“Jenna is a great pet sitter. I needed someone to look after my cat while I was out of town for a few days and I picked Jenna after reading all the great reviews. She followed the schedule we agreed on and instructions I provided. I loved that she sent me pictures of my cat to show me how she was doing. My cat is very shy and is scared of new people but Jenna was able to make her feel comfortable. I will definitely choose her again in the future!”

“Christie was fantastic taking care of Iris over the holiday! Super communicative and sent lots of cute pictures of Iris :) next time I need a pet sitter I will absolutely be reaching out to Christie”

“Lisa was very professional and answered my last-minute request promptly. She took care of my cat very well in two visits and did more than was asked. Her service was much appreciated.”

“Nina took great care of our cat while we were away, and was so attentive and communicative throughout! She shared lots of photos and videos and so kindly cleaned up after our cat who has a tendency to throw up hair balls. Our cat is older so we generally worry about her when we are away, but it’s much easier when she is well looked after in our absence and that’s how we felt with Nina checking in on her! “Angelica was such a delight. She was quick to respond and able to accommodate our availability requests. She took great care of our kitten, he loved having her around. Sent many photos and videos as well, couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Would book her again! 😇”

“I am so happy I connected with Abdelkader to care for my cats when I am out of town. He is super reliable, often going out of his way to help with things. My cats don’t usually trust strangers, but it seems they loved him immediately! He is kind, communicative, and the type of human you would like to be around your pets. Thank you A!”

“So lovely to have Candice watch our little guy. She gives great notes and catches some funny faces in the photos she takes for the check-in reports. We’re hooked. Respectful and diligent and all around kind person.”

“Nathalia was a wonderful sitter for my cat! Very communicative and responsible. She was also patient with my cat as he got to know her. I would highly recommend her.”

“Andrew & Jing have been incredibly communicative and thoughtful during the two times they’ve taken care of my cat. They send lots of great photos, comprehensive updates, follow all instructions closely and take time to play with her as well. It was a relief knowing she was in such good care!”

“Katherine was available last minute to drop in on Beau and walk him. She followed instructions to the tee, was responsive, and took lots of pictures. We'd love to work with her again!”

“Honestly, I never want to leave my little Annie with anyone else. Victoria so clearly loves animals and loves getting to know their personalities. She sent pictures every day and updates on how Annie seemed to be doing, including when she thought Annie might not be feeling great. I would trust Victoria with Annie absolutely any time. Thank you!!!”
About: I’ve been a huge dog and animal lover my whole life, but currently don’t have any of my own. Luckily, I work a very flexible remote job that allows me to give lots of love and attention to your furry baby! I prioritize the comfort and safety of each pet, so I only accept 1 client at a time and will never have multiple pets from different clients at once. I have years of experience and will love and treat your pet(s) like my own! I have a very flexible work from home job, so I can easily take pets on walks and give them lots of love and attention! I live in a comfortable luxury apartment with 24/7 doormen. I do not have a yard, but I live in a safe neighborhood where I can take them on frequent walks. My building also has a private outdoor space and pet grooming amenities.
“Houda took incredible care of my kittens while I was gone for two weeks! She quickly won them both over, and was amazing about sending me updates that clearly demonstrated she was spending time with them, having just as much fun with their quirky cuteness as me, and treating them as her own. She gave them lots of playtime and cuddles while I was away, and I came back to two well cared for kittens!”

“Isabel was very careful and patient with our cat and took good care of her! She helped us to keep the cat’s living area nice and tidy, and knew very well about how to interact with a cat who was too shy (actually more energetic than you could imagine) to see a sitter at first. Our little girl seemed to be very happy about her first ever sitting experience eventually:)”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Long Island City
CK did a great job with Catapuss. We had a socialization visit, so CPuss was comfortable when he came to do her insulin shot. It was his first feline insulin shot, and he did great following directions and administering the injection to a sassy girl. He’s welcome by CPuss to come again!

Yongru instantly connected with our 12 year old British shorthair and was very well looked after while we were away for 1.5 weeks. Yongru faultlessly followed our very detailed instructions, was a great communicator and very observant on anything that may be even slightly out of the ordinary. Would recommend and rebook.

Irma was so attentive, kind, and communicative with us. This was our first time using Rover and leaving our cat Andy, and Irma made sure everything was taken care of and even met Andy prior to the booking. She handled Andy's upset stomach (he can eat too fast), and even went above and beyond taking care of him. We would more than recommend booking with Irma. She is the best!!!

Natasha was amazing!!! She took care of the Professor over multiple visits with differing drop-in needs. She was perfectly communicative and brought a lot of attention to detail. My kitty loooooved spending time with her! Usually he stress-licks a spot on his back when I am gone, but he was spot-free upon my return. Natasha clearly takes joy in caring for cats, and I am so grateful I found her!

Amanda is a great, trustworthy sitter! She really makes the effort to get to know your pet so they feel comfortable while you’re away. She went above and beyond with my cat, making sure he is brushed, taking care of litter, cleaning food dishes, etc. I’d highly recommend her to anyone!

We had a wonderful experience with Emily! She took great care of our cat while we were away and gave us so much peace of mind. We received thoughtful updates and photos after each visit, and it was clear our cat was comfortable and well cared for. They were reliable, communicative, and made sure everything was taken care of. We came home to a happy cat and a clean space, which we really appreciated. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Long Island City. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
