“Keunyung sent me regular updates with lots of photos which I really appreciated. She even sent me a schedule of when my dog ate and went out. It was very kind of her to make dog treats for her on the holidays. I would highly recommend her.”

“Michael & his wife did a great job at taking care of Ollie. Despite a hiccup on his last day, I think he had a great time being with them. A lot of photos were sent to me and my dog came home happy :)”
“I’ve had a great experience with Vera dog-sitting my big boy Pit-bull. She was communicative, I had no problem booking with her and then talking over all the details about my dog and his needs. Vera took a wonderful care of him while I was away. I’ll certainly book Vera again! She’s a true dog-lover and a caring and responsible person. Pleasure to deal with people like her!”

“Denise offers a loving, attentive and relaxing environment for her canine guests. At her home, she has a spacious deck and backyard (fenced), many types of toys, a spacious kitchen / living room, and a large basement. Most importantly, she carefully evaluates the temperament of each dog, to tailor activities and sleeping arrangements. I can't recmmend Denise more highly!”

“Aydrian is very knowledgable about dogs. He felt out Dahlia and figured out the best way to handle her. He also gave us great tips on how to walk/train her so she doesn't pull. He was very attentive and kept us abreast of everything that was going on, including photos. The last time we used Rover she was a puppy, but now that she's an adult she has changed, it was our fault for not noticing and being clear that she is shy and nervous at first. I highly recommend Aydrian.”

“Our dog Rudy stayed with Ivette & Gonzalo for a week and he looked happy and stress-free when we picked him up. I’m sure he also enjoyed having another dog to hang out with. I would rebook with Ivette & Gonzalo without hesitation.”

“My dogs were very happy after staying with Symone. She sent updates twice a day with a lot of pictures. She asked lots of questions about caring for them.”
“Vanessa did a wonderful job for my dog Scooter. This was the first time for him being really truly separated from his family and boarded. He is usually with his older brother Thunder if we left him. I was worried Scooter would be scared, lonely and have big separation anxiety. Vanessa assured me she would take care of him during my 4 day trip. She followed all the instructions I gave for him (feeding, walking, interactions etc), and used the supplies I provided (blankets, food, diapers, etc.) accordingly. She provided me with constant updates and photos to show Scooter was doing okay and he was in good hands, and turned out to be a great co-worker for her while she was doing work from home! ? Thank you Vanessa for taking care of Scooter during my trip. Will definitely be back if I need Scooter boarded again for a trip!”

“Maelee and Jacob are the best!!! They welcomed Smokey with open arms and were so kind. Maelee/Jacob were extremely responsive and were great when it came to making sure Smokey got all of her daily meds (she’s high maintenance lol) I am excited to have them as a resource for future trips/walks/as extra support!”

“As a first time Rover user, I am appreciative of the service and very happy with the care that Amanda and her family gave to my Skye. Amanda was very communicative via both messages and photos of my dog throughout the day. My mind was at ease and I felt comfortable and confident in the care Skye was receiving. I will definitely be a return customer and am glad to have found a committed caregiver in Amanda.”

“Heather was an absolute delight to work with! Quick, clear, and helpful. It was our first time using a sitting service and we were understandably anxious. Heather made us feel so comfortable and from the frequent updates we got on our pup, he was clearly having the time of his life!!! We could not recommend her enough!”

“Alanis and Marco were wonderful to work with. They were very professional and made the whole process smooth and easy. Elsa seemed very comfortable during her stay, and I appreciated that they have their own dog, Zoro, so she was able to socialize and spend time with another dog. It was clear they took good care of her, and the thoughtful note and toy they left were such a sweet surprise. I would definitely trust them to watch Elsa again”

“Alfie absolutely loved his stay with Hawthorne and Wei. This was my first time leaving Alfie with a sitter and Hawthorne and Wei made me feel so comfortable. They sent multiple updates a day with pictures and videos. They treated him as their own and he looked so happy when I picked him up! I felt so confident and I will absolutely use them the next time I need a sitter!”

“Angie did a wonderful job taking care of our 5 1/2 month old puppy while we were overseas for 2 weeks. Of course we were hesitant to leave Marley our goldendoodle pup with a "virtual" stranger but Angie reassured us by communicating daily via texts and photos that all was well. Communication was easy. Marley clearly enjoyed his visits to various parks and Angie's caring and calm demeanor. I recommend Angie as a dog sitter, walker, etc.”

“Paloma was an excellent dog sitter for our Mia! She was reliable, thoughtful, and caring when it came to responding to us and sending pictures, videos and general updates daily. She went above and beyond when we were in a pinch to find a sitter and we would use her over and over again moving forward- highly recommend!”

“We had such an excellent experience having Pebbles stay with Annett! Overall I only have great things to say; she followed our preferred care instructions, kept in touch just the right amount and was super flexible on drop off and pick up. Would love to use again and highly recommend!”

“Susan was great! She was super communicative and kind. I was very much at ease with Coda in her care. I’m so glad I found her and will definitely reach out for future stays!”

“Angela was an incredible sitter to my cat Mango! She kept me updated regularly, and treated Mango with lots of care during his stay. She was very thoughtful and kind person upon meeting her, and she is a pet parent herself therefore you can tell she is great with pets 😊 Very thankful I was able to get connected with Angela!”

Beyza was wonderful from the very beginning. I contacted her on short notice because of a business trip, and she responded quickly with detailed information about her availability and scheduling. She made the whole process easy and gave me confidence that my dog would be well cared for. Before the stay, she took the time to learn about my dog's daily routine, meals, treats, walks, and habits so he would feel as comfortable as possible. She also let me know what supplies she already had at home and what I should bring, which made preparing much easier. During the stay, Beyza followed my dog's routine carefully and sent me lots of photos and updates. It was such a relief to see how happy and comfortable my dog looked while I was away. When my drop-off and pick-up times unexpectedly changed, she was very understanding and flexible, and did her best to accommodate my schedule. I would definitely book with Beyza again in the future. Thank you for taking such great care of my dog—I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!

Jessica was absolutely fabulous. She took amazing care of our 10 year old mini poodle Copper. Constant walks and play time with great photo updates. He wasn't left alone for extended periods of time. We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. We will definitely be using Jessica again and again.

Kelly and Frank were amazing! They took care of our 7-month old, high-energy puppy for an extended stay of 2.5 weeks, and we had complete peace of mind that she was in great hands. They sent up an update and photo pretty much every day and they were always quick to respond about any questions we had. Our puppy seemed to have a great time with both Kelly and Frank and their dog, and I'd absolutely book them again.

Shanese was the very first cat sitter for my cat, so I was naturally a little nervous. She was incredibly reliable, professional, and patient from start to finish. My cat was very stressed being in a new environment, and despite a difficult first night, she took the time to make him feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Her place is a true cat paradise, filled with toys, and everything a cat could possibly need to have fun and be like home. She put a lot of thoughts and care she puts into creating the perfect environment for her guests. I'm already rebooking Shanese for a longer stay this summer because I know my cat will be happy, well cared for, and in the best hands.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
