocco and domestically in NYC. As a natural caregiver and as a clinical social worker I have the highest standards when it comes to those in my charge. I currently work remotely on a part time basis as a recruiter and a caregiver for my grandmother. We have a full house with support coming from many directions and I am looking for a way to make a little extra cash while spending time with animals. My grandmother and husband would prefer not to have a permanent pet, so this is a great compromise. As a clinical social worker I take my work with humans and pets very seriously. It's a mission and I took an oath as an MSW graduate to do my best for all in my charge. My home is in a quiet residential neighborhood in Jackson Heights near a dog park. My home is secure, comes with a backyard and is very clean. Nothing would please me more than to have a furry guest from time to time.

“Judy was great! Very easy and pleasant communication, did the job and then some. My dog was very happy to see her. I will definitely ask Judy to help me again when I need someone.”

I follow instructions closely, prioritize trust, and treat every pet with respect.
“Katherine always does an amazing job with Sylvester and Sebastian, when I am traveling out of the country. She has taken great care of them on my last 6 trips and will be using her again in the coming months, when I head back to Mexico City.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. For 8 beautiful years, I was the proud owner of a rescued senior Golden Retriever, and she was my absolute world! Loving and caring for her during her senior years taught me the true value of patience, giving special attention, monitoring mobility, and providing the gentle, loving care that older dogs truly need. Additionally, I’ve spent time volunteering at an animal care center, mostly assisting the operations team. That experience gave me the skills to handle different temperaments and needs with confidence, empathy, and patience. I promise to bring that exact same love, dedication, and protective care to your beloved pet. When they are with me, they are family, so you can expect tons of love, safety, and happiness for your furry friend! My afternoons and evenings are completely open and dedicated to pet care! This makes me the perfect match if you need someone reliable for afternoon walks, dinner-time feeding, or late-night companionship. Whether your furry friend stays with me for doggy day care or boarding, they will fit right into a warm, loving evening routine filled with attention, safety, and tons of love! For me, safety goes hand-in-hand with exercise! I love helping pups burn off their extra energy outside during our walks also leaving some time to sniff and explore, ensuring they come back happy, relaxed, and ready for some downtime.
About: I have always been surrounded by dogs and cats and I thoroughly enjoy being in their company. I have an immense love for animals and find great joy in spending time with them. I am currently taking online classes, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I am able to dedicate plenty of time to spending quality time with your best friends. I have veterinary experience from working at an animal hospital, which has given me a deep understanding of animal behavior and needs. I am detailed oriented and thrive on following directions precisely to ensure the best possible care for your furry friends.

I follow any instructions provided by the client closely and make sure to keep all spaces clean and safe for the pet. I am always respectful of other peoples spaces!

“Rose was really great with my cats and they seemed to take to her very quickly. She followed all instructions left, if she had any questions she reached out and was ready to get a hold of and response time was great. I will definitely use her again”

“Alejandra was really lovely with our cats. It is clear they were well cared for and showered with attention while we were away. She gave them little gifts to play with and was patient and encouraging with their usual shy behavior. She asked all the right questions to get to know them before we left and sent us sweet videos and pictures every day. We will definitely work with Alejandra again.”

“Vanessa was sweet and consistent in taking care of my kitty while I was gone. She communicated throughout the entire process and before, to coordinate key exchanges and meet and greets. I am grateful for how much she played with and hung out with my cat while I was gone :)”

“Jeffrey was incredibly communicative, answering texts promptly and giving helpful updates. He followed all instructions and was just great with my kitten, giving him his medicine and playing with him.”

“Devon was a wonderful cat-sitter. She was timely for every check in and made sure to send me thorough updates about my cat’s eating habits and his mood. She also gave him plenty of exercise and sent me pictures after every visit. Walter (my cat) loved her! I will definitely be re-booking her services!”

“Lillybeth is a fantastic cat sitter! She visited Smokey daily and made sure he was well taken care of and, of course, had fun at playtime. She was very communicative and sent multiple pictures and updates daily. I would absolutely have her look after Smokey again.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Jackson Heights
Emily is just the best. She knows how to approach cats and wins them over within seconds. She played with our two, which they adored, and kept us completely up to date with her visits and how they were going. I’m really looking forward to hiring her again to look after my dog. Good people you can trust with your pets are hard to find - Emily is most definitely one of them, and I highly recommend her.

This was my first time hiring a pet sitter and using Rover. Misty made everything easy. My cats are covid kitties and don’t get visitors often, so when they do they often hide. When Misty made the first day visit at first they were suspicious but they actually came out to her. I appreciate that she sat with them while they ate and played with them. She truly is a cat whisperer! I would not hesitate to book her again. Thank you Misty for making this such a sorry free experience!

Nikki is a wonderful cat sitter! She went above and beyond during her check-ins with my cat Lychee, staying long, following my instructions to a tee, and taking dozens of cute photos of Lychee to show she was doing well and eating her meals. She even brought her own laser pointer to entice Lychee, who warmed up and played with her immediately (now I need to get Lychee one). Would definitely book her again, you can tell she’s a real pro!

Sarah was awesome with my cat! She was the first catsitter I’ve had that’s been on time for every drop in, which gave me incredible peace of mind while I was away. Instead of sending me 15 blurry photos of my cat each day, she sent me 3-4 adorable ones— they were some of the best pictures ever taken on her! My cat was well taken care of and happy when I returned. I will definitely use Sarah again in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
