“Yuxuan was friendly, communicative, super responsive, and best of all, flexible for our last minute request! She also offered a meet and greet so she could get to know Beau's needs before taking care of him. Beau loved walking with her. We'd gladly work with Yuxuan again!”

“Nina was absolutely amazing! My first time using Rover in New York and I couldn't of been happier! Nina was so friendly and caring, and my puppy was in great hands! Would definitely recommend Nina to anyone in need of pet care. She sent pictures every time she walked Stanley and always kept me updated, I will definitely be asking Nina for her assistance in the future. Thank you so much Nina!”

“Jen is great! We are admittedly kind of obsessed with our cats and like the peace of mind of having someone drop in with our cat with health issues. Jen is a great communicator and we definitely recommend her!”
“Isabel was very careful and patient with our cat and took good care of her! She helped us to keep the cat’s living area nice and tidy, and knew very well about how to interact with a cat who was too shy (actually more energetic than you could imagine) to see a sitter at first. Our little girl seemed to be very happy about her first ever sitting experience eventually:)”

“Christie took great care of our boy while we were away for a long weekend. Looking forward to her caring for him again in the future. And hopefully he opens up more!!”

“Katherine was available last minute to drop in on Beau and walk him. She followed instructions to the tee, was responsive, and took lots of pictures. We'd love to work with her again!”

“Tiffany is the best friend a dog or person can have Attentive loving and so thorough hudson and I can’t wait to see you again This is why I refer you to my friends”

“Andrew & Jing have been incredibly communicative and thoughtful during the two times they’ve taken care of my cat. They send lots of great photos, comprehensive updates, follow all instructions closely and take time to play with her as well. It was a relief knowing she was in such good care!”

“Lisa took wonderful care of Mitten (my skittish little girl kitty) while I was away. She sent sweet updates and photos that really put me at ease, and it was clear Mitten was happy and well looked after. Lisa has a very kind, calm presence, and Mitten seemed to take to her right away. I came home to a very content kitty 😊 I would absolutely book with Lisa again and highly recommend her!”

AMAZING AGAIN! Booked with Lisa for a long period of travel (9 days), and she did an amazing job taking care of our bunny! She follows all directions, communicates seamlessly, and took many photos of our rabbit. I'd highly recommend her for anyone who needs their pet taken care of for drop-in visits. She always makes us feel at ease that our bunny is well taken care of!! Would definitely recommend her!

Giang has been such a great sitter for our two boy cats. Our cats have some odd feeding needs and although they are good cats it's not exactly a simple visit, and she is very accommodating with all of it. She gives my partner and I peace knowing our cats are in good hands.

Ivangellys is absolutely wonderful! She truly cares for my cat as if she were her own. She kept me updated throughout, went above and beyond by even fixing the cat tree, and was incredibly considerate of both Melly and my apartment. It’s clear that she genuinely loves and cares for the pets she looks after. I 110% recommend booking her for any of your pet care needs!

Catie was fantastic. She looked after Safir and Rea for three weeks while I was away and I never had a single worry. Super reliable, always on time, and she sent updates and photos after every visit. The apartment was left exactly as I found it and the cats were clearly happy and well cared for.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Island City. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
