“Ana was so sweet and kind to my puppy. She sent me multiple updates and pictures throughout the day and treated him with so much love. She followed my schedule with him to the T and I could tell he enjoyed being with her and her with him. My puppy came home tired and happy and we will be repeat customers!”

About: Lady and I bring years of hands-on experience with animals, not only in care and companionship but also in providing basic training and understanding their unique needs. Whether it’s working with playful puppies, helping senior dogs feel comfortable, or ensuring every pet feels safe and loved, we go beyond just “sitting.” Our deep passion for animals and understanding of their behavior allows us to build trust quickly, creating a stress-free environment for pets and their owners. We’re also familiar with managing different temperaments, routines, and even health-related needs, ensuring every pet receives tailored care. Your pets are not just cared for—they’re treated like family. Pet care is an essential part of my daily routine. I plan my schedule around my clients’ needs, ensuring I’m available for feedings, playtime, walks, or administering medications at the right times. I’m flexible and can accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening visits, depending on what works best for you and your pet. In your home, I prioritize your pet’s safety by following all instructions you provide, maintaining a clean and secure environment, and respecting their established routines. I double-check that all doors and windows are secure and keep an eye on their behavior to ensure they’re comfortable. If pets stay in my home, they’ll enjoy a pet-friendly, cozy space free of hazards, with plenty of supervision, love, and care. Trust and communication with you are key—I provide updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing.
About: I have had pets since you were little so I have always had this initiative to be able to take care of them, love them and understand them. However, I worked as a groomer in a small store so I have been able to acquire more knowledge about their care and how important it is to keep them healthy, clean and healthy. Currently I stay at home, so I have the will to take care of and be able to have pets during the week and also be able to go for a walk and give them what they need, I am also a photographer and I can take beautiful photos of your pet Currently in my house I have 2 cats that are perfectly adaptable, so I can get another pet and have it temporarily with me and give it all the love it needs
About: Hi there! I’m Sarah. I’m here to make your pet feel at ease, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, treating them with complete respect for your wants and wishes. I live with only my husband and son (born Feb. 2025) - we do not have pets of our own, due to our traveling! I’m on extended leave, so your pup will have *all* of the attention! To ensure that attention, I only dogsit for one family at a time. My home is a second floor apartment, with a private, fenced-in balcony, close to numerous parks for our longer walks. I grew up on a farm upstate, always taking care of dogs, and I’ve dogsat for over two decades. For the past 8 years, I’ve also volunteered at, and fostered dogs through, the SPCA. I joined Rover after moving to Queens to continue my dogsitting. :) I’m very reliable and keep to scheduled meals, medical needs and exercise. Oh! And let's not forget plenty of cuddling. I love taking pictures and updating families on what their fur babes are up to! I love dogs of all sizes, ages, breeds, and temperaments! ******* Important note: My landlord's one restriction is that each dog must be under 60 lbs. ******* I look forward to meeting you soon! Being home during the day allows me to fully adapt to your pet's schedule - we will stick to all feeding, walking, medication, exercise/playing, and any other schedules that your pet usually follows! (Although we may have even more 'playing' time!) I have a very spacious, two-bedroom apartment, with no other pets--just a husband and son (born Feb. 2025)--to ensure your pet's absolute safety. We also have a grassy, fenced-in balcony that no other apartment has access to!
About: I grew up in somewhat of a menagerie in south Florida where we had lots of property and animals like 5 Akitas, a ring tailed lemur, a kinkajou, 2 house cats and 2 big cats (lynx & bobcat). I am no stranger to rolling up my sleeves at home or for my clients. I've cared for pets internationally in Morocco and domestically in NYC. As a natural caregiver and as a clinical social worker I have the highest standards when it comes to those in my charge. I currently work remotely on a part time basis as a recruiter and a caregiver for my grandmother. We have a full house with support coming from many directions and I am looking for a way to make a little extra cash while spending time with animals. My grandmother and husband would prefer not to have a permanent pet, so this is a great compromise. As a clinical social worker I take my work with humans and pets very seriously. It's a mission and I took an oath as an MSW graduate to do my best for all in my charge. My home is in a quiet residential neighborhood in Jackson Heights near a dog park. My home is secure, comes with a backyard and is very clean. Nothing would please me more than to have a furry guest from time to time.
“This was Bedie's third time with Shirley and like the last two times, she was well cared for and came back happy. Shirley is very attentive to Bedie's behavior and needs and I appreciate her detailed reports and insights.”

“Jule did an outstanding job puppy-sitting for me. She kept me updated, made sure my puppy was comfortable and happy, and treated them like her own. I came home to a relaxed and well-cared-for pup. I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in her hands.”

“Sonia took great care of my sensitive dog. My pup is nervous in new settings, however she quickly warmed up to Sonia and became more comfortable as the day went on. My dog also loved being out in her beautiful yard. Sonia provided frequent updates and answered all my questions, which helped put my mind at ease. I would recommend her and will use her again for my dog!”

About: I've been into pet care since I fell in love with my family dog at 8 years old. Since then I've been heavily involved with animal care throughout my life. Starting off with my own animals and then taking care of neighbors animals led me on this path a career choice. Animals give unconditional love and spread happiness to everyone around them, I just want to be be part of the care that goes into helping keep these lovely creatures alive and well. I've been living in New York now for around 7 years, and have worked many different kinds of jobs but find one of the most satisfaction in taking care of pets. I also look forward to learning more about our furry friends along my journey of knowledge and care.
“Anastasia took amazing care of Sully. It was clear how happy he was after his stay! Anastasia was extremely responsive to all of our messages, sent pictures, and clearly has a vast knowledge of dog breeds, behaviors and tendencies. Looking forward to having her watch Sully again next week, thanks Anastasia!”

“I was on the search to find a pet sitter that would understand my specific circumstances. I have a rescue pup who has been through a lot, and is still acclimating to my space, and needs someone calm, and kind. I saw Priscilla had experience with rescues and messaged right away. She was so patient and accommodating around the day-sitting request. When she showed up, she was grounded and calm, and knew how to walk into the space without getting my pup more excited. I was also quite nervous, and she was patient with me as I bumbled through all the things I wanted her to know ? I was able to leave knowing my baby was in good hand. 10/10 would recommend and will rebook in the future! Fluffy and I say thank you, Priscilla!?”

“Tracy is a fantastic sitter and we couldn’t be happier that we’ve found her. She is so welcoming, kind, caring and informative and you can tell she loves spending time with dogs. Tracy and Nookie invited our dog Sandy into their home and they had a great time together, Sandy came home shattered which was just what we were after. Tracy provides updates and regular communication and we can’t wait for Sandy to stay with her again as we know she is well looked after and loved, which is a massive relief. We highly recommend Tracy to take care of your dog as she knows exactly what they need.”

Kona had such a fun time today! This was her first time with a dog sitter and we are so glad that it was with Kuan. He was very accommodating and instantly made friends with Kona! We got time-to-time updates on how she was doing and the photos made our day. Kona can’t wait to come back again!

Peggy and Anthony were terrific with our very active young cockapoo. Even though our dog stayed with them for the first time, it was as if she knew them all this time. Peggy and Anthony were also very responsive, warm, understanding and easy to talk to about the dog’s needs. We look forward to having them take care of our dog again in the future.

Kayla was wonderful to our Tonton. She offered meet & greet ahead of the stay and even knows how to deal with Tonton's anxiety. He warmed up to her pretty fast with her approach which rarely happens and she constantly sent us updates throughout Tonton's stay. We could tell from the videos and photos that Tonton enjoyed his time with Kayla. We are very satisfied and would book her again!

Janie was great with our senior dog who is very anxious. Janie went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable for the day. She sat with him, let him explore, and gave him a lot of attention. She was very thoughtful with her questions in order to really understand his needs and updated us throughout the day. We will definitely book with her again.

Sasha and Catherine were wonderful hosts for Bandit. He has separation anxiety and needs some patience which they were more than up for the task of providing. They got him to take two walks, which he won't always do without his core family. They put us at ease every step of the way and we will definitely be using them again in the future! Thank you Sasha and Catherine!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Jackson Heights commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
