About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I’ve also fostered dogs with a wide range of temperaments and behaviors. For every dog I've taken care of, I make sure to adapt to each of their needs, routines, and comfort level. I aim to provide patient, attentive care so every dog feels safe and comfortable. I'm currently working from home so I'll be available to your dog at all times. I usually walk my dog at least 3 times a day. Happy to adjust to whatever your dog may need! I keep a variety of dog toys available for your dog's entertainment, and I have a small/medium-sized crate available if your dog is crate trained or prefers having a quiet space to relax. Generally, I try to follow each dog’s normal routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and at home.
About: I have a little pup, Eloise, who is 5 this year! I’ve cared for dogs in the neighborhood and have had several years of experience on Rover. I dogsit and walk dogs during the day and I have stayed with dogs while their parents were away. My favorite housesit pup is Lola the dalmatian, I’ve known her since she was a puppy and I often spend a couple weeks with her. I am grad student currently taking classes but most of my classes are remote so I have plenty of time to play with your pup during the week while you are at work. I can even host your dog for a play date with mine! My dog is very friendly and she is crate trained. We feed her twice a day and she is walked 4-5 times a day. We have plenty of play time and go to the dog park 2-3 times a week
About: I have had multiple pets as far back as I can remember. I have always been around multiple cats and dogs, and love and cared for each one according to their needs, preferences, and proclivities. I have cared for the dogs Bonny, Scout, Belinda, Obi, and Joni since they were puppies, including the senior years for some. I’ve also cared for the cats Milo, Libby, Tux, Tabby, and currently, Jolene! I have experience with very small puppies and kitten (including their behavior around children), and have a large amount of experience cleaning up every type and consistency of mess, as well as individually tailored care instructions (including for animals who share spaces with others). I have multiple jobs which allow me to tailor my schedule as needed week to week. I will be able to fit in visit, walks, and stays as needed to fit your and your pet’s schedules. I have experience crating dogs as well as gentle discipline if needed. I have dealt with difficult or adversarial cats and dogs, and can perform things like nail trimmings, baths, and feeding as needed for the pet’s safety, health, and preferred schedule.
“Sorry for the late review. Eli took great care of my cat, and my apartment was tidy despite my shy cat making a bit of a mess. She did a wonderful job. I highly recommend her for your fluffy buddy!”

About: I've been caring for dogs for over 20 years and have experience with dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels. I currently have a senior Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and paying close attention to changes in behavior or health. I know every dog is unique, so I take the time to learn their routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Whether your pup enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with company, I'm happy to provide the care they need. I'll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're apart. I work a hybrid schedule and work from home at least three days a week, giving me flexibility to spend quality time with your dog throughout the day. My in-office days are also flexible, so I can often adjust my schedule when needed. Whether your pup needs walks, playtime, potty breaks, or just some companionship, I'll do my best to keep them on their normal routine and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. I'll follow your instructions closely, maintain your pet's normal routine, and always prioritize their safety and comfort. I'm attentive to changes in behavior and will communicate with you promptly if I notice anything concerning. Whether caring for your pet in your home or taking them on walks, I'll treat them with the same love, patience, and respect that I give my own dog.
“Laynie was fantastic! She was very responsive and easy to work with. My cats are usually anxious when I travel but when I came home they were cheerful and calm”

About: Hi there! I grew up in Istanbul which many of you would know, is a cat heaven! I love animals because they are honest, pure with their expression of love and appreciation. They live the day as if there is no tomorrow, which personally is something I can look up to. All my life I have been surrounded by multiple pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, snails... now I have two cats, whom I get sad whenever I am away from. I understand how important and emotional it is to find a good sitter when we cannot be around, someone to take care of them as if their own. In your absence I will be a mama, play date, caregiver, and a reliable friend to your little babies. I am a very patient person with compassion, have trained eyes for detail, and endless love for animals. I have been taking care of my partner's family dogs and mini horses whenever they go out of town for the past five years, alongside with my brother's four pawed clients in the last couple years. I'm an aspiring artist working from home, have plenty of time to share my love and care, on most days. I can board couple bonded cats, just as I foster sometimes for a limited time. I live in a two bedroom apartment with two cats, and able to keep the cats separated for the time of boarding. Just as how I introduced my cats slowly, very slowly, I am well aware that it is never a good idea to put them together all of a sudden. One of my cats never met a dog before, so I would not board any dogs at this time. I care for pets as my own, keeping them safe, clean, well-fed and watered, and well played. I believe we owe them at least that much keeping them in our homes.
“Rebecca did excellent! She was very helpful and extremely communicative. I’d recommend her to anyone as she is a passionate dog lover and will do great for check-ins!”

“Hannah is very timely in her responses, communicates well, took good care of my Emmy and is responsible- really everything one would need in a Rover drop-in sitter. I would definitely recommend her and will look to her for any of my future Rover needs!”

About: What sets me apart is my real, hands-on experience with cats who have very specific needs. I currently have three cats of my own, each with very different personalities and care requirements. One of my boys has Chronic Kidney Disease, so I’m very comfortable following strict feeding schedules, prescription diets, and monitoring health closely. Another has pica, which has made me extremely mindful about keeping environments safe and free of anything harmful he could ingest. I also have experience administering oral medication to cats. My third cat, Po, is feisty and playful but also values her space—so I truly understand reading cat body language and respecting boundaries. I’ve had cats since my teen years, and I treat every pet I care for as if they were my own, with patience, attention, and lots of love. As of right now, I currently WFH with Friday’s being my more “chill” days. I’d be happy to take your dog for a walk or hang with them anytime past 4-5pm. :) I work weekdays and travel every other week (only travel mon-thurs) but I am completely free on weekends or Friday nights (anytime past 4-5pm) entering into weekends. Happy to be flexible on weekends and spend as much time needed with your furry friend! My home is a cat oasis. I have cat scratchers everywhere, I have even hired a cat behaviorist to understand what makes my cats tick and help them love the space they’re in!
“Jasmine was a great sitter for my cat! He was happy and healthy when I returned and she took great care of him and paid attention to the details, taking my concerns or requests seriously. She also sent detailed reports every day about how he was doing along with photos!”

“Christa was great- hank was fully exhausted, happy and cared for after her visits. Sent lots of great pics and updates with each of her visits. I felt very reassured that hank was happy and safe in her care ♥️”
About: Hi! I’m Alexandra, a lifelong animal lover who treats every pet like family. I have experience working in a veterinary clinic, which taught me the importance of attentive, compassionate care. I also have three dogs at home and one here in NYC, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’d love the opportunity to care for yours as if they were my own! Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. As a dog owner myself, I’m used to planning my days around walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and making sure pets get the attention and exercise they need. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for pets feels less like a task and more like something I look forward to each day. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by following their normal routine as closely as possible. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I make sure pets have fresh water, meals on schedule, exercise, playtime, and plenty of attention. I also pay close attention to their behavior and comfort level, provide regular updates to owners, and follow any specific instructions regarding medications, training, or special care needs.
“Adrianna Was fantastic. We have a cuddly cat and one that’s protective and guards the house but Adrianna took it in stride. She took some of our advice and managed the situation with care and professionalism. If you have needy and difficult pets or if you have sweet and loving ones, Adrianna will treat them like their own.”

“Another great visit from Sarah! As always, she was helpful and responsive and took wonderful care of our rabbit, Moxie, over the holidays. Highly recommend booking Sarah for your pet sitting needs!”

“Tara was terrific! Super fast communication, on-time, followed instructions down to every last detail, and was very attentive to our pup. I’d recommend Tara to anybody, and we will absolutely use her again in the future.”

Katherine did an amazing job taking care of my dog while I was away. She kept me updated every day with messages and pictures, made sure he got all of his medications, and always let me know how he was doing. Sungmin did a drop-in visit for my puppy and she was amazing! She sent me videos and photos afterwards and provided a short summary of what tricks they worked on. It’s clear that my puppy loved playing with her. She was also very respectful of my home and I’m glad I found someone I can trust! Already booked her again for this week!

I want to thank Sharon for helping me during the most difficult time in my life by taking care of my dog Riley on his last days in this world. Riley has succumbed from complications of Stage V IVDD (congenital). He’s only two. Sharon helped me navigate his hospice care. Sharon also took care of Riley when he was a puppy. Sharon is a reliable, compassionate and caring person. Thank you Sharon.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Astoria with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
