“Eleni was WONDERFUL with my 2 cats!!! I will definitely be hiring her again!!! Mochi has diabetes and requires an insulin injection every 12 hours in addition to another medication twice a week and Eleni was happy to learn and able to give Mochi his meds which can be a bit daunting and sometimes difficult depending on his mood. but Eleni was attentive and really took the time to learn and care for him properly! my other cat Kumo is a scaredy baby and rarely shows his face around people but Eleni was patient and really put effort into getting him comfortable with her. Eleni updated me with great details about how they’re doing and food. the weather was changing every day from being very cold and then very hot and Eleni proactively adjusted the thermostat accordingly when needed! she would turn on cat TV every couple days AND put treats in their treat games daily so they would stay occupied during the day. Mochi had an accident and Eleni didn't hesitate to clean it up and take out the trash. she really took care of everything!”

“Ambur was wonderful and so laid back with all my requests! Very communicative, kept the place sparkling, and my Jupiter clearly had a great time! Definitely will book again!”

“Malia is the best!! My cats warmed right up to her, she was super communicative and professional. Sent great photos and really spent quality time with the babies :) will absolutely be using her every chance we get!!”

“This was my first time using Rover, and can genuinely say Arli made it a great experience. She’s super communicative, kind, respectful and now my cat’s new bff! Arli showed up promptly for all visits, gave my cat lots of attention and would send me pictures everyday while I was away. Could not have asked for a better experience. HIGHLY recommend :)”

“Raul did an excellent job pet sitting for Gunner. He made sure to follow instructions my husband and I gave him, which gave us a peace of mind. When something wasn’t completely clear, he checked in with me, I really appreciated that level of communication and care. It’s safe to say he’s doing a great job getting to know both us and Gunner, and we feel comfortable trusting him with our dog. Highly recommend!”

“Jenna was fantastic! She was communicative, flexible, and reliable. My cat was left in excellent hands over the holidays and was happy when I returned. I got pictures every day and was comforted knowing she was well taken care of in my absence. I would gladly book with Jenna again!”

“Austin was great! Took incredible care of my senior cat. Very organized and I felt relieved knowing that they had everything under control. Would definitely recommend and book again!”

“Anne is truly the best! She took such incredible care of my cats while I was away on vacation. She kept me updated with thoughtful messages and photos the whole time. Coming home to two happy, relaxed cats made it clear they had been loved and well cared for while I was gone. Will definitely have her watch them again!”

“Emma is great! She always sends great updates and adorable pics! She’s very reliable and I feel like I’m leaving my cat in good hands. I also appreciate that she takes good care of my apartment - even took out the trash before I came home from my trip, which is a huge help :)”

“I highly recommend Christina. She was flexible about doing a quick meet-and-greet before the actual pet sitting, which I really appreciated. She was attentive to all the instructions, asked thoughtful questions, and gave updates. Overall, I felt like my pets were in great hands.”

“Megan was a 10/10 sitter! She made us feel so comforted when we were away from our Pixel for nearly 5 days - she sent plenty of photos and left little notes about how our cat baby was doing each day. Couldn't recommend her more. Thank you so much again!”

“For my first time using Rover, Therese was amazing! She was very accommodating, sent lots of updates on Penny which made me feel much more secure, and was happy to help me out as needed. Would definitely use her again and recommend her services!”

Tara was amazing! I had some issues w my apartment lockbox and she was very flexible and helpful. She did a great job pet sitting and I loved the pictures she sent everyday of my cat! She was very communicative, and qualified. Will be booking with her again!

Omolayo is such a kind person and I’m so grateful to have someone nearby I trust to watch my kitty. He’s a bit of a skittish guy and it’s so lovely to see Omolayo’s warmth and patience opening him up slowly. It’s so clear how much she just loves animals. Highly recommend her to watch anyone’s little guys!!!!
Liam was an amazing sitter for Komo! He was incredibly reliable, punctual, and communicative throughout every single drop-in visit. He went above and beyond by spending quality time playing with Komo, giving him lots of attention, and sending plenty of wonderful photos and detailed updates each day. It gave us total peace of mind while we were away. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would highly recommend Liam to anyone looking for someone who genuinely cares for their pet!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Maspeth. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
