“Leona is very kind and friendly. She helped us with visiting our cat Pudding twice a day. She really loves cats. She played with Pudding every time and made sure she has food and water and sent us pictures. Pudding was very happy and playful when we arrived. Definitely recommended.”

I love having animal companionship and making sure every pet feels happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I have a fenced yard where your dog will be able to run around. I also have a crate (if needed), water bowl, and feeding bowl for when your dog is staying over.

About: I have experience taking care of my own cat and dog. I am used to the daily routines of a pet, such as feeding, cleaning, play and company. I am a responsible, patient and careful person. I like to follow the instructions of each owner to respect the schedules, habits and needs of each pet. I also feel comfortable walking friendly dogs and making home visits to feed them, accompany them and make sure they are well. I have flexible availability during the week and on weekends. I can organize my schedule for walks and home visits, and I like to dedicate enough time to each pet so that it feels accompanied and well taken care of. I make sure they have water, food, walks and company, and I maintain constant communication with photos and updates during the service.
About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. I got my first dog when I was 5 which was my dream come true and had pets pretty much my whole life until I was 22. I don’t have any pets of my own right now, but I’m always happy to help watch my neighbors’ and friends’ pets whenever they need someone. I really enjoy being around animals and getting to know their different personalities. I’m caring, patient, and responsible, and I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, walks, and love while you’re away. I know how much pets mean to their families, and I love every dog as if they were my own. Honestly, even when I see a dog walking down the street, I get so excited and immediately want to say hi! I would love to have a dog of my own right now, but since that isn’t possible at the moment, I think pet sitting is a really great way for me to spend time with dogs, care for them, and give them all the love and attention I would give my own. I’ve graduated from college in 2023 and since then have returned to taking college courses again. Therefore, I am used to the college life while maintaining animal care, whether it was for my own dog or dog sitting. Having to take courses again and not having a full time job has left me with more than enough time at home throughout the week. My family has always loved animals, so when I was 5 and had asked for a dog- it was an easy yes. I’m used to having a dog/dogs around the house. When my 2 dogs unfortunately passed away, I began dog sitting for neighbors, friends, and other loved ones and through my experience, I have had ample time for them in my schedule. I live in a house with a yard where I can take dogs outside for some fresh air and playtime. Part of the yard isn’t fenced, so I would always keep dogs on a leash while they’re outside to make sure they’re safe. I also have a neighborhood that I really enjoy walking in, and I’d be happy to take dogs on multiple walks throughout the day depending on their energy level and needs. I’m happy to follow their usual routine as much as possible, whether that means regular walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or just relaxing and getting lots of attention. If your dog uses wee-wee pads, that’s completely fine too! I’m happy to accommodate whatever they’re used to at home.
“Andrea was great! She seemed comfortable to be at my place and with my 2 cats which is what I was hoping for! She is kind, caring and enthusiastic! Would absolutely use for future needs and would recommend to anyone needing pet care!”

“We're so pleased with Joane's care for our cat Zappa! She was communicative, extremely nice and pleasant and diligent, she kept us apprised of everything that happened during the visit and sent pictures and videos! She earned our trust and then some! I look forward to having future opportunities to utilize. Joane.”

About: I have lifelong, hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, ages, and energy levels — from couch-loving seniors to zoomie-prone puppies! Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. My focus is on positive, gentle handling and getting to know your pup and their specific needs to help them feel at ease. I’m confident on leashed walks, experienced with basic training reinforcement, and always up for belly rubs, playtime, or just a cozy cuddle session (if you and your dog prefers). Safety, fun, and plenty of tail wags are always top priority when your pup is with me. I'm currently working part-time, so I can work around your schedule and I'll have plenty of time to play with your pups. I'm available for boarding on weekdays as well as weekends. When caring for pets in their own home, I treat the space with the same respect and care I would want for my own. I understand that pets thrive on routine and familiarity, so I make it a priority to resemble their habits and schedules, feeding routines, walk times, and play routines. This helps reduce stress and keeps them feeling secure while their humans are away. Safety is always top of mind — I carefully follow all instructions, keep doors and gates securely closed, monitor for any unusual behavior, and ensure pets are never exposed to hazards (like unsafe foods, chewed items, or off-limits areas). I also stay in touch with updates and photos, so you feel confident and connected the whole time. Most importantly, I build trust with your pets through patience, kindness, and positive energy. Whether it’s a nervous cat hiding under the bed or an excitable pup waiting for their walk, I take the time to meet each pet where they are and help them feel comfortable in their own space.
“Thank you, Brianna, for taking care of my elderly cats for two weeks! Usually, when I leave them, they get upset and could pee all over and make a mess. At this time, I came back to the clean apartment, and my cats were healthy and cheerful 😻.”
“Mia is an amazing sitter! She’s responsive and attentive to detail. She made me feel so secure she was caring for my pets gave regular updates and a lot of pictures. My girls were very happy in her care and I would highly recommend her.”

“Victor was so amazing with Emily! Made sure she was well taken care of during his drop in visits. Communication was effortless with lots of photos for updates”

About: I’m active and enjoying running/walking. I grew up with a dog in the house and took care of her until her last days. As she got older I still tried to enrich her but playing with her and training her on new commands. I work full time but I'm free on the weekends and home. Weekdays I can accommodate evenings if needed. Friday-Sunday is possible for me as well. When I’m taking care of dogs I like to spend most of my time with them and love play! I prefer to follow a routine and stick to it.
“Kevin did an amazing job sitting for my pup. He was very responsive and professional, and even allowed some last minute requests. I would definitely recommend him. I will definitely ask for his help in the future if needed.”

About: Since I was a baby I always had a special connection with animals especially dogs. I was raised with big dogs and they always felt like big teddy bears to me. Now as an adult I work as a dog handler. I've worked for Biscuits and Bath and now I work for a great company called Camp Canine. I've grown attached to our beautiful dog family. I want to extend my services to owners who might be looking for a more affordable way to keep their pets safe and busy having one on one fun. I have lots of references from Biscuits and Bath and Camp Canine. I look forward to spoiling your doggo. :) P.S. I can live stream every single time that I care for your pet. I’m currently working the weekends over night so I have plenty of space available. Your babies will be well attended to. I look forward to meeting them. I have a nice cozy apartment where I take care of the dogs and I also have a park directly in front of my building where they can get plenty of exercise with me.

“Rose is the ABSOLUTE best!! She took care of my susu and made her feel very comfortable and happy! I would 100% recommend her to anyone who wants their fur baby to be in good hands. She gave her her medicine, changed her litter, made sure she had food and water and even maintained her morning routine and spent quality time with her. Can’t say enough about how much of a jem Rose is!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since being a child. What sets me apart from other sitters is my motivation and love for the caring of animals. I’m currently only in college taking only a few classes, so I’ll have lots of time to play and walk with your pup! I live in an apartment, but live right next to the infamous Crotona Park, so your pup will always have a fun, big, and interesting park to walk in when they’re staying with me.
“David helped me out last minute when another sitter canceled on me! He was great and very patient with mocha, as she took her time warming up lol. He showed up everyday on time, was very communicative in making sure mocha’s needs were met. Would recommend booking David for your fur babies!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Locust Point
Sabrina was wonderful, she was so sweet and gentle to my three cats. She knew how to interact with them and pet them but she also knew when to back off if any of my cats were more timid. She also cleaned up after my cats litter robot perfectly and kept my home clean as well as double checking if the oven/ stove was off! I felt so calm knowing my babies had such a great care taker while I was on vacation.

Grace has been a tremendous help with taking care of Bianca. She is always punctual, reliable, and great at communicating. We feel very fortunate to have found someone as kind, caring, and trustworthy as Grace. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their pet.

Chok is the most caring and conscientious cat sitter I’ve ever had. Leaving your pets behind is always stressful, but she immediately put my mind at ease. Melody and Houdini instantly connected with her—they usually take time to warm up to new people, but they absolutely adored her! She was incredibly attentive to their routines, extremely thorough with the care instructions, and treated my home with the utmost respect. It is so clear that she genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond to make sure they are happy, safe, and comfortable. I could tell from her detailed updates and photos/videos she sent that my cats were in fantastic hands the entire time. ***Chok also administered asthma medicine to one of my cats (an inhaler using Aerotek chamber and mask). If you are looking for a trustworthy, loving, and reliable sitter who will treat your fur babies like her own, look no further. I am so grateful for her and will definitely be booking her again! Chok is amazing!

Leona was amazing with our dog Doeby! Doeby is a very large energetic dog that requires constant attention and Leona provided everything that Doeby needed. Doeby appeared happy in every photo that Leona sent us. 10/10 service. She went above and beyond and allowed us to enjoy our wedding weekend without having to worry about Doeby. We will definitely be hiring her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
