About: I’ve been a pet owner for some time and have had a Husky previously. I’m familiar with how to handle high energy breeds, big dogs and medium sized. I’m a full time dog walker available during the week and also enjoy walking dogs in the evenings and weekends. I have had my own dogs in the past and understand the importance of regular exercise. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment that is very spacious and accommodating. I have lots of dog toys and treats. Whether I’m watching a dog at my house or yours I understand that mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise.

“Afiya is so great, she's really kind and thorough making sure the pets are well taken care of. I feel very calm knowing she's with them when I'm working and I would 100% recommend her if you need a pet sitter!! I'm so grateful to have found her here!”

“Avary is absolutely amazing! Such a sweet person that loves animals and with patience and a few Churus was able to win my cat Hanna over! Avary sent us multiple pictures and checked every detail with us to make sure we knew our kitty was taken care of. Thank you Avary! 100% would recommend 🥰🫶🏼”

“Desiree is absolutely amazing! I asked her to watch my elderly cat, Marley, for 9 days a bit last minute and she responded so quickly to take us on! She was great with communication and set up a time to meet Marley before I left :) I was a bit nervous to leave my cat for so long since she’s older, but Desiree made me feel so at ease. It was obvious she took her visits very seriously, and was so sweet/affectionate with Marley. I could tell through pictures and videos Marley loved her and felt comfortable as well! It also helped so much she would give daily updates. I can’t recommend Desiree enough and I will definitely be asking her to check on Marley again!”

“Ashley is amazing!! She was super communicative and understanding about my senior cat, Penny, being moody, and she was able to fit me in last minute for the holidays. Penny was happy and purring when I got home, so I know she was well taken care of! Ashley made sure my trip was stress-free, and I will definitely be booking again!!”

“Ashanti is easy to coordinate with! She follows all instructions well & I can tell my cat is happy when she visits. I feel at ease knowing she’s checking on him.”

“A great experience! Jackie was very reliable and communicative, as well as patient with my anxious little scaredy-cat. All the updates and photos made me feel at ease while I was away, and I'm very grateful for her attentive care. Will book again!”

“Hannah was absolutely stellar with our extremely shy, older cat! She gave her insulin injections twice a day, as well as a pill medication. Thank you so much, Hannah!! Will definitely be reaching out for our next trip!”

“Vivian was amazing with my kitty Peanut! I had communication with her every visit and she sent multiple pics and updates. Peanut was shy and took some time to warm up to her but Vivian was constant with her attention and helped Peanut to feel secure while we were away. I would hire her again in a heartbeat-if you need a compassionate and dependable person, Vivian is your best bet!”

“Laura was fantastic with Ember! She took great care of her and adapted to her needs, even hand feeding her kibbles when Ember wouldn't eat 🥹. Ember had a great time with Laura and was a happy dog when I got back from my trip. I highly recommend Laura and would book her again!”

“Harriet was amazing! She was communicative, responsive, and alleviated all my concerns at leaving my skittish kitty for the first time. Highly recommend and I won’t hesitate to use her again in the future.”

“Big thanks to Liudmyla for taking great care of our Tadpole! She was punctual, communicative, and patient with our somewhat anxious dog. We’re looking forward to working with Liudmyla again soon!”

“Alexandra did a great job taking care of my shy kitty! She was very patient with my pet and followed my cat's lead on socializing, which I really appreciated. Alexandra was also flexible and accommodating when my sitting and travel plans changed, so I felt very comfortable that my pet was getting the care she needed while I was away. Thanks, Alexandra!”

“James was very communicative and did an excellent job taking care of my two very shy cats while I was away for Christmas. I appreciated the daily updates and that he stopped by to get the tour of my apartment beforehand!”

“Jonathan is awesome, my cat loves him! He is very caring and his summaries from his visits are very detailed. I felt at ease knowing my little girl was in good hands. I will definitely recommend to friends and family.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Brooklyn
We came home to a set of very happy cats. Emily’s daily updates were lovely, they gave us a sense that our cats’ personalities were really coming out in her visits. And of course, she did a great job with the critical stuff - litter, food, water, entry/exit, etc.

We love Sebastian! He always sends the cutest photos of our cat mochi while we are away. This trip he navigated getting into our new apartment with minimal instructions and made us feel very secure knowing Mochi was in excellent hands. I always appreciate that Sebastian spends quality time with Mochi during his visits- stays the full 30 min, and actually plays with her! I’ve had other Rover pet sitters who simply check the food and litter then leave. It’s reassuring to know Sebastian really cares about the wellbeing of our cat. Thank you Sebastian!

Lynn was wonderful! She was communicative, observant, and very detail-oriented. She followed all of my instructions, took great care of my cats, and always kept me updated on any changes or concerns. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in her care while I was away. Would definitely recommend her and work with her again in the future

Elise was sooo good!!! She really was super intentional about being Chai’s friend while dropping in twice a week, clearly took care of him, and went out of their way to send plenty of pics! Would highly recommend Elise if you’re looking for drop in care from someone who actually wants to spend time and be friends with your pet rather than a quick in and out.

Haleyann was such a pleasure to have as a car sitter for my three cats (one of whom requires medicine)! She has such positive energy which I am sure my cats felt - they seemed happy and engaged in all the photos! I was also grateful for her level of observation and common sense overall. She was proactive in communicating with me if anything seemed amiss. It’s great to have someone reliable watching your pets, and I will be booking her again for an upcoming trip!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brooklyn. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
