“Georgia is a fantastic sitter! I took a much-needed vacation and needed someone to check on my cat, who had recently been to the vet a few times for a minor medical condition. Georgia was extremely attentive to his feeding and play schedule. She updated me with daily pics and messages about his activities. It really relieved my anxiety about leaving him at home. Don't think twice about booking Georgia if she is available. Highly recommended!”

About: I care deeply for animals and feel pure joy and a sense of purpose when I exercise them. Their mental state and well-being is just as important as ours, but it's up to us humans to maintain it! I grew up with labs, a golden retriever and an Irish wolfhound. Several neighbors, friends and family members have relied on me for drop ins, walks and weekend stays for their dogs and cats since I was a young teen. I also volunteered and later worked at an educational nature center for kids in my hometown and have experience handling and feeding birds, rabbits and reptiles. I am available most weeknight evenings (5:30 pm and after) and flexible Fri-Sun. You can always send a request even if it shows I'm unavailable, I will always try to shift things around in my schedule for Rover if I can! I will respond quickly too. I am unable to house animals in my current space, but when I introduce myself to a new animal in his/her home, I will let them approach me and get down at their level. I have learned that body language and tone very much matters.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Astoria
Hi Yejin did a great job of taking care of my babies while I was out of town. I was very anxious because it was my first time using Rover as my kitties’ caretaker. I had a slew of things that I needed taken care of and she went above and beyond to meet mine and my kitties’ needs. She also added her own extra touches. It’s worth mentioning that she already changed mine and the kitties’ lives because she shared knowledge about both my cat breeds and understood their dispositions immediately. She explained the value of appropriate stimulation to decrease kitty stress and anxiety, delivering her own brand of care.

Shanese did a fabulous job for us taking care of our 3 cats with different personalities and different needs. She was very dependable and inventive in responding to any problems along the way. She even brought her own toys to entertain the cats! Shanese is a real cat person. 🐈⬛🐈 She was the perfect choice to care for Karma and Leo and Pancakes. We are grateful to her and highly recommend Shanese!

Simon took fantastic care of our cat while we were away. You can tell he's very experienced and cares ao much about what he does. He was communicative, timely and went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and safe - highly recommend and we will definitely rebook. Thanks Simon!!

We absolutely loved having Elizabeth care for our cats! She was so communicative and thoughtful throughout our trip, and her detailed updates and tons of photos gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She followed all of our instructions and took such great care of the cats, who clearly loved her! We felt completely comfortable and relaxed knowing they were in such good hands. We would definitely love to have Elizabeth sit for us again!

I’m so grateful to Chloe for taking amazing care of my two cats. She was accommodating and communicative from the start, and I’ve never felt more at ease being away. One of my cats is a finicky eater, and Chloe used different methods to make sure she ate. She sent lots of updates and photos from each visit, and it was reassuring to see that both cats wanted to be near her. They can be anxious, but were calm and secure when I got back. I highly recommend Chloe and hope she is available to take care of the cats again!

AMAZING AGAIN! Booked with Lisa for a long period of travel (9 days), and she did an amazing job taking care of our bunny! She follows all directions, communicates seamlessly, and took many photos of our rabbit. I'd highly recommend her for anyone who needs their pet taken care of for drop-in visits. She always makes us feel at ease that our bunny is well taken care of!! Would definitely recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
