I recently had the pleasure of hiring Regina K. as a pet sitter for my cat, Layla, while I was on vacation, and I couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. Regina followed all of the instructions I left for her perfectly and took great care of Layla during each home visit. She was very nice and pleasant to communicate with, which made me feel at ease while I was away. Regina made sure Layla had her treats, wet food, and fresh water, cleaned the litter box thoroughly, and even spent time playing with her—something that meant a lot to me. It was clear that she genuinely cared about Layla’s well-being and comfort. I really appreciate Regina’s help and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive pet sitter. Thank you, Regina!

About: Hi! I’m Wendy, and I love puppies. I speak fluent Spanish and have a basic command of English, enough to communicate with owners and—in case of an emergency—with the vet. I use a translation app on my phone if needed to ensure communication is always clear. Although I don’t have professional certification, I’ve looked after dogs for family and friends my whole life. I know how important your puppy is to you. I will treat your puppy as if it were my own. What I offer: Lots of affection and personalized attention • Safe walks using a harness and leash • Photos and updates during every visit • Full respect for your routine: meals, medication, and schedules • Spotless, smoke-free home • I live in Ozone Park, close to parks My experience: • Caring for small and medium-sized dogs • Shy or senior dogs—I have plenty of patience • Administering oral medication if needed • I work from home, so your dog won't be left alone. For me, the most important thing is your peace of mind and your dog's happiness. Your dog will get all my attention, playtime with toys, and sweet dreams on a cozy bed. I can't wait to meet your furry best friend! My routine begins with dropping my daughter off at school and returning home; during this time, I can look after, play with, bathe, and walk the dogs, and in the afternoon, I pick my daughter up from school. I can also walk the dogs in the afternoon because my husband stays with my daughter. I live in a large apartment where the puppy can play; I don't have a yard, but I live close to a park, so I can take him there so we can play.

About: I have over 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine, including specialty practice, so I’m comfortable recognizing changes in a pet’s behavior or health and can provide an extra level of attention that gives pet parents peace of mind. I have experience caring for puppies, adult dogs, and senior pets, including administering oral medications, following detailed care instructions, and accommodating pets with medical conditions or special needs. I understand that every dog has a unique personality, so I take the time to build trust, keep their routine consistent, and make sure they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. Pet care is already a natural part of my daily routine. I plan my schedule around making sure pets receive consistent care, exercise, meals, and attention. Whether it’s morning walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or evening cuddles, I prioritize keeping each pet on their normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. Because I work in veterinary medicine, I’m organized, dependable, and used to following detailed care instructions. I make time every day to provide individualized care and regular updates to pet parents, so they can feel confident their pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while they’re away. My priority is creating a safe, calm, and stress-free environment while keeping pets on their normal routine. In a client’s home, I carefully follow all feeding schedules, walking routines, medication instructions, and household rules so pets can stay comfortable in a familiar environment. I always make sure doors, gates, and harnesses are secure before walks and keep a close eye on each pet during outdoor time. I believe communication is just as important as great care, so I provide regular photo updates and check-ins to keep pet parents informed and give them peace of mind. With my veterinary background, I’m comfortable recognizing changes in a pet’s behavior or health and know when something requires immediate attention. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and respect, caring for them as if they were my own.

About: I have taken care of pets from friends and family since I was 10 years old. Overtime, I have developed an ability to make dogs and cats feel at home and welcomed through proper time and attention, the key for anyone and any animal to feel loved. Changing wet pads, showering and bathing pets, running and playing with dogs, and cuddling with animals are second nature to me and I have years of experience doing each. Currently, I am working full time 9am-5pm during the weekdays. Outside of those hours, having the pet come with me on outdoor activities when weather allows and staying inside to lounge around are common. I usually see it as an excuse to keep active during my sedentary office lifestyle. Time in = trust out. Building trust and making your pet feel safe and sound is one of my main priorities. In order for that bond to exist, consistent attention and care is needed. From proper feeding, regular walking, and rigorous playing, pets in my care will return back to you in good spirits.

Emily took such wonderful care of my cats, Tigerlily and Dante, and we are all very grateful for her. This was our first time leaving our cats behind. We were nervous but Emily made the whole experience completely stress-free with her kindness, consistent updates, and genuine love for animals. Tigerlily is usually pretty shy, and Dante loves attention, but somehow Emily made both of them feel so comfortable and cared for. She sent sweet photos and messages that really reassured me they were happy, and getting lots of love while we were away. When we came home, both cats were relaxed and had clearly enjoyed their time with her. It’s obvious that Emily genuinely cares about the animals she watches, and that kind of trust and warmth means everything. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and thoughtful cat sitter. Five stars without hesitation!

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ozone Park. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
