“Our usual sitter who’s heaven sent is currently going through a personal trial and had to put a pause on dog sitting. So we turned to Rover and found Shanna. And we couldn’t be happier. She updated us throughout the day which made us feel at ease. She enjoys what’s she does and she’s such a sweetheart. We truly found another great sitter. Our dogs came home and went straight to their beds to take a nap. She played with them all day. She’s also very compassionate. She encountered an unexpected event and she updated us and actually mollified our concerns. There is something calming about someone who takes pride in what they do. And that is what Shanna was. And her mother and family are sweet. We will be booking with her again. And again……and again.”

“I had a wonderful experience with Stephanie as our dog sitter! She took care of my dog overnight and did an amazing job. I received daily updates and adorable photos, which made me feel so at ease. She was incredibly pleasant, accommodating, and truly seemed to care about my pet's well-being. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“What a lovely person - I’d give her 100 stars if that were an option. To explain, I had to go into my office LAST minute and at 1230 am it was my first time using this app and I posted requests for someone to basically dog sit for the same day- she was immediately responsive even though it was a last minute request. I saw she had already gotten consistent great reviews and I was worried to leave my 7 week old shih tsu (like a baby) with anyone ) -Jameeka she handles all dog ages - she was responsive, kept me updated throughout the day. I even got stuck in traffic on the way for pick up and was late she was fine. The top 3 reasons I give Jameeka 5 stars is because 1) she is the opposite of stressful and worked with my unique needs, 2) she has great communication skills snd 3) it is clear she is an expert - my puppy was returned perfectly she gave me some updates and my puppy was happy and fell right asleep because Jameeka ensured my puppy got play time and exercise time - thank you !”

“Francesca was an amazing sitter! This was my first time leaving Louis with someone, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He instantly connected with Francesca and her sweet pup, Alvin. She kept me updated with lots of cute pictures. Louis looked so relaxed and happy in every photo. I’m grateful Francesca was available to care for Louis. I will definitely reach out for future bookings. I highly recommend!”

About: Ive been caring for a wide range of animals since i was 11 years old. Parakeets, rabbits, frogs, dogs and cats. Im currently taking care a senior dog of my own who is 15yrs old, and I am also enrolled in classes to become a Veterinary Technician. I work from home, so I currently have full availability Monday through Sunday, your pet will not be left alone at all. I’m also available daily for evening walks or drop-ins. My schedule allows me to provide consistent and reliable care without overbooking. I proactively remove anything pets could trip over, chew on, or accidentally ingest. For high energy animals, I make sure the space is secure and free of items that could be knocked over or cause injury. During walks, I stay extremely attentive to our surroundings. I’m very aware of other dogs’ body language and will always cross the street or change routes if I sense potential reactivity or if your pet shows any signs of discomfort. I prioritize calm, controlled, and positive experiences at all times

“Ivy had such a wonderful stay with Dayana. She was very prompt and kept us up to date on how she was doing with lots of pictures and videos. We will definitely be asking Dayana again in the future to take care of her!”

“Sara accepted our last minute request to take care of our doggo Frankie. She has been the kindest and cared for our pup as if he’a her own :) She also has two pups at home so Frankie felt more confident being around his kind ahha. I would recommend her to everyone: responsive, reliable, caring— full package! Thank you Sara!”

“Deja went above and beyond. She offered a video call for a virtual tour 😊. Early morning drop off was seamless. 🙂 Deja communicates easily and I got photos of my relaxed Noah throughout the day. I highly recommend Deja!”

“Kaylee is so kind and accommodating. I brought my dog to her home for daycare and he was under the weather the whole time but Kaylee made him feel so loved and cared for. She truly treats them like family and makes them feel at home. My dog Frankie didn’t want to leave after I picked him up :)”

“My Georgia loved Ai so much that when she dropped her off at the end of the day, Georgia tried to walk away with her! Ai sent us pictures and videos throughout the day to let us know how Georgia was doing, and gave her lots of outdoor time in the sun. When Georgia came home she was happy and tuckered out (in a good way!)”

“The excitement Cheese had when I dropped him off as the days went showed that Cheese really enjoyed his time with Lenford. I really appreciated the pictures during the day and during pickup I got a download on Cheese’s activities throughout the day (he mainly napped). I’d use Lenford again for any of my pet needs!”

“This was my fur baby, Milo’s first time attending daycare. Initially, I was concerned about how he would adjust to a new environment. The fact that Stephanie provided me with pictures and contacted me prior to his stay made me feel more comfortable leaving him with her. It was a pleasant surprise to see Stephanie had created a welcoming environment and her fur baby was also present, which I felt was an excellent opportunity for Milo to be able to socialize with other dogs. In addition to toys and treats, Stephanie provided Milo with everything he needed to feel comfortable. Additionally, Stephanie sent many updates and pictures of Milo throughout the day. As soon as I picked him up, I could tell he had enjoyed his stay and that he would be returning in the future. Stephanie, thank you so much for taking such excellent care of Milo!”

“Rachel is amazing! I was very impressed at our first meeting. She asked if I had time for a walk with her and her dog Rockz. As we walked we talked and I felt comfortable leaving Kamaria in her care. She introduced another dog to Kamaria on our return and things went great. She is very knowledgeable of the bully breed and caring with a clean environment. She is very active with Kamaria. She loves going to daycare with Rachel as she gets so excited waiting to go inside. We will definitely use Rachel again! Thank you”

“Doris is a super nice and responsible person. Very helpful and so caring. I’m so grateful to her for taking care so well of my baby. She always updates with photos and videos and I definitely know that my baby is in good hands.”

“Lauren was very accommodating when I had to reschedule my appointment and I was happy we could work out alternate plans. I was kept updated throughout Albert's stay and will reach out to Lauren again.”

Stephanie was absolutely wonderful with Odin! ❤️ She took such great care of him and treated him like he was her own. Dawson's safety and comfort is always my top priority so having to find a new sitter made me feel very anxious. I shouldn't have worried though because from the first meet and greet to the two daycare visits that Emely has completed with Dawson, she's made both of us feel comfortable. She communicates well with pics and updates, provides stimulating walks and enrichment, and respects when Dawson is anxious or needs space. Her dog, Hercules, is also very playful and good to Dawson. I will definitely use her again in the future.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your East New York commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
