“I found Jennifer while searching for a dogsitter for Thanksgiving. She was terrific. We did a meet-and-greet beforehand to get acquainted. She is very nice and clearly comfortable with dogs. She was flexible with timing (drop off and pick up) and sent me messages and pictures for updates. Very grateful she was available for the holiday. I recommend Jennifer to anyone with a dog who is looking for a sitter.”

About: I am a passionate and devoted animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for pets. I grew up raising and lovingly caring for 4 German Shepherds and 1 Collie, which gave me complete confidence in handling large, strong breeds. Additionally, I have extensive experience caring for and breeding Jack Russell Terriers, making me well-versed in managing energetic, active dogs. Whether your dog is a big gentle giant or a small high-energy pup, I ensure they receive safe walks, attentive feeding, interactive playtime, and lots of love. I always carefully follow all owner instructions and send frequent photo updates so you have complete peace of mind. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine. I manage my schedule to ensure that pets in my care receive frequent attention, regular potty breaks, timely feeding, and engaging daily walks. Because my routine is flexible and structured, your dog or cat will never feel lonely and will always get the focused care, exercise, and affection they need throughout the day. Safety and comfort are my highest priorities. I maintain a clean, calm, and secure home environment where pets feel safe and relaxed. During walks, I strictly keep dogs on a leash, stay attentive to surroundings, and avoid unnecessary risks or conflicts with other animals. I closely follow every owner's specific rules regarding diet, medication, and routine, and I make sure your home and pets are treated with maximum respect and care.
About: I have plenty of patience tolerance and adaptability and with no pets right now and really miss having a little sweetie around. I have lovingly cared for ill and elderly fur kids. Sober since 1996 so no exposure to smoking, drugs or alcohol in my care. Meditating twice daily for decades and find it also makes for a nice peaceful environment. Fur kids love curling up in my lap for meditation time and it can help regulate their little nervous system too. I mostly work remotely so my schedule is pretty flexible and I have a lap available while in my office. I also walk a few miles a day to avoid my lap getting too big. If you see anything that might be limiting in my profile - feel free to ask and see if I can accommodate or make any exceptions. Im pretty flexible with accommodating fur kids. If they are used to crating to feel safe its not a problem but if crating is not necessary that's fine.

“Robin was the BEST! She agreed to do a meet and greet with me and even brought her pups to meet my princess Honey. Even though I felt comfortable with her through our chats, meeting her in person beforehand put the cherry on top. Once booked, she took great care of of my Honey girl, sent so many photos and gave me cute updates while I was at work. This was my first booking and definitely will not be the last. She can absolutely be trusted with your fur babies. I’m so glad I took a chance as she made the experience worthwhile. Now my Honey has a home away from home!! Thank you Robin, see you again :)”

“I booked Laura last minute and she was so accommodating! My baby boy loved her, she walked my dog and he had a great time. He came home eat his food and slept will definitely book in the future !”

“She sent me lots of photos, so I felt reassured. She’s professional and clearly loves and cares about dogs. I will definitely rebook her when i need daycare of my dog!”

“So grateful for them. I was extremely nervous of leaving Teddy because since I’ve rescued him, I hadn’t been able to leave him with a sitter because he’s a nervous dog and it takes him a while to open up. Luckily they were so amazing and understanding with him. Teddy even let them scratch his belly. Can’t wait for them to watch Teddy again so they can continue building that trust.”

About: It started as just me on Rover, my sister Melissa has joined me and that's why we share a profile . I am a 33 year old pastry chef who is currently working full time but with a rather flexible schedule and certain nights available for overnight dog sitting. My sister Melissa works from home, she has her own online store on Etsy, k9felinePeru (check it out!) So she will be providing most of the services we offer for your pets since she is home mostly all day, everyday and she is also a dog lover like me. I lost my beautiful pitbull mix, Sedgwick and then Dollar both to cancer 8 years ago and 1 month ago, respectively. I used to cook for Sedg and Dollar, healthy and organic in addition to their daily vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, I have experience with dog medication/ sick dogs/ special needs since I went through it with my own dogs. Seg had to take pain killers, steroids and a series of other pills that helped prolong his life and us spend more time together. Dollar had food allergies in addition to environmental ones like pollen and the like so we were very careful with his diet and the cleaning products we use in our household. We just lost him to prostate cancer which he battled for 2 years. We are a sisters team providing the best service for you and your pets in the area. We both love taking long walks in the park, massage bellies and scratch the right spot :) Just some additional info: We welcome potential clients into our home for a visit before you hire us, for your peace of mind, we understand that your fur child is just as important as any other member of your family, that's how we felt about our dogs anyway :)) Ask us about making an appointment to meet us. Melissa has experience with senior dogs taking care of a blind goldendoodle until he turned 16 1/2 and became unable to move. Daily she provided pills for his arthritis, vitamins, put his boots on since his mobility started declining and made his food. Why we love dog sitting Our whole lives as a children my parents never let me and my sister have one, my dad has always been afraid of them. But that didn't stop us, we found ways to have pets at home, we started with hamsters and as adults we finally got dogs in our lives. Melissa is self-employed. She makes her own schedule and has the freedom to choose and change everything everyday in her schedule with ease without problems. Here at home we live to cuddle. Pets are allowed on the bed and sofa. We can go on long walks if needed. Everything is done on time if they have a strict regiment for whatever reason like behavior training or ailments. For cats we love playing with them but understand they are more independent and try to learn their patterns to let them be as free as possible or if they are playful even better for us ❤️

We had such a wonderful experience with Juliana! Snowball stayed with Juliana while we attended US Open Fan Week, and we couldn’t have felt more comfortable knowing she was in such good hands. Juliana was caring, attentive, and made sure Snowball was happy and well cared for. We especially loved receiving all the pictures and updates from Juliana throughout Snowball’s stay. It gave us so much peace of mind and made us feel like we were still a part of her day while we were away. We would absolutely trust Juliana to care for Snowball again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, caring, and loving to watch their fur baby! 🐾❤️

I had such a wonderful experience with Viviana taking care of my dog, CoCo! From the moment we met, I felt completely comfortable leaving CoCo in her care. Viviana was loving, attentive, and very responsible, and she treated CoCo as if she were her own. She kept me updated with pictures and messages, which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that CoCo was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. When I picked her up, she was relaxed and happy, which meant so much to me. I highly recommend Viviana to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and dependable to look after their furry family member. I would absolutely have her care for CoCo again! ❤️🐾

Laura was the perfect sitter for our puppy, Rocky. We had a last minute trip to the area and she accommodated the last minute booking AND was gracious and understanding when we needed to change our drop off time. I would highly recommend Laura as a pet sitter!

This is my second time leaving Freckles (Pitbull/Bully Mix) over at Jonalynn’s house, they instantly connected and got along. To my surprise my dog got along with Romeo just fine, best buds. Romeo knows hows to behave and be around bigger dogs. Jonalynn updated me with pictures of Freckles and Romeo together playing, resting, window watching. She is also a huge life saver for last minute bookings, best dog sitter ever!

Janie was great with our senior dog who is very anxious. Janie went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable for the day. She sat with him, let him explore, and gave him a lot of attention. She was very thoughtful with her questions in order to really understand his needs and updated us throughout the day. We will definitely book with her again.

Jasmin is an insanely good dogsitter/doggy daycare caretaker. She was really respectful upon meetup and my dog, Ida, is usually scared and shy but she wasn't when we met jasmin. Upon receiving Ida she was very calm. Jasmin said that Ida slept very well and I certainly believe her. I will be using jasmin in the near future
I needed a sitter last minute for my dog and managed to find Nina. She’s friendly and professional, She took amazing care of Ziggy, she kept me updated throughout the day and it was a really good match. She took him on walks and played with him he was very happy and tired when I picked him up I will be booking with her again.

I really love the experience. It was my first time in Rover. I was in NY as a tourist and I was so tense about letting my little one. But Safiya is so nice and gentle and kind that I just relaxed the time I put my eyes on her. Her doggo Kanie is a bunch of joy. He is energetic, funny and warm. Safiya updated me every time, texting and sending me photos. Coco was relaxed and interacting with Safiya. In the second day, Coco just lead me to Safiya's door, wagging her tail. If you want a safe and warm place to let your little doggy, Safiya is amazing.

Aileen was extremely responsive and kind. Loha was great at her place and took a good nap as well. He was very comfortable and we were also very comfortable as she greeted us so kindly. It was a very short notice, but she was extremely accommodating as well. We would definitely see her again.!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Kew Gardens commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
