About: I’ve been around horses, cows, chickens, cats and dogs since I was young! My childhood dog was an American Eskimo whom I loved so dearly! I have availability during the week which gives me time to care for your pet and I’m able to give them my full undivided attention. I have no pets at my apartment but I plan on it once I have a house with enough space to create a safe space for them. I will consider how your pet is taken care of, your expectations and respect them and your boundaries when caring for a pet.

About: I’ve been taking care of my dog since she was a tiny puppy, and I treat her like my own little child. I do the same for other people’s pets too - I love to give them food, give them some cuddles, and make sure they’re happy. And always remember to give your furry friend a special treat! As a remote worker, I find flexibility in my work schedule. I enjoy incorporating outdoor walks into my daily routine, which allows me to connect with nature and exercise while having the flexibility to do so with my dog. Through play, companionship, and nourishment. Will stay by the dog and keep the place organized and clean so it is a fair space for the house and the dogs

About: I’ve been taking care of cats when I was teenagers. My first cat was 17 years old. I just got my new cat, I bought everything for my cat. I am good with keeping everything as clean as possible, vacuum everyday. I also have experience taking care of small dogs. I took care of my step daughter's two Yorkshire Terrier dogs when she was travelling, One of them is more than 10 years old. I fed the dogs and clean the dog's face, comb their hair, play with them. It was fun time. They like me more than my husband, haha. I’m free after work, I work at Wall street Manhattan, living near Fort Lee NJ. I will be available after work Monday to Friday, weekends will be more flexible. I bought everything automatic for my cat. The automatic litter box, I clean it every day. Water fountain has filter, I wash and change the water every 3 to 4 days with boiled water (cooling down) due to my cat only has one kidney. Cat food, I feed him with wet can food twice a day and with dry food automatic feeding. I mix different cat food due to his sensitive stomach.

About: Hi my name is Elle. I am an animal lover, advocate, and a volunteer at a local animal shelter. I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life, and have had a natural affinity for all kinds of animals. I have boarded dogs for both short-term and long-term stays (months to years). I understand the unique needs of different breeds and adjust care accordingly. I understand dog behavior, and needs-your dog is family, and I treat them as such. Full-Time, Dog Care - A Safe, Loving Home for Your Dog. Dog boarding is my full-time work and passion —caring for dogs is not a side job but a choice l've committed to for years. I provide round-the-clock care, ensuring every dog in my home is safe, happy, and well-cared for. I board a maximum of 1 dog at a time. My own dog is calm, friendly, and never interfere with your dog's care. All walks are on-leash, and I do not socialize your dog with outside dogs or humans unless instructed. Photo updates at least 3 times daily - so you can feel connected to your dog while you're away. I strictly follow your instructions, including feeding schedules, play preferences, and routines and only feed the food you provide, ensuring your dog's diet remains consistent.

About: I’ve had all sorts of pets since I was a little girl. Mostly dogs and cats in my adult years. I haven’t gotten a new dog since I had to say goodbye to my last furry friend. Now I want to have part time pets to love I’m a photographer and a design coordinator who works outside my home a few weeks a year and spends most time home editing photos, or playing with my two grandsons. I have a nice fenced in yard and a beautiful park across the street. I live in a quiet neighborhood with nice streets for walks. There is also a dog park close by.

About: I have an 18-year-old senior pup who is still as active and playful as when he was a puppy, and I have been his main caretaker since we adopted him when I was 10-years-old, so I have plenty of experience caring for dogs and prioritize keeping safe and happy! We also had other dogs growing up, so I am used to caring for multiple dogs, dogs of various ages and sizes, and dogs of all energy levels. Specifically, as my doggo has aged, I have a lot of experience with medicine routines, slower walks, attention to health details, and all other requirements of caring for senior dogs. In college, I would housesit for families with all kinds of pets (including rabbits, geese and chickens!) and this helped me pay part of my school costs. However, I enjoyed caring for other's pets so much, I have continued to do so for years after college! I love getting to know new furry friends and making sure they are happy, exercised, well-fed, and enjoying themselves while their parents are away! I am currently working part-time, and often only for a few hours in the evening, so I have lots of time and flexibility to care for you pup, prioritizing being available for prime walking hours in the sunshine! I am willing to work around my part-time hours to meet your dog's routine needs. I am willing to care for the dogs in your home so they are comfortable in their own spaces and can generally keep their normal routines. I am flexible and willing to follow any instructions about your space that you provide.

My journey began at a kennel-free doggy daycare, where I honed my hands-on skills in nurturing and safeguarding dogs. Prior to my transition to Rover, I participated in a boarding school program known as Hands-to-Work, aligning with the Shaker lifestyle. As a dedicated dog walker, I take pride in my approach, which is distinguished by patience and a profound understanding of canine behavior. I firmly believe in the importance of recognizing each dog’s unique needs and preferences. During our walks, I prioritize creating an environment where it is truly their walk—I serve as a guiding and protective presence, never resorting to pulling or force. My commitment to gentle handling and respect for the individuality of each canine companion sets me apart in the field. Ensuring the well-being of every dog under my care is paramount. I am dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that emphasizes comfort, safety, and companionship. Within my capacity as a pet care professional, I emphasize flexibility, reliability, and trustworthiness as cornerstones of my dedication to excellence. About: Hi there! I’ve always loved animals and am lucky enough to have a cat of my own, Kitty, who has been with me for 6 years! I know how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby, but rest assured, I will love them as if they are my own! Your pet will be in good hands with me and I’m excited for the chance to meet them! Pet care is a priority in my schedule! I am home most of the week and during the day so I’m very flexible on time. I love to stay active so also willing to do frequent walks or play outside with your pet. I have one cat in my home and am very careful with ensuring her safety and health - she is well-maintained and clean (e.g., brushing, cleaning teeth, trimming nails) and spayed. Just let me know if your pet has any specific needs, allergies, or anything in particular to be aware of! I’m someone who loves to take photos of my cat so if you want frequent updates on your pet, I’m happy to do that too!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Cliffside Park stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cliffside Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Cliffside Park with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cliffside Park. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
