Veronica was extremely responsive and professional. She loves dogs and gave our pup constant attention and affection. We were updated with pics and Veronica used the app to inform us of our dogs potty breaks etc so we could plan our pups routine upon his return. I would highly recommend Veronica and I will use her services again.

Wendy and her husband took great care of my dog and sent me updates during the day. Zoe can be shy and sensitive at first with new people, but she warmed up to them so quickly! Their dog Hero is so cute and playful as well. I would recommend her, and Zoe looks forward to her next daycare there!

So grateful to Jen for taking care of our girl for a few hours while we were attending a family event. She was so kind and patient while she listened to Izzy’s lore and was prepared to meet her vibe. Felt very serendipitous that she was available and close to the event we needed to attend and I’m grateful she took such good care of Izzy.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and been a dog owner since I was 10 years old. I love caring for them and providing fun, comfort and companionship! I work from home so am very flexible with days & times. In addition to being home all day, my work schedule is flexible so not too bogged down at my desk all day. Lots of time to walk and play! I have a big, comfortable, quiet apartment. I live right near Carl Schurz park and about 20 minutes from Central Park - great for walks :)

Juliana was amazing and so gentle with my pups. It's evident she has a lot of experience with dogs and even my skittish duo felt at ease with her during daycare. She provided a detail report of their behavior and pictures at the end of the day and is very communicative. Will definitely continue to use Juliana!

I couldn't recommend Janet more. She is incredibly communicative, professional, friendly, and positive. I received fast responses to my messages and pictures and videos of my 9 week old puppy. I could tell when he got home that he had the most fulfilling time of his young life. Dante took to her and he is on the shy side for a puppy. I knew when I met her that this was right for Dante not just for the short term, but in the long term as he grows up. I look forward to working with her and I am so happy I found the right person to help Dante grow up into the best dog he can be. :)

About: I’ve always had a natural connection with animals, and they tend to trust me quickly. I’ve cared for many different pets over the years, including dogs, small animals, and birds. I successfully home-trained my rabbit and hand-trained and hand-tamed four parakeets, helping them feel comfortable and bonded with me within their first week at home. I’m very patient, calm, and attentive, which helps pets feel safe and relaxed in my care. I make sure all pets are fed on time, well cared for, and given plenty of love and attention. I also have experience caring for my godsister’s and cousins’ dogs, including a beagle and a dachshund. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I truly believe every pet deserves kindness, consistency, and genuine care. I have a rabbit named miffy, a parakeet named Beaky. I feed and water them everyday as well as charge the litter box of my rabbit as I trained him to learn to do his business in his litterbox. I also help my disabled neighbor walk their dog whenever nobody is home I always prioritize safety, comfort, and trust when caring for pets in my home or a client’s (or neighbors) home. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions. I take time to build trust with every pet, allowing them to adjust at their own pace. I keep environments clean, calm, and secure, and I make sure pets are supervised, well-cared-for, and given plenty of attention and affection at all times.

Emily took such amazing care of our puppy, Remy! 🐶 She sent us photos and videos regularly, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was happy and in good hands. She took him on walks, followed all of our instructions, and made sure he was well cared for throughout his stay. Remy even got to spend time and play with her dogs, which he absolutely loved! We felt completely comfortable leaving him with Emily and are so grateful for how well she cared for him. We will definitely be booking with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

I left Lyla with Anny for a full day of daycare, and she had an absolute blast! It's such a relief knowing she's in such caring and capable hands. Anny clearly provides a safe and fun environment, and Lyla came home tired and happy, which is always the best sign. We loved hearing about her day and how much she enjoyed playing. We had an amazing experience with Nari & Ryan and couldn’t be more grateful! They were incredibly accommodating and helped us out on very short notice when we needed last minute doggy daycare. They came highly recommended by our friends, and they absolutely lived up to the praise. Nari was so sweet, responsive, and communicative throughout the day. She kept us updated with plenty of photos and videos of our dog, Frankie, which gave us a peace of mind. Frankie was walked multiple times, and we especially loved seeing how gentle and caring Nari’s daughter was with him! It really added a personal, family oriented touch to the experience. When Frankie came home, he was relaxed, happy, and clearly well cared for. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, attentive, and kind dog sitters!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Locust Point on Rover is $33.3 per day (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 11,409 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Locust Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Locust Point commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 11,409 sitters in Locust Point, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
