“Steven was perfect with our dog, sent amazing pictures and video, and kept us updated on how he was doing. Steven’s dogs are adorable and were the perfect playmates. We will absolutely be booking again very soon. Thank you!”

“Iwona was fantastic and updated me frequently. She was very kind to my dog, who has a lot of anxiety but Iwona handled it with a lot of grace and seemed like my dog didn't want to come back from having such a good time Would recommend!”

“Laura is seriously the best sitter ever. I’m so grateful I found someone I trust this much with my dog. He absolutely loves her and gets so excited every time he sees her. She always keeps me updated with pictures and messages, which gives me so much peace of mind. She’s genuinely one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and you can truly see how much love and passion she has for animals. She treats every dog like her own and goes above and beyond every time. My dog always comes home so happy. I honestly couldn’t recommend her more, she’s an amazing person inside and out.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Stephanie as our dog sitter! She took care of my dog overnight and did an amazing job. I received daily updates and adorable photos, which made me feel so at ease. She was incredibly pleasant, accommodating, and truly seemed to care about my pet's well-being. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“judith, is an awesome caregiver, she kept me informed throughout the day with text updates and photos, my baby girl Bella came home well care for and happy I would definitely be rebooking with her often. five stars”

“What a lovely person - I’d give her 100 stars if that were an option. To explain, I had to go into my office LAST minute and at 1230 am it was my first time using this app and I posted requests for someone to basically dog sit for the same day- she was immediately responsive even though it was a last minute request. I saw she had already gotten consistent great reviews and I was worried to leave my 7 week old shih tsu (like a baby) with anyone ) -Jameeka she handles all dog ages - she was responsive, kept me updated throughout the day. I even got stuck in traffic on the way for pick up and was late she was fine. The top 3 reasons I give Jameeka 5 stars is because 1) she is the opposite of stressful and worked with my unique needs, 2) she has great communication skills snd 3) it is clear she is an expert - my puppy was returned perfectly she gave me some updates and my puppy was happy and fell right asleep because Jameeka ensured my puppy got play time and exercise time - thank you !”

About: Hi! My name is Sara and I love dogs. My two rescues and I live in a four family house in Glendale with plenty of indoor and outdoor space to play. Sadie and Philly love to have pals over and love making new friends. Dog handling is in my blood. My grandmother was a breeder and trainer for Guide Dogs of America. Because of her, I have experience with pregnant mothers and newborns. My knack for leash and obedience training came from her as well. I used to manage a dog daycare in Brooklyn and run my own dog walking business back in the day. Now I work from home and have all the time in the world to hang out with dogs! Growing up, my parents had a malamute, a Dalmatian, a lab/setter mix, and a lab/pittie mix. I raised these dogs with my father and learned to care for animals starting from a very young age. My father was a professional dog trainer in Southern California and worked specifically with rescues from kill shelters and aggressive dogs. He taught me everything he knew about training them. Though my first encounters with dogs had been bigger breeds, I found a warm spot in my heart for small breeds I met when I moved to the city. I love all dogs. Our house is perfect for your pet because it is on a quiet street in a quiet neighborhood with its own private backyard. There aren't too many rules here. There are five steps leading up to the house and five steps to the backyard. If your dog is older or has joint issues, this may be worth a consideration. I am experienced and capable to help dogs up and down stairs, but it may not be the best fit if it would stress your pup out. In a perfect world, we could make the arrangements for our dogs to meet at a dog park nearby before the boarding dates, but I realize that everyone has busy schedules and that may not always be possible. At the very least, I would like to meet you and your dog beforehand. I offer a pickup and drop-off service for an additional fee and introduce my dogs to new dogs on neutral territory with a long walk. I have been doing this professionally since 2015. The amenities in my space, my extensive experience, and the wonderful time your pup will have with us are what make staying with us extra special. It truly is your pup's second home. Hope you choose to board with us! I have pets so it is built into my routine and since I work from home, we can keep a regular schedule. I feed them twice a day and walk them twice a day and let them out for breaks in the yard throughout the day. I have a fenced yard with dog friendly plants that dogs can hang out in. Sadie and Phil are always able to make a pup feel comfortable away from home.
“Lauren was very accommodating when I had to reschedule my appointment and I was happy we could work out alternate plans. I was kept updated throughout Albert's stay and will reach out to Lauren again.”

About: I am a pet rescue expert who has always had a soft spot for animals.I've volunteered for numerous animal shelters and fostered for rescue groups. My love for animals started at a young age where I found myself aiding neglected animals of all types. I've saved dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, roadants, you name it! I quickly became the “go-to” girl for animals in need. Needless to say, your pet will be in great hands as I take my responsibility of any animal serious. I am experienced with all breeds and sizes. I have a big boy of my own. A 90 lb Blue Nose Pitbull named Prince. Last fun fact - i've created a show around my love for animals and would be happy to share it with you :) I currently work from home and can take breaks during the day to walk your pet or do pop in visits. I'm also free during the evenings and weekends to sit. I will Follow a Schedule and pet proof the home. While chewing on toys or bones, your pet will be monitored. I can also distribute medicine as needed (experienced). I'm also knowledgable of poisonous foods and will watch your pet as my own.
“Kaylee is so kind and accommodating. I brought my dog to her home for daycare and he was under the weather the whole time but Kaylee made him feel so loved and cared for. She truly treats them like family and makes them feel at home. My dog Frankie didn’t want to leave after I picked him up :)”

“Emily and her family are wonderful people! I’m very grateful to have found them, my dog Ollie has such a fantastic time with them every single time! I have a hectic schedule with work but I know that when I drop Ollie off he is in great hands! Emily is kind, responsive, polite and overall a great person. She is super understanding and flexible, a true animal lover and caring person. Definitely would recommend and will be returning back!”

“Ms. Anamika was phenomenal with our puppy who suffers with separation anxiety. He got to exercise in her backyard and had so much room to explore and be curious. She provided pictures and videos to put our minds at ease while his dad and I went to work. We definitely recommend and will be using her services again. Peace and blessings, Amanda, Tanner and Ragnar Ganesh.”

“I am really thankful I found Arianna. My dog warmed up to her very quickly , she gives helpful updates and I am so thankful for how accommodating she is. Sway & I thank you.”

“Rachel is amazing! I was very impressed at our first meeting. She asked if I had time for a walk with her and her dog Rockz. As we walked we talked and I felt comfortable leaving Kamaria in her care. She introduced another dog to Kamaria on our return and things went great. She is very knowledgeable of the bully breed and caring with a clean environment. She is very active with Kamaria. She loves going to daycare with Rachel as she gets so excited waiting to go inside. We will definitely use Rachel again! Thank you”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Woodhaven
Peggy and Anthony were terrific with our very active young cockapoo. Even though our dog stayed with them for the first time, it was as if she knew them all this time. Peggy and Anthony were also very responsive, warm, understanding and easy to talk to about the dog’s needs. We look forward to having them take care of our dog again in the future.

Sara accepted our last minute request to take care of our doggo Frankie. She has been the kindest and cared for our pup as if he’a her own :) She also has two pups at home so Frankie felt more confident being around his kind ahha. I would recommend her to everyone: responsive, reliable, caring— full package! Thank you Sara!

Janie was great with our senior dog who is very anxious. Janie went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable for the day. She sat with him, let him explore, and gave him a lot of attention. She was very thoughtful with her questions in order to really understand his needs and updated us throughout the day. We will definitely book with her again.

Dawson's safety and comfort is always my top priority so having to find a new sitter made me feel very anxious. I shouldn't have worried though because from the first meet and greet to the two daycare visits that Emely has completed with Dawson, she's made both of us feel comfortable. She communicates well with pics and updates, provides stimulating walks and enrichment, and respects when Dawson is anxious or needs space. Her dog, Hercules, is also very playful and good to Dawson. I will definitely use her again in the future.

I needed a sitter last minute for my dog and managed to find Nina. She’s friendly and professional, She took amazing care of Ziggy, she kept me updated throughout the day and it was a really good match. She took him on walks and played with him he was very happy and tired when I picked him up I will be booking with her again.

I really love the experience. It was my first time in Rover. I was in NY as a tourist and I was so tense about letting my little one. But Safiya is so nice and gentle and kind that I just relaxed the time I put my eyes on her. Her doggo Kanie is a bunch of joy. He is energetic, funny and warm. Safiya updated me every time, texting and sending me photos. Coco was relaxed and interacting with Safiya. In the second day, Coco just lead me to Safiya's door, wagging her tail. If you want a safe and warm place to let your little doggy, Safiya is amazing.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Woodhaven commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
