About: I’m an animal lover and experienced cat caretaker with over 10 years of hands-on experience raising two wonderful cats. I’m attentive, patient, and committed to making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their families are away. I communicate clearly, stay organized, and treat every home and pet with the same care I give my own. I can always accommodate your lovely pet into my schedule, the only thing I ask is at least 2 days notice to organize my schedule Whether be it a shy pet or an outgoing and friendly one, I keep an eye out for what may trigger them and act cautiously to avoid any accidents or misshaps
About: Hi! I’m a reliable and caring pet sitter with several years of experience both pet sitting and working in an animal hospital as a veterinary assistant. Through my work, I’ve gained hands-on experience handling dogs and cats of all temperaments, supporting their care, and becoming familiar with recognizing when something may be off. At the same time, my approach to pet sitting is always centered around making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their home environment. I’m also a pet owner to my 11-year-old girl, so I know firsthand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I treat every pet like my own—with patience, care, and lots of love. Pet care is a natural part of my weekly routine. I currently work as a veterinary assistant, so I am already around animals regularly and used to maintaining consistent care schedules. Outside of work, I plan my availability around pet sitting bookings to ensure I can give each pet the time and attention they need. This includes morning and evening visits, walks, feeding schedules, and check-ins depending on the pet’s routine. Because I’m also a pet owner myself, caring for animals is already built into my daily life. I’m used to early mornings, structured feeding times, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for throughout the day. I’m very intentional about only accepting bookings I can fully commit to, so each pet receives reliable, attentive care. When I arrive, I follow all instructions exactly as provided to maintain your pet’s normal routine and comfort. I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, and that litter boxes or walking needs are taken care of promptly. During each visit, I also spend time engaging with your pet based on their personality—whether that’s playtime, companionship, or giving them space if they are more independent. I keep your home clean, organized, and secure while I’m there, and I always double-check doors, gates, and any safety instructions before leaving. I also provide updates so you can feel confident knowing how your pet is doing while you’re away.
About: What differentiates me is the love and patience I give to each pet. I have experience with puppies and older dogs that need special care and shy rescue puppies. I treat each pet as if it were mine and always keep the owners informed with photos and messages. Pet care is part of my everyday life. I enjoy spending time with animals in the mornings and evenings, and I always make sure pets receive walks, playtime, and attention throughout the day. My schedule is flexible, so I can adjust to the needs of each pet and provide reliable, loving care whenever it’s needed. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. In my home, pets always have a clean and cozy space, fresh water, and regular walks or playtime. I make sure the environment is safe, secure, and free of hazards. In a client’s home, I follow their routines carefully, respect their rules, and provide regular updates with photos so owners can feel at ease knowing their pets are happy and cared for
“Kyra was absolutely wonderful - I could not recommend her more. She provided detailed daily updates, lots of cute pics, and really bonded with my shy cat. She is truly the best!”

About: I am a 27-year-old veterinary professional with over 13 years of hands-on animal care experience. My journey in pet care began at the age of 14 when I started working as a neighborhood dog walker. Over time, my passion for animals evolved into a deeper interest in canine behavior and training, and I began assisting with obedience and behavioral training for dogs of all breeds and temperaments. These early experiences taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and building trust with animals. By the time I was 19, I transitioned into veterinary medicine, where I’ve now worked for over 8 years. My roles have ranged from kennel assistant and veterinary assistant to my current position as a veterinary technician, which I’ve held for the last 3 years. In this role, I provide both routine and advanced medical care, including administering medications (oral, injectable, and topical), monitoring anesthesia during surgery, assisting in diagnostics, performing lab work, and educating pet owners on home care and wellness. I’ve worked extensively with dogs and cats of all ages, from energetic puppies and kittens to senior pets requiring specialized geriatric care. I am particularly skilled in handling animals with anxiety, chronic illnesses, and post-operative needs. My background in clinical veterinary settings has given me the confidence and expertise to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations. What sets me apart from other sitters is not just my love for animals, but the depth of my medical and behavioral knowledge, my ability to handle special-needs pets, and my commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and individualized care. Whether your pet needs a long walk, medication, or just a gentle, trustworthy presence while you’re away, I bring a level of professionalism and experience that ensures peace of mind My schedule can vary since I’m currently attending college and working, but I make it a priority to be available when needed—especially when bookings are scheduled in advance. I’m highly organized and committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance, which allows me to carve out dedicated time for pet care. Whether it’s early morning walks, evening check-ins, or full-day care on weekends, I make sure your pets receive the time, attention, and affection they deserve. I understand how important reliability is when it comes to pet care, and I always communicate clearly with clients to ensure their pets’ routines are respected. I provide a safe, structured, and loving environment for every pet in my care. I have a securely fenced backyard that allows for safe outdoor play and three friendly, well-socialized dogs that are used to sharing their space. Pets are supervised at all times, and I make it a point to keep them engaged and comforted, especially when they may be feeling separation anxiety. Cleanliness, comfort, and emotional well-being are top priorities in my home, and I ensure your pet feels like part of the family during their stay.
About: I have taken care of pets from friends and family since I was 10 years old. Overtime, I have developed an ability to make dogs and cats feel at home and welcomed through proper time and attention, the key for anyone and any animal to feel loved. Changing wet pads, showering and bathing pets, running and playing with dogs, and cuddling with animals are second nature to me and I have years of experience doing each. Currently, I am working full time 9am-5pm during the weekdays. Outside of those hours, having the pet come with me on outdoor activities when weather allows and staying inside to lounge around are common. I usually see it as an excuse to keep active during my sedentary office lifestyle. Time in = trust out. Building trust and making your pet feel safe and sound is one of my main priorities. In order for that bond to exist, consistent attention and care is needed. From proper feeding, regular walking, and rigorous playing, pets in my care will return back to you in good spirits.

About: What sets me apart is the level of care and intuition I bring to every animal I work with. I’m not just a sitter—I genuinely understand dogs on a deeper level. I’ve helped deliver puppies, cared for senior dogs with patience and attention to their changing needs, and I have hands-on experience rehabilitating abused and neglected animals. That means I’m calm, observant, and able to read behavior quickly—whether it’s a nervous rescue or an energetic puppy still learning boundaries. I’m especially comfortable with puppies (potty training, basic commands, structure) and senior dogs who need a slower pace, medication, or extra comfort. I also naturally go above and beyond—whether that’s making sure routines are followed closely, giving extra affection, or keeping a close eye on subtle changes in behavior or health. Outside of sitting, caring for animals is just part of who I am. I regularly feed and look out for stray animals, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. Your pet won’t just be watched—they’ll be understood, protected, and genuinely cared for. As an only child, I’ve always found a deep sense of comfort and connection in caring for dogs. Being able to meet their needs, earn their trust, and give them love brings me a genuine sense of purpose and fulfillment. It’s something that feels natural to me, and it’s a big part of why I’m so dedicated to the care I provide. I have a large, fully fenced yard with low grass, which creates a safe and comfortable space for dogs to walk, play, run, and enjoy plenty of outdoor time.
“We’ve used Laura a few times for our cat and will continue to use her as our regular Rover! She is timely, very communicative, and overall fantastic. Highly recommend.”

“First time having a ca sitter who wasn’t a personal friend and they put me at ease with the whole thing. Very kind but still professional and my cat instantly got along with them which was great!”

About: Growing up, I had the joy of loving and caring for an 80-pound, goofy, American Pitt Bull Terrier, named Meryn. Throughout my high school years, he was my constant companion, playing catch at the East River Park on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. We would jog across the Williamsburg Bridge and run up and down the stairwell in my apartment building to burn off energy (we lived on the 11th floor). He was an incredibly curious boy, who made training fun. He was very motivated by treats and praise. Through repetition and treats he learned all the basic commands. I have petsat many times for family members over the years. Pets included are dogs (large and small breeds) cats, hamsters, and a bearded dragon once. My longest dogsitting experience lasted 3 weeks with my aunt’s pug, Coco Rico, while my aunt was on vacation. During this time, Rico had an ear infection and I had to administer his ear drops. Being a pug, I had to ensure his eyes and face folds were clean. I have catsit for my brother’s diabetic cat, Tuna Fish, on several occasions. I administered insulin injections daily. I learned how to measure the proper dosage and how to safely/comfortably give her the injections. She was diagnosed with diabetes in 2020, so it was not easy learning how to give a cat a shot via a Zoom call with the vet! But learning this and helping my brother with the insulin injections, kept Tuna going for 4 more years after diagnosis. This is by far the most medical care experience I have had with pets. Nowadays, I regularly borrow my Gen Z daughter’s dog, Espresso. He’s a Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix, and my favorite little guy. My grandpup, if you will. With this past winter being a very cold one in NYC, I ensured to dress Espresso in his sweater, coat, and boots for his walks. I do photo shoots with him while on walks, during play time, and naps. I update her with anecdotes throughout the day, such as mentioning any puppy pals we ran into while out and anything funny or adorable he’s done. She even recently said to me, “You take the most wonderful pictures of him.” That truly warmed my heart because I love capturing him in different places and poses. My pet baby now is an American short hair cat with calico patterned fur, named Basil (aka Ms. Lady Boop Boop). She’s a 16 year old, still feisty gal, who has a favorite fishy toy that dangles from a wand. Being a senior, she has developed arthritis in her old age and now makes use of cushioned stairs to get on the couch/bed. She also needs an eye ointment, the application of which has become part of our daily routine. In the past, when she has been ill, I've also given her medicine in liquid form via syringe as well as getting her to swallow a pill. Additionally, I took care of a feral cat that would visit me now and then. My family has a home in Albany, in upstate New York, and I'm happy to board dogs up there for weekends or extended stays should a pet parent allow it. The feral cat that would visit me was in Albany and would appear randomly in our backyard. I fed and watered him whenever he came by. He was deaf and the sweetest guy, who loved rubs and to hang out on our deck. He had an extra digit on each front paw, so I dubbed him Thumbs. One day, when he visited, I noticed immediately that he had fleas on him. I gave him a bath a kiddy tub in my backyard with flea shampoo. I bought the flea comb and collar and got rid of those pesky bugs. I know he was grateful because he'd been scratching so hard, his fur was missing in some places. I am a visual artist and writer, working from home, so my weekdays are flexible. I set my own schedule working on my projects so I can easily accommodate different pet types and time slots for care. I occasionally travel to my family home in Albany, upstate New York, but I always plan that ahead of time and I am happy to board pets up there if the pet parent is open to that option. I live in a 2-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, NYC. I am located on the 3rd (and top) floor of a walk-up building. I have a senior, female cat, who is very relaxed and sleeps most of the day. There is no outdoor space here, but there are local parks nearby, including a dog run. I also have a house upstate, in Albany, NY. There is plenty of space for running around here, including a backyard. We are currently having a fence put in and I will update this when it is installed.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Woodhaven
Rosandy and Edward treats Blaze, Starlette, and myself like family, and the feelings are reciprocal. I am set in my flight attendant career, and I hope that I will always have Rosandy and Edward as pet caretakers. We are absolutely grateful to have them in our lives, especially for the love and care they give. Thank you for always going above and beyond for us.

Once again, Melanie and Veronica saved the day when my schedule got complicated. They are efficient, flexible, highly reliable, and absolute pleasures to work with. Leaving my two senior cats is stress-free because I know they are in the best possible hands. I cannot recommend them enough!
Emily took such wonderful care of my cats, Tigerlily and Dante, and we are all very grateful for her. This was our first time leaving our cats behind. We were nervous but Emily made the whole experience completely stress-free with her kindness, consistent updates, and genuine love for animals. Tigerlily is usually pretty shy, and Dante loves attention, but somehow Emily made both of them feel so comfortable and cared for. She sent sweet photos and messages that really reassured me they were happy, and getting lots of love while we were away. When we came home, both cats were relaxed and had clearly enjoyed their time with her. It’s obvious that Emily genuinely cares about the animals she watches, and that kind of trust and warmth means everything. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and thoughtful cat sitter. Five stars without hesitation!

Raul did an excellent job pet sitting for Gunner. He made sure to follow instructions my husband and I gave him, which gave us a peace of mind. When something wasn’t completely clear, he checked in with me, I really appreciated that level of communication and care. It’s safe to say he’s doing a great job getting to know both us and Gunner, and we feel comfortable trusting him with our dog. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
