“Jessica is wonderful. She came prepared to our meet and greet with questions and notes and she always responds quickly when you send her a message. She followed all feeding and medication instructions. My kitty was in great hands and was so calm when I came home. Will definitely use her services again in the future.”
“Susan is a super reliable, warmhearted person. She took great care of my cats. She also cleaned the cat litter that spilled on the floor. I contacted her when I noticed my cat bowl is completely empty and she acted so fast. I truly appreciate her for taking this urgent assignment of feeding my starving cats. Will definitely choose her again in the future when my cats are in need.”

“Charlie has been amazing with my dog Oliver. He walks him during the day and is always reliable, attentive, and caring. I can tell Oliver genuinely enjoys his time with him, which gives me peace of mind while I’m busy. It’s not easy trusting someone with your dog, but Charlie makes it effortless. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable and kind dog walker.”

About: I've cared for both dogs and cats my whole life-- I've never lived without a pet! I also have experience as a volunteer caretaker through my local animal shelter, and a deep passion for animal welfare and happiness. I work part-time and am a part-time student, so please check my calendar for availability. I have class from 4-9pm Tuesday & Wednesday and my work schedule is typically the day shift on Monday and Thursday. Again, if there are any deviances, I will mark them on the calendar! I'm happy to let your pet set the pace-- if they're a cuddle bug, I'll give them snuggles, and if they need some time to warm up, I'll sit quietly while they get used to me. If your puppy feels the need for speed, I'll take him on a sprightly jog, but if your senior prefers to take the scenic route, we can stop and sniff every tree. I'll listen to your instructions and preferences and theirs.
“Sally was amazing! This is the first time working with Rover and was very worried to let anyone into my home. Sally was respectful and responsible. I would definitely book with her again and I highly recommend her.”

“Our cat Teddy was glad to see Vanessa again for a couple days while we were out of town. She took good care of him and provided updates and photos. Vanessa is easy to work with, and we appreciated her prompt and thorough communication before, during, and after her visits as needed. Thank you!”

“Eric is our go to sitter. He loves cats and Nabi loves him. He is very reliable and communicative. We’re so grateful all he does for Nabi. So glad we’ve found him.”

“Erica was great! Communicative and friendly, and did everything she could with my unfriendly cat. Gave my cat her pills exactly how I showed her to do it, and left everything in perfect condition on my return home. Was my first time using Rover and I will be booking her again!”
“If I could give Xiaoying 6 stars out of 5 I would!! She met me same day for a meet and greet which was so helpful as I unexpectedly had to fly out for a family emergency. My cat is recovering from a medical condition and Xiaoying provided dozens of pictures and even brought a cat safe chicken soup for my cat since she wasn't eating. Medication instructions were followed and I had no worries knowing Xiaoying was watching my cat!”

“Rose took great care of my cat with drop in visits. She gave my cat plenty of attention and took time to play with him. My cat really liked her right away when he first met her, and he’s usually shy so that says a lot! I would definitely recommend Rose to anyone.”

“Angelica was wonderful. Very responsive to messages and made me less nervous with the care of my 2 cats. I will definitely recommend and rebook her services again.”

“Hemei did a great job taking care of our cat. She did everything we asked and was very communicative. We felt very comfortable being away with our cat in her care and would definitely book her again.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Flushing. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
