“Amanda was amazing with Flint! We had a pretty last minute situation and she came through for us with no hesitation. She was super attentive, communicative, and really took initiative during her drop-ins. She noticed things, checked in with us when needed, and went above and beyond without us having to ask. I felt comfortable knowing Flint was in good hands while we were away. Definitely someone I’ll be booking again in the future. Highly recommend Amanda!”

“Anscia was available for a last minute drop in that was needed and was very helpful in taking care of Gio while I was caught up at an appointment. Thank you, Anscia!!”

About: I provide dependable, loving care for dogs of all sizes and treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or overnight care, I make sure your dog stays safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away. Pet care is a regular part of my daily routine, and I make time each day for walks, feeding, playtime, and giving pets the attention they deserve. My flexible schedule allows me to provide reliable care throughout the week, including weekends when needed. I follow each pet’s normal routine by providing fresh food and water, regular walks, playtime, and plenty of attention while making sure they feel safe and comfortable. In both my home and my client’s home, I keep the environment clean, follow any special care instructions, and treat every pet with patience, kindness, and respect.
About: Lifelong Experience & Special Needs Expertise I have been around dogs most of my life and have personally cared for two dogs over the past 20 years. Both of my long-term companions developed chronic health conditions, giving me extensive hands-on experience caring for senior dogs and pets with special needs. Medication Administration: I am fully comfortable and experienced in administering oral medications safely and calmly. Breeds & Sizes: While I have a lot of personal experience with smaller dogs, I am completely comfortable and confident handling larger breeds as well. Brachycephalic/Short-Nose Breeds: I understand the unique health requirements of short-nosed breeds, particularly regarding proper heat management, exercise limits, and respiration monitoring. Because I work full-time in education with a daily commute, my regular schedule is focused on providing top-tier care during off-hours: Evenings & Weekends: Available for regular walks, drop-ins, and dinner feedings. Holidays & School Breaks: Expanded, flexible availability throughout the day. Services & What to Expect 30-Minute Dog Walks: Every walk is tailored to your dog's pace and energy level. Before and after our stroll, I take extra time to play with their favorite toys, shower them with attention, and let them settle in comfortably. Drop-In Visits: Perfect for checking in, play sessions, potties, and companionship while you’re away. Attentive Care & Feeding: I am happy to handle scheduled feedings and fresh water refills during any visit upon request. Wellness Checks: During every visit, I conduct a quick overall wellness check to ensure your dog appears happy, healthy, and showing no signs of discomfort or physical issues.
“This is our second time hiring Tedy to watch after our cat Baloo, and we couldn’t be happier! Shes so kind, incredibly communicative and has a natural gift with animals. We felt so assured our entire trip abroad that Baloo was in the best hands. Thank you!”

“Charlie has been amazing with my dog Oliver. He walks him during the day and is always reliable, attentive, and caring. I can tell Oliver genuinely enjoys his time with him, which gives me peace of mind while I’m busy. It’s not easy trusting someone with your dog, but Charlie makes it effortless. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dependable and kind dog walker.”

About: I grew up with dogs and volunteer with PAWS (a non-profit taking care of pets for bed-ridden elderly folks so they can keep their best friends at home with them)! I’ve worked with elderly dogs, shy dogs, hyperactive puppies, and moody cats. I’m lucky enough to work from home, which means I have access to time during the day where most people don’t. Let me free up some of your time by taking care of your fur baby so you can focus on work, childcare, errands, etc! I live a fairly active lifestyle, so anything from a walk to a run is right in my wheelhouse. I work from home most days so I can walk your pets or drop in anytime during the day or evening. Weekends I’m pretty flexible so connect with me and we can work out a schedule! Through PAWS, I’m used to entering client homes, feeding their pets, refilling water bowls, and taking the dogs out for walks. I take care to avoid staying out in the heat or the cold for too long since NYC weather can get brutal!
“My cat Max is pretty standoffish with most people but he warmed to Melanie right away. Our usual sitter was unavailable and I’m sooo glad Melanie was able to step in, Max loved her and I felt comfortable leaving him in her care.”

“Rosandy and Edward treats Blaze, Starlette, and myself like family, and the feelings are reciprocal. I am set in my flight attendant career, and I hope that I will always have Rosandy and Edward as pet caretakers. We are absolutely grateful to have them in our lives, especially for the love and care they give. Thank you for always going above and beyond for us.”

About: Since adopting my own pup in 2022, I’ve fallen in love with caring for dogs of all kinds—from energetic puppies who need playtime galore to sweet seniors who prefer gentle cuddles. I’ve been the go-to sitter for friends and family, mastering the art of patience, routine, and tail-wagging fun. Working from home means your dog gets constant companionship, potty breaks on schedule, and plenty of affection. Your furry friend will be treated like family! 💕 Since I work from home full-time on weekdays, I’m always around to give your pup constant love, playtime, and frequent potty breaks (my own dog goes out 4+ times a day, so yours will get the same care!). On weekends and days off, I love staying active—whether it’s leisurely walks, park trips, or cozy downtime, I adapt to your dog’s energy level. From high-energy pups to laid-back seniors, I make sure every dog feels at home while sticking to their routine. Let me know your pet’s needs, and I’ll keep their tail wagging! My dog-friendly loft is a cozy, secure space wherever pups are welcome on furniture (including the bed!)—because let’s be honest, snuggles are non-negotiable. To keep things clean and safe, I wipe all paws after walks and tidy up any messes immediately. I’m attentive to each dog’s needs, whether it’s puppy-proofing for curious noses or senior-friendly accommodations. Rest assured, your pup will enjoy a happy, hygienic, and hazard-free stay!
About: I have been a dog lover since I was born. I was a Dog mom to Jack, a rescue Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix for 16 years. He recently passed away on 7.24.26. Taking care of furry friends is a privilege for me now. I live a few blocks from Forest Park which is a great place for long walks with furry friends. I started dog walking when I lived in Asheville,NC while I went to,school at UNCA 15 years ago to make extra money. It ended up being the best part of my days. I have continued to,dog walk on a part time basis and enjoy bonding with dogs. They are absolutely precious animals that need daily exercise, attention and love just as Cesar Millan would say. I have learned so much about dogs through reading Cesar Millans books as well as watching his show. I have been working remotely since the pandemic in 2020, so I always have time to take care of furry friends throughout the day or week. I have a spacious 2 bedroom apartment and one of the bedrooms is dedicated to pets with a pet bed, toys and space to roam around and stay busy.
“Excellent pet sitter! We received pictures and updates regularly. She communicated with us constantly and played with our kitties while we were away! Even brought toys to engage with them! Can’t recommend her enough!!”

“Isabel was absolutely wonderful. She was available in such short notice and took good care of our cat. She has a great personality and our cat loved her. Would 100% recommend her.”
About: I have rescued and cared for animals my whole life. In addition, I’ve done pet sitting, walking and administering medication when needed. Reliable and loving. I am currently working part time but have enough flexibility to help out with your pets…even if you just want someone to keep them company, or check in on them. I will spend quality time with your pet..undivided attention, playtime, affection, walking, feeding and fulfilling needs required by pet/pet owner. Pet will not be confined and becomes a “part of the family”.

Emily has been Coco’s regular dog walker for quite some time, and we truly could not have asked for someone better. She is incredibly reliable, trustworthy, communicative, and most importantly, genuinely cares about Coco. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing that when we were at work, Coco was with someone we completely trusted. Emily was always dependable, kept us updated after their walks, and treated Coco like she was her own. Coco absolutely loves her, which says everything! We’re only parting ways because Emily received an amazing full-time opportunity, otherwise we would happily have kept her as Coco’s walker for years to come. Anyone who has the opportunity to have Emily care for their pet will be incredibly lucky. We’re going to miss her so much and can’t recommend her highly enough. ❤️🐾

Booked Charlie for a last minute 1 hour drop-in visit, due to unexpected/urgent appointments that took me out for the day. My pup is a recently adopted rescue with some reactivity and other idiosyncrasies, and I wasn’t comfortable leaving her with an unknown boarder or daycare. I was upfront about Lala’s issues-in-progress and Charlie was gracious, accommodating and communicative. During the hour-long visit, he sent plenty of photos and met my pup where she was at. Visit went smoothly and I was able to focus on my rather stressful day without having to worry too much about her. Thanks again.

Sylvia is incredibly helpful, responsive, and communicative. She has gone above and beyond with each visit. Most importantly, my cats are comfortable with her and well cared for. It makes being away so much easier knowing they’re in good hands. I highly recommend booking with Sylvia!

Nusta was absolutely incredible. I truly could not have asked for a better person to care for our dog while we were overseas. She went above and beyond in every possible way - taking amazing care of him, vacuuming and helping keep our home clean, bringing in our mail and Farmer’s Dog delivery, and even helping me during an emergency when I lost my debit card. Most importantly, our dog was SO happy. He had the biggest smile on his face when we got home, and it was obvious how comfortable and loved he felt with her. This was an extended trip overseas during such an important time in our lives - we got engaged while we were away - and because of Nusta, I genuinely did not have to worry about a thing back home. I would recommend her to absolutely everyone on this app, without hesitation. We will definitely continue using her because, at this point, our dog has officially welcomed her into the family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Nusta, for taking such incredible care of him and of our home. ❤️

Kiana was fantastic with my dogs! She was super flexible on short notice, set up a meet and greet right away, and asked all the right questions. One of my pups is a senior who requires several medications twice a day, and she handled his care seamlessly. She is trustworthy, kind, and took wonderful care of my dogs. Her communication was great throughout the entire stay. I highly recommend her and will definitely book her again!

Carolina is AMAZING! I just recently moved into my apartment, and was anxious about finding someone to take care of my dog (Staffie mix) and my cat - both senior pets - during a trip to visit family. I'm so glad I chose Carolina, she was absolutely fantastic - extremely professional, caring, and communicative throughout the visit, and I could tell from the first photo she sent that my pets were in great hands. The neighbors in my new building also had great things to say about her once I returned. I'm so grateful for her expert care, and definitely plan to book her again. Highly recommended!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
