About: I have 4 years of experience volunteering at an animal shelter where I worked with both dogs and cats. With dogs, I have experience with all ages, ranging from 5 week old puppies to senior dogs. I have walked and played with dogs who were the most outgoing and loving dogs, as well as the more fearful ones who needed a little extra attention before opening up to me. I have received training in understanding dog behaviors as well as how to interact with more stressed and fearful dogs, leaving me confident to care for all types of dogs. I also volunteered to take some dogs out of the shelter for one night and care for them at my apartment so they can destress out of their kennels, which gave me experience house sitting multiple types of dogs. With cats, often times at the shelter I would play with them in their cages, or I would take them out the cage and hold onto/pet them to help relieve their stress and get them accustomed to humans. At home I also have 2 senior pets I care for, a 12 year old Brittany dog and an 11 year old cat. They’re both incredibly sweet and remind me every day why I love caring for animals. However, during the summer I don't work full time so I have plenty of time to care for your pets! I am free anytime during the week for house sitting, dog walking, or just dropping in to visit your pet. This includes knowing what furniture the pet can sit on, the diet of the pet, as well as how often the pet should be played with/taken out on walks.

About: Most notably, I have worked for Dan's Pet Care as a dog walker in Manhasset for 6 months. I would walk dogs, sometimes feed them, give them water, give them medication, pick up and drop them off to and from the petcare center if asked to. To put it shortly, I have lots of experience with new dogs. I also used to work at The Allypond Environmental Center, along with owning pets throughout my life and still do to this day such as dogs, cats, birds, fish, and guinea pigs. I've also taken care of my and other family members dogs some who have had casts on a leg. For dogs who are more sensitive or feel more secure near people, I can arrange for them to sleep in the same room with me. After outdoor time, I clean the dogs’ paws to help keep them comfortable and maintain a clean living environment. I also pay attention to brushing and overall cleanliness throughout their stay. Ellison did an outstanding job walking my dog, Mr. President, and accommodating multiple needs on very short notice. From the very beginning, she took the time to come over and walk with me so she could fully understand his routine, temperament, and walking process. That extra effort made the transition seamless when I left her fully in control and responsible for his care. She handled everything with calm confidence and professionalism, and I felt completely comfortable trusting her. Communication was excellent throughout, including coordinating with my mom regarding Mr. President’s care and handling while I was away. It was clear she was attentive, patient, and genuinely invested in doing things the right way. I truly appreciated her reliability and care during this time.
It was my first time leaving blue in doggy daycare And he looks very happy. Looks like he’s been taken care of and he had a good time over there from the pictures that I see.
