“Morgan handled my little guy so well! He can be a handful but she was patient with him. She sent me updates and pictures to keep me at ease. Will definitely be contacting her again! :)”

“Alice was incredibly attentive and took great care of Finn while I was away. I really appreciate her diligence and affection. She even helped clean up after Finn when he got anxious and threw up everywhere.”

“Courtney did a great job with Raven and Roman during her drop-in visit! I was especially happy that Raven felt comfortable enough to come out and meet her, since she’s usually shy with new people. It was also nice to know that Raven got to enjoy her meal without Roman stealing it. Courtney was reliable, caring, and gave me peace of mind while I was away. I’d happily book with her again!”

“Razan is a very conscientious cat sitter and a lovely person. She went above and beyond looking after my two Maine Coon cats, one of which needed medication administered twice daily. When they were fussy with their food, she even cooked them fresh chicken! Razan was gentle and kind with them and I could see how relaxed they were around her from the photo updates. Very reassuring. When a cancelled flight delayed our return by two days, Razan stayed on to care for my cats, which was a huge relief and I am so grateful to her. I will definitely be booking Razan again :)”

“Arianna was great, very kind and patient and took great care of my cat. She sent me many pictures and was very communicative and super responsive. I highly recommend her! She truly cares!”

About: I grew up in Indonesia with 3 Shihtzus (now they’re still alive at 13 years!), and so I’ve learned how to take care of them over the years with so much love and attention. I also taught my dogs tricks and house trained them myself with lots of patience. I love taking dogs on nice walks, and will give them all the love, snuggles, and care they deserve 🥰. I’m here to be your dog’s best friend/best auntie 🫶🏻. Check out my profile and you can see my dogs’ pictures (first 4) and other puppers that I’ve cared for! Feel free to reach out :) I’m currently a Masters student and working remotely as well, so I am home most of my days to take care of your pup! I have an active lifestyle as well so taking dogs on a walk or a run is part of my routine! The dogs will get some exercise too :) I always make sure there is clear communication between myself and dog owners—keeping them updated through text and pictures—and follow instructions as needed about food/water intake and potty breaks etc.
About: I was born and raised in a home full of animals, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. There has always been at least one dog in my house, and many of my friends have cats, so I'm comfortable with different personalities, routines, and needs. Animals have always been a big part of my family. My grandfather is a veterinarian and owns his own practice, and my dad works in animal science, so I grew up learning the importance of providing attentive, compassionate, and responsible care. What sets me apart is the way I treat every pet with patience, respect, and lots of love. I pay close attention to their behavior and body language to make sure they're comfortable, safe, and happy. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having a calm companion, I'll make sure they feel cared for while you're away. To me, pets are family, and I'll treat yours like they're part of mine. 🐾 Pet care fits seamlessly into my routine! I currently work part-time as a Pilates instructor, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to care for pets. I'm also a professional dancer and performer, and when I'm not on a performance contract, I have full control over my schedule and can easily plan my day around pet visits, walks, playtime, and quality care. For dog walks, I always prioritize each dog's safety, comfort, and routine. I'll make sure they're securely leashed before heading out, pay close attention to their behavior, and adjust the pace and length of the walk to their age, energy level, and needs. I love making walks fun with plenty of sniffing, exercise, and positive interaction while also ensuring they stay hydrated and comfortable. After each walk, I'll make sure they have fresh water, wipe their paws if needed, and leave them settled and happy before I go. I also believe in keeping pet parents updated, so I'll always send a summary of the walk along with photos so they know their pup had a great time!
About: Hi! I am a premed neurology researcher on the Upper West Side looking to support my application fees. I currently have a medium-sized dog named Alfie who I take on long walks everyday in Central Park (only 2 blocks from my apartment). I grew up with pomeranians and fostering large and small dogs so I am familiar with different temperaments and sizes. I am currently waiting to start my new position so I am available to care for your furry family member at your convenience. Once I begin my role, I only work three days a week so I can still walk your dog then as well. I have a 40-lb Keeshond who is very friendly and loves to play. If you are looking for boarding, my dog will be in the apartment as well but I can make sure they get acclimated.
“Claire is a fabulous cat sitter! Not only did she manage to coax our shy kitty, Ziggy, out of hiding, but she was also expert at pilling our other kitty, Ollie. Claire is loving and attentive to the moods of both cats and her daily report cards with sweet pictures are a delight to read. In addition, Claire was "on the ball" with letting us know when our apartment fire alarm battery started beeping. Thanks to her, we were able to get the issue taken care of immediately. We feel confident leaving our two Toybob kitties in Claire's care when we need to be away. Thank you, Claire!”

“Monica is a professional, responsible and very kind person. She took a great care of our old dog (beagle) and our cat (Maine Coon) while we were traveling. She arrived always on time, carefully followed the instructions I gave her , sent me pictures and reports. She did even more than I expected and I absolutely recommend her.”

“Tara was terrific! Super fast communication, on-time, followed instructions down to every last detail, and was very attentive to our pup. I’d recommend Tara to anybody, and we will absolutely use her again in the future.”

“Ody was amazing! My dog has a little bit of stranger danger, but she warmed up to Ody super quickly. Ody was also very prompt with her drop in visits and you can tell that she is very knowledgeable about caring for dogs. Would 100% rebook with Ody and recommend her!”

About: Hi!! My name is Jolie, and I have loads of experience with all sizes and personalities of dogs:) Before moving to NYC I had a high needs senior dog who taught me so much about how to make any dog happy and comfortable! I have so much flexibility in my days! Because I’m a school teacher, my days are mostly open with the exception of evenings when I have a singing gig every once in a while:) Because I offer walks and drop ins, I find it very important to communicate with the owner as much as possible so I have the information I need to cater to their dog’s needs! I also love to take pictures and share with owners:)
The median cost per visit for dog sitting in Manhattan is $25
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Manhattan
William was fantastic with Cozy, my reactive dog in active training. He followed his protocols to a T, kept him calm through a minor trigger, made sure he stayed hydrated on a warm day, and left a detailed note after the visit. Exactly the kind of attentive, communicative walker a dog with special needs requires. Highly recommend!

Alena was amazing with Binx, she shared a lot of photos and I’m sure Binx loved having her company. Alena also really helped me out because I did a last minute booking. She is professional, punctual, and a real animal whisperer. I will definitely be booking her again!

Leta is a life saver for our family! We have two dogs, one is an 8 month old puppy and a 9 year old dachshund with mobility issues and she handles them both with love and care. We trust her implicitly and she treats our pets like they are family-thank you, Leta!

Joseph did a drop-in visit for my dog, Lobster, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. He was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about making sure Lobster was comfortable and well looked after. I appreciated the updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Lobster seemed happy, relaxed, and well cared for when I got home, which says a lot. It's obvious that Joseph has a natural way with dogs and takes his responsibilities seriously. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, and I would gladly book with him again.

Loretto was wonderful with my dog, Mapache. He can be a bit of a troublemaker and doesn’t always warm up to new sitters, so I was pleasantly surprised by how calm and comfortable he was during Loretto’s visit. Loretto was patient, reliable, and clearly has a great way with dogs. I would happily book with him again!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Manhattan stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manhattan choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Manhattan with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
