About: I love your pet and I've never even met it! Life long dog owner up until I moved to NYC in 2008. To fill the void of having a pet my landlord won't let me have I love to take care of pets for anyone I know or even don't know. I definitely have more experience with dogs but love kitties just the same. Keeping them happy and safe is my #1 priority, finding ways to spoil them is my second :) I have a pretty opem schedule so can handle pretty much any time for dog walking from 7am to 8pm, weekdays preferred. Happy to take your dog to a dog park if your pup needs to get their cardio! I live in a 2nd floor apartment and I'm happy to have pups spend the night in our very safe apartment and sleeping in my bed if that's what they prefer :)

About: Hi, I’m Christian! I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud dog dad of 14+ years. I live in a dog-friendly, second-floor walk-up in Astoria, just steps away from a park where your pup can enjoy some fresh air and exercise. I work from home, so I can give your dog plenty of attention and care throughout the day. Whether your dog is a playful puppy or a senior who needs some extra TLC, I’m here to provide a safe, loving environment. Your pup will always get the love and care they deserve with me! My job allows me to set my own schedule as it relates to coming into the office, so I am very flexible on going in. Most of the time I am working remotely so I can give your dog the love and attention it needs. I am on the second floor of a walk-up building I which is dog friendly. I’m two blocks away from a park and would have no problems taking your pup out for as many walks as they need. I also have pads that I can put down as well. I’m happy to cater to whatever need your pup may have.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the level of care, and patience. I treat any pet like if they were my own dog. I’m currently working part time so I am available Fridays, Sundays and Mondays the whole day so it gives me time to have some fun time with your pups/ cats! On Tuesday and Thursday’s I am available after 3pm. On a daily basis, I plan around pets’ routines to make sure they are fed on time, taken on walks, and given plenty of playtime and affection. I also make sure to check in on them regularly, keep their space clean, and monitor their behavior to ensure they are happy and comfortable. When caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, my priority is making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while maintaining their usual routine as much as possible. In a client’s home, I make sure the pet stays in their familiar environment and receives lots of attention, affection, and exercise. I keep their space clean, making sure that they are fed on time, take them on walks or provide playtime depending on their energy level, and monitor their behavior to make sure they are feeling well. I also like providing regular updates, photos, and messages so owners feel reassured while they are away. Now in my home, I create a calm and pet-friendly environment where they have space to relax, play, and feel at ease. I make sure they get plenty of supervision, exercise, and affection.

About: Hi there! I’m Sarah. I’m here to make your pet feel at ease, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, treating them with complete respect for your wants and wishes. I live with only my husband and son (born Feb. 2025) - we do not have pets of our own, due to our traveling! I’m on extended leave, so your pup will have *all* of the attention! To ensure that attention, I only dogsit for one family at a time. My home is a second floor apartment, with a private, fenced-in balcony, close to numerous parks for our longer walks. I grew up on a farm upstate, always taking care of dogs, and I’ve dogsat for over two decades. For the past 8 years, I’ve also volunteered at, and fostered dogs through, the SPCA. I joined Rover after moving to Queens to continue my dogsitting. :) I’m very reliable and keep to scheduled meals, medical needs and exercise. Oh! And let's not forget plenty of cuddling. I love taking pictures and updating families on what their fur babes are up to! I love dogs of all sizes, ages, breeds, and temperaments! ******* Important note: My landlord's one restriction is that each dog must be under 60 lbs. ******* I look forward to meeting you soon! Being home during the day allows me to fully adapt to your pet's schedule - we will stick to all feeding, walking, medication, exercise/playing, and any other schedules that your pet usually follows! (Although we may have even more 'playing' time!) I have a very spacious, two-bedroom apartment, with no other pets--just a husband and son (born Feb. 2025)--to ensure your pet's absolute safety. We also have a grassy, fenced-in balcony that no other apartment has access to!

Nellie loved playing and spending time with Tia! Nellie has A LOT of energy and Tia was able to match it perfectly. Even when my phone was damaged on vacation, she was still super communicative about what was going on with my puppy. It was so reassuring to come home to full reports, photos, and a happy and healthy girl! Thanks so much Tia!

About: For 5 years I house-sat 2 dogs (1 medium Pit mix and 1 small but chunky chihuahua mix) and 2 cats (all in one home) often for a few days at a time. I've had a family dog my entire life (a Maltese and later a Blue Pitbull) as well as 1 of my own while living alone (a Pit-Greyhound mix). I am interested in fostering sick or alternatively-abled dogs although I have not yet had the opportunity. I love dogs and cats of all sizes and have been pet sitting for 10 years. I’m comfortable dedicating time to pets. Right now I have the free time to engage with this type of work and it’s what I love to do. I am mostly comfortable pet sitting in the homes of others. I love to engage with and hang out with the pets I care for.

About: I have a dog of my own and I know what it feels like leaving them alone. They always need to be checked on and care for properly! Also, I have taken care of three other dogs and walk, feed and play with them. Dogs are truly the best companion to have. I am currently taking a break from school, therefore have any availability from 8am till 9pm. I can do any day of the week with at least two days in advance. I will make change their water and feed them accordingly. I can play with them in order to get their zoomies out. They will get the best head rubs as well!

Marcela did a wonderful job walking Beau and following instructions as he's still a puppy and training to walk. There is another puppy she walks in the apartment, but although we offered that she could walk Beau together with that puppy, she stated that she preferred to give each dog individual attention, which we were surpised by and appreciated. She took a lot of photos and videos, and we'd gladly ask Marcela to walk Beau again!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Jackson Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Jackson Heights with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
