“Lenford is great with my dachshund, Isles. He’s always early and stays a little extra to make sure my anxious pup feels safe before he heads out. Lenford plays with him too, and Isles is always thrilled to see him, running up with excitement. Really happy with his help!”

About: I grew up with a medium sized dog and have watched my neighbor’s dog when they were on vacation since I was young. I especially enjoy shy dogs and big personalities. I’m currently working full-time, and I have time for pet care on evenings and weekends. I will start having more daytime flexibility starting June 12. This summer I will be able to reliably look after your pets all week and on weekends. I provide regular check ins with photos of your pet and details on how they are doing. I follow detailed and specific instructions very well.
About: Animal care is my biggest passion. I’ve recently graduated college with a degree in biology, where I often volunteered at shelters for animal care experience. I’ve taken care of cats, dogs, and even birds and turtles for as long as I can remember. My friends and family know they can rely on me when away for vacation to drop in and play with their pets, keep their pets company, and walk and feed their pets. I don’t think I’ve ever met a pet that doesn’t like me! So I’m so excited to help those in my community with animal care. I work on call only part time, so I’m available most hours of the week and some weekends. I would prefer early mornings or evenings, but I am ready for anything! In my clients home the first thing I do, in the case of a dog, is take them for a walk as it might’ve been hours since they’ve last been out. Sometimes I will let them in the yard if it is late at night, but I find longer walks will use up all their energy so they can nap well until the next time I pop in. Then it’s time for food and water refill, which if they’re reluctant to eat, I will wait with them to make sure they at least eat some. Then it’s play time/enrichment time where I try to get the last of their energy out. If I’m watching cats, I’ll feed them first and as they eat is my time to clean out the litter box. Cats also need tons of play time, so after they eat I’ll find any toys to keep them entertained for my time there. The hardest part for me is leaving them!
“Reliable and flexible sitter, was able to drop in twice a day for an extended period of time! Attentive and did all that was asked. Highly recommend !!”

“Kate was excellent! She was communicative and flexible. She understood my cats specific needs and even followed up about food supplements that I forgot to mention in the feeding instructions. Would love to have her watch my cat again!”

About: Hi! I’m Erin, a responsible and attentive animal lover based in NYC. I’ve always had a special soft spot for cats and appreciate how unique their personalities are, from playful explorers to quiet observers who just want a cozy companion nearby. I’m naturally patient, calm, and observant, which helps me tune into each cat’s needs and comfort level. Whether your cat loves interactive play, gentle affection, or simply having a peaceful presence in their space, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, so I treat every home and every cat with care, respect, and attention to detail. My goal is always to make sure your cat feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
About: Hi, my name is Erik! I have worked for local businesses (As well as Wag so I have a bit of app experience too) walking, training, boarding, and sitting dogs for a little over 7 years now. I love animals, being outside, and meeting new pups. Located in Bushwick, I'm a quick bike ride away from Williamsburg, Bed Stuy, Ridgewood, etc. I have no problem taking the train to further neighborhoods as well. I've lived in New York for a 11 years now so navigating around the city is no issue. I was raised in a animal loving house and couldn't be happier working with the them. I'm a jack of all trades and a big worker. I love the freedom of setting my own schedule and being outside getting my steps in. I get down to their level and let them inspect/smell me. I tend to pass the sniff test. I don't mind taking the time to wait until the pup is comfortable before going on our walk.
“Megan was absolutely lovely to work with and incredibly reliable. She took a ton of photos and it’s obvious my cat really enjoyed his time with her!! I will definitely be hiring her again and again!!!”

About: I usually work with shy, aggressive or fearful dogs or cats. It can take weeks, months or years to befriend them but when you do it's extremely rewarding, especially when an animal someone deems "dangerous" comes out to be the biggest sweetheart. I have tons of patience and I believe every species of animal deserves love and respect. As humans, it's our duty to be the voices and guardians of the animals in our care. They look to us for comfort, guidance, love and peace. That's why I do anything in my power to donate or volunteer at animal shelters because every animal should know that there's humans out there that actually care about their well being. Working with animals is a great career for me. Update; 8/2020 I’ve been volunteering and working with pets as a professional pet care provider for five years now. Through my journey I’ve learned pet CPR and gained dog training knowledge through Poochpals llc as well as worked as a dog handler at walterspetstyles. I’m currently working on becoming a certified dog trainer and furthering my knowledge on Pet care. At Poochpals we believe in being a friend for life so I’m definitely bringing our motto into the field and looking to become a furever friend for your pets. If you’re ever in need of an actual PROFESSIONAL pet care provider, look no further! I also have basic training knowledge so don’t be surprised if your pup or cat comes back knowing a few new tricks 😂 I have open availability Monday-Sunday. I look forward to meeting you and your pups! My dog, Odin, loves to make new friends of all species. Updates:4/7/2026 Hello friends! I would not be at 29 Hanford anymore due to instability, so I’m moving my business down to NYC before heading to PA. We have multiple fences in house and around the property. Pups are also supervised 24/7 and we have a designated dog room just for them. Back porch is also secured with gates. Dogs aren’t allowed on the lawn without human supervision and a 20ft leash. Lawn is fenced. We have strict safety procedures when it comes down to pets and children.

About: I love dogs! We’ve both had dogs as pets since we were kids. We love spending time with your pups and getting a bit of extra love and personality. I am currently working full time from home with my husband Dan. We both have flexible schedules for walks, dog park visits or play time in our backyard. You can expect your pup to get lots of love and attention while they’re in our home. We host only one dog family at a time so we can provide more individualized care. We have a large townhouse space with a fenced in backyard - plenty of space for pups to relax. We have dog beds and toys set up in all rooms so your pets can have their own space wherever they feel comfortable. Since we only watch one family at a time we’re able to provide a lot of extra care and attention to your pup’s needs during the day. Please provide your own dog food and treats to avoid stomach upsets during your pet’s stay.
East New York cat parents share their Rover experiences
Rhea was awesome. She seamlessly integrated into what our needs were, helped set up a plan, and then executed with precision and care. I never felt more comfortable leaving the country for a week as my concerns were addressed up front and I was kept well informed throughout, even when I needed to make special requests during the trip. I will absolutely use her again. Top notch!!! Regards, Ray (happy dad of two kittens)

This was the third time Kate took care of Xtina. She came by every day to look after X during my 12 days away. Kate sent cute updates every day (pics and a note) so I knew my cat was being well taken care of. Kate is reliable, consistent, and thoughtful. Looking forward to working with you again soon!

katherine is one of the most responsive and communicative sitters i've ever had! the 5 star rating is very understandable. followed instructions to a T and left a very detailed report, which was so helpful. your baby will feel like they are taken care of, guaranteed! would love to work with katherine again.

Another fantastic set of visits with Mark! All three of our cats love him and he goes above and beyond to make them feel comfortable while we’re away. My wife and I look forward to his messages, photos, and videos - they add so much joy and comfort to our trips!

Victoria is the absolute best and I’m so happy I’ve met her through Rover. I used to get anxious leaving my cat when I traveled but I definitely don’t anymore knowing that Oliver is in her care. She brings him new toys and puts on cat tv with him, will take the time to sit with him for longer than her visit free of charge, and cleans even though it is not required. Thanks so much again, Victoria :)
