“Bianca was outstanding! I had a last minute need for someone to care for my very nervous, older, diabetic dog. We had little time to introduce her to him in advance, but she made it work. She was very patient with him and took the time to make sure he became comfortable with her. She managed to quickly gain his trust and had no issues giving him his insulin injections. She followed instructions very well and I did not worry at all about leaving him with her. I was confident that she would take care of his needs.”

“Medina took amazing care of our two cats. She spent generous amount of time with them every day while we were gone, and always sent cute pictures and updates. The cats were happy to see us come home, but we can tell they miss Medina :)”

“Austin was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable about dogs. He met our frenchies and was able to get them to play with them shortly after meeting them. We are looking forward to work with him further.”

About: I've spent years walking dogs and have also looked after friends' pups during trips, so I know how to read a dog and keep them comfortable in any situation. I always come prepared with water and treats, and I pay close attention to each dog's energy and limits. If a smaller dog needs to cool down and rest in the shade, that's exactly what we do. I'm starting law school in August, so this summer I'm wide open and looking to spend as much time outside as possible — your dog is the perfect excuse. Once classes begin, walking dogs is honestly my ideal way to decompress between sessions. Whether it's a long summer morning walk or a midday break from studying, I'll always show up ready to go. I don't offer in-home sitting, but safety on the walk is something I take seriously. If we pass another dog, I always move to the side, cross the street, or pick up smaller dogs if needed — whatever keeps your pup comfortable and out of a situation they didn't ask for.
“Devon was a wonderful cat-sitter. She was timely for every check in and made sure to send me thorough updates about my cat’s eating habits and his mood. She also gave him plenty of exercise and sent me pictures after every visit. Walter (my cat) loved her! I will definitely be re-booking her services!”

“Lillybeth is a fantastic cat sitter! She visited Smokey daily and made sure he was well taken care of and, of course, had fun at playtime. She was very communicative and sent multiple pictures and updates daily. I would absolutely have her look after Smokey again.”
“Luciana is the absolute best! She played and gave cuddles to both my cats over the holidays. Even the kitten we saved who is shy came out to cuddle due to Luciana’s patience, diligence and genuine love for animals. She also sent a ton of photos and videos which helped ease my mind! Highly recommend!”

“She is wonderful! Even was able to help me out last minute when my flight got delayed. She was attentive thorough and gave me great detail when visiting my two 18 year old kitties-1 of whom requires twice daily insulin injections. I totally trust her with my boys and will definitely book her again!!”

“Charlie has been amazing with my dog Oliver. He walks him during the day and is always reliable, attentive, and caring. I can tell Oliver genuinely enjoys his time with him, which gives me peace of mind while I’m busy. It’s not easy trusting someone with your dog, but Charlie makes it effortless. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable and kind dog walker.”

“Hsiujen was a communicative, detail-oriented, and professional cat sitter. Her daily messages and photos made us feel comfortable knowing that our cats were getting great care. Would highly recommend, would book again!”

“Katie is amazing, Simba loves her and he even came out the first day she came to sit for him. I am so happy to have found her because she really keeps me updated on him and send a lot of pictures. I feel so much at ease because now I know he will be taken care of with lots of Love. Thank you so much Katie, looking forward to work with you for more visits to come.”
About: I’m a responsible babysitter and dog sitter. I’ve taken care of young pups and senior dogs. I understand dog body language well enough to assess situations when needed. I love a challenge and that means multiple dogs, larger dogs, and I could dog sit for hours. I follow instructions and I’m open to extra services before sun down. Although I’m new, you should not underestimate my experience. You can rely on me to be your dog’s new companion, I’m very flexible and adaptable. I love taking photos so you would not regret a photoshoot! I encourage pet owners to ask about any concerns or requests. I work part time helping animals! Feel free to ask me about that, but my scheduling is always changing so don’t be afraid to reach out to see if we can work around it! I don’t have a yard but the apartment is open except the main bedroom. There’s also a dog park nearby so we can have some safe outside play time!
“Maria took great care of my senior cat. She not only followed the feeding and misc instructions but asked me questions no other sitter had previously asked. Little details. I returned to a happy and purring cat. Maria is a very conscientious sitter and I highly recommend her.”

“Mich is the best of the best! She was so attentive to taking care of my cat & meeting all her needs while I was out of town for a week. She shared all the details of each visit with me, and sent lots of cute pictures. Absolutely will book her again in the future :)”
About: I’ve loved dogs ever since I was little and have always wanted a dog of my own. Luckily, I was able to grow up with my cousins’ dogs throughout my childhood! I have a lot of experience dog sitting for my friends and family. I enjoy taking long walks through the park by my home and will make sure your dog enjoys them as much as I do! I am an observant, attentive, and punctual person so your dog will be in very good hands! I will make sure to feed and walk your dog in a timely manner all while making sure they’re enjoying their time with me! Your dog’s safety and happiness are my top priority and they will be treated like family! I am a new grad nurse born and raised in NYC. I’m currently at home for most of the week, making it possible to dog-sit, house-sit, host doggy day cares, and complete drop in visits. My schedule is pretty flexible, but I appreciate clear, advanced notices if any changes were to occur. I live on the second floor of a walk up in a dog friendly neighborhood. I also live right by multiple small parks so there are many places nearby to take your dog out for walks and get all their energy out!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - East Elmhurst
With our 3 resident cats and 4 fosters (including 3 kittens), Medina had her hands full taking care of them, and she definitely met the challenge! We came back to happy, healthy cats and clean litter and food areas, which wasn’t a given with 7 cats. Her communicated well and responded to messages in a timely manner. Our minds were definitely at ease while she took care of cats.

Bianca was amazing! It was our first time booking with her and everything went seamlessly. Our cat who typically always hides from pet sitters actually came out and got a few pets which really put my mind at ease while we were away. Bianca clearly really cares and was attentive to all of my senior kitty’s needs. I hope to be able to book with her again in the future!

Katie was wonderful and communicative as always! She's great with the cats and always sends great pictures and updates. She kept me update on out-of-the-ordinary things going on in the neighborhood which I really appreciated. She's always so reliable and i feel so much better leaving my cats with her. Thank you as always!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Elmhurst. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
