“Emily was phenomenal with Chloe !! She made me feel so comfortable with leaving her and sent me photos throughout the day. Overall wonderful experience!! Can’t wait to book again”

“I truly recommend Dan. This is my first time using Rover and naturally wanting the best for my dog, I wanted to make sure she’d be good, and Dan made sure of that. She always checked in with me, provided me updates of Daisy through pictures and videos, and always responds when she can.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for about 5 years, and over that time I’ve also helped look after dogs for family and friends whenever they needed someone they could trust. I’m a very caring, patient, and detail-oriented person, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs and getting to know their different personalities. When a dog stays with me, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for — and I want their owners to feel the same peace of mind. I always keep owners updated with lots of photos and videos, so even while you’re traveling, you’ll know your pup is getting plenty of love and attention. Caring for dogs is an important part of my daily life, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Right now, pet care is my full-time focus, which means I have the time, energy, and flexibility to give dogs lots of attention throughout the day. I’m also pet CPR certified, and I always do my best to provide a safe, loving, and attentive environment for every pup staying with me. I live in a clean and well-kept apartment and do our best to create a calm, safe, and comfortable environment for dogs in our care. I also have a 3-year-old Border Collie who is very sweet, gentle, and full of positive energy. He has done very well with other dogs and has enjoyed spending time and playing with them. Throughout the day, I make sure dogs get regular potty breaks, outdoor time, and time to relax and settle in comfortably at home. After coming back inside, I clean their paws to help keep them clean and comfortable while also maintaining a tidy living space. I also pay attention to brushing and overall cleanliness so dogs can feel comfortable during their stay. Most importantly, I pay close attention to each dog’s comfort level, personality, and interactions to help maintain a safe and positive environment for everyone.
“Ever since Ace’s first stay, I haven’t trusted anyone else to watch him. He’s always so excited to see Athena, which gives me complete peace of mind knowing he’s happy and well cared for. Athena is truly amazing, she’s reliable, caring, and treats Ace like he’s one of her own. I couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter!”

“Juliana and her family made Odin’s first daycare with them very pleasant! Prior to this we had a meet and greet, she asked appropriate questions for Odin’s safety (vaccine status, allergies, intolerances, routine etc.) She is swift with her responses and provides pic. Odin is looking forward to his overnight stay soon!”

“Yakie was amazing to my puppy! Took time to make sure his feeding schedule and trainings at home were incorporated throughout the day. She gave updates on how he did with his other puppy friends and he came home tired after a day of playing.”

“I was on the search to find a pet sitter that would understand my specific circumstances. I have a rescue pup who has been through a lot, and is still acclimating to my space, and needs someone calm, and kind. I saw Priscilla had experience with rescues and messaged right away. She was so patient and accommodating around the day-sitting request. When she showed up, she was grounded and calm, and knew how to walk into the space without getting my pup more excited. I was also quite nervous, and she was patient with me as I bumbled through all the things I wanted her to know ? I was able to leave knowing my baby was in good hand. 10/10 would recommend and will rebook in the future! Fluffy and I say thank you, Priscilla!?”

Pet care is a consistent part of my daily and weekly routine. I work at a veterinary office Monday through Saturday, which allows me to bring professional experience and a strong understanding of animal health into my care routine. Cats are kept in a quiet area away from dogs, with clean litter boxes, fresh water, and enrichment as needed. I follow each pet owner’s care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise routines, and any special needs. Cleanliness, safety, and comfort are always a priority, and I monitor pets throughout the day to ensure they are happy and healthy. “Ana was incredibly sweet with our Boston Terrier puppy who experienced his first time away from us with her. She sent lots of pictures and gave frequent updates. Highly recommended!”

About: For the past 4 years, I have volunteered at an animal shelter where I worked with both dogs and cats. With dogs, I have experience with all ages, ranging from 5 week old puppies to senior dogs. I have walked and played with dogs who were the most outgoing and loving dogs, as well as the more fearful ones who needed a little extra attention before opening up to me. I have received training in understanding dog behaviors as well as how to interact with more stressed and fearful dogs, leaving me confident to care for all types of dogs. I also volunteered to take some dogs out of the shelter for one night and care for them at my apartment so they can destress out of their kennels, which gave me experience house sitting multiple types of dogs. With cats, often times at the shelter I would play with them in their cages, or I would take them out the cage and hold onto/pet them to help relieve their stress and get them accustomed to humans. At home I also have 2 senior pets I care for, a 12 year old Brittany dog and an 11 year old cat. They’re both incredibly sweet and remind me every day why I love caring for animals. Let me help take care of your furry family members—I’d love to meet them! I work as a teacher full time during the school year, so I have time after 4pm to care for your pets. However, during the summer I don't work full time so I have plenty of time to care for your pets! I am free anytime during the week for house sitting, dog walking, or just dropping in to visit your pet. When caring for a pet in a client's home, I will make sure to confirm all household rules that apply to their pet before starting. This includes knowing what furniture the pet can sit on, the diet of the pet, as well as how often the pet should be played with/taken out on walks.
About: I had being around animals my entire life, and I consider pets as a part of the family. For me an animal is just like a person, most of them are like kids if you go out, bring water, snacks and toys for them. If your in the house they want attention and all the love that you can give them. Always have clean clean and fresh water, give them the food on time, play with them and always take care of them. Don’t leave them for long periods of time by themselves, and make sure they are healthy. Take them out at least two times at day and if it’s to cold outside put them the coat and the boots if it is necessary.
About: I have over a decade of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages and temperaments. As a current multi-pet owner with a mini poodle and a rescue cat, I am an expert at managing a happy, harmonious home and catering to different personality types. What sets my care apart is the activity level and location. I live just 20 feet from one park and a 5-minute walk from another, making outdoor time effortless. My schedule is built around your pet's needs: when I'm home, they get 3-4 walks a day, they are guaranteed three solid walks with plenty of park time. My home is a true 'pet paradise'—fully stocked with a massive variety of dog and cat toys to suit any play style, from high-energy fetch to interactive puzzle games. I also treat your pets like my own by exclusively serving ZeroWater filtered water for premium hydration. I am highly observant, deeply responsible, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, active, and loved. My weekly routine is highly structured to guarantee your pet gets plenty of regular exercise and potty breaks. Since I work from home every day, I am able to take dogs out for four walks a day (morning, lunch break, evening, and right before bed). I am always home for overnight boarding, and my weekends are fully open for even more playtime and park visits! Because I am a pet owner myself with a dog and a cat, my home is fully set up for animal safety. My environment is supervised, and I am particularly careful about keeping curious pets away from indoor plants or other hazards. I provide a calm, structured space where your pet can relax while I work from my home office. I also believe in total transparency and will send you frequent photo and video updates so you can see your pet enjoying their time, whether we're playing fetch at the park or lounging at home. To ensure every guest feels at home, I provide multiple dog beds in various sizes throughout the apartment. This allows each dog to have their own dedicated space to retreat to and relax, which is especially helpful for pups who might be a little timid at first!

Ever since Ace’s first stay, I haven’t trusted anyone else to watch him. He’s always so excited to see Athena, which gives me complete peace of mind knowing he’s happy and well cared for. Athena is truly amazing, she’s reliable, caring, and treats Ace like he’s one of her own. I couldn’t recommend her more highly to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving dog sitter!

Peggy and Anthony were terrific with our very active young cockapoo. Even though our dog stayed with them for the first time, it was as if she knew them all this time. Peggy and Anthony were also very responsive, warm, understanding and easy to talk to about the dog’s needs. We look forward to having them take care of our dog again in the future.

Nataly has been watching our sweet Barkley for the past several years. He was 16, and she was so sweet with him and watched over him, when he suddenly passed yesterday. We will be forever grateful for all you have done for him. I will be leaving River after this post, but wanted let as many people know just how special Nataly is as a person, a dog-lover, and second mom to Barkley.

Juliana was able to accommodate a last minute sitting request for my two senior dogs. She was extremely responsive, caring and provided updates throughout the day. Our dogs are elderly, shy and need frequent walks and she took care of them as if they were her own. Highly recommend!

I truly recommend Dan. This is my first time using Rover and naturally wanting the best for my dog, I wanted to make sure she’d be good, and Dan made sure of that. She always checked in with me, provided me updates of Daisy through pictures and videos, and always responds when she can.

We had an amazing experience with Nari & Ryan and couldn’t be more grateful! They were incredibly accommodating and helped us out on very short notice when we needed last minute doggy daycare. They came highly recommended by our friends, and they absolutely lived up to the praise. Nari was so sweet, responsive, and communicative throughout the day. She kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos of our dog, Frankie, which gave us a peace of mind. Frankie was walked multiple times, and we especially loved seeing how gentle and caring Nari’s daughter was with him! It really added a personal, family oriented touch to the experience. When Frankie came home, he was relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, attentive, and kind dog sitters!

It was my first time leaving blue in doggy daycare And he looks very happy. Looks like he’s been taken care of and he had a good time over there from the pictures that I see. I had a little hesitation, but I can see that there was no reason for me to hesitate. I will definitely keep using her for all my dog sitting needs.

Aileen was extremely responsive and kind. Loha was great at her place and took a good nap as well. He was very comfortable and we were also very comfortable as she greeted us so kindly. It was a very short notice, but she was extremely accommodating as well. We would definitely see her again.!

Ma and her boyfriend were wonderful with my pup Winston! It was my first time using Rover so I was a little nervous leaving him with someone new but she made sure to send regular updates and was very responsive. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable sitter!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
