“Denise was very loving and kind with our dog Squirrel. He is a cuddly boy and absolutely loved being at Denise’s and her husband’s house. They even had a kennel there if needed so we wouldn’t have to lug ours over. A very comfy environment!”

“Just picked up Winston from his second time doing daycare with Abbas, and we couldn’t be happier! Abbas takes care of our dog like he is his own & is super communicative the entire time we’re gone. We are so happy to have found a consistent sitter for Winston and would recommend his services to anyone!”

“Andrej took great care of my pup. I loved getting his daily updates, check-ins, and the care he gave her when she was obviously nervous at first. Upon pickup, it was very clear she had a great time staying with Andrej. I will definitely be booking her again with him!”

“Pamela and her lovely family were perfect hosts for our pup! He got plenty of walks and cuddles, and she sent regular updates. Chester had a great time, and didn't even realize we were gone, ha!”

“I cannot recommend [Dog Sitter’s Name] enough! They took such incredible care of my dog while I was away — attentive, responsible, and genuinely loving. I received regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind. My pup came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It’s such a relief to find someone so trustworthy. Will definitely be booking again!”

“Kyle was absolutely fantastic with Archie. He hosted Archie for boarding for an extended period as I got sick while away, and he was extremely flexible and always responsive within minutes. His daily photo and video updates were much appreciated, and Archie came home very healthy and happy! Will definitely book with Kyle again!”

“Daniel is reliable, friendly, patient with our dog, and has helped us with last minute walks and boarding many times. Our dog is a rescue and is very anxious at baseline; he is very attentive to her mood and comfort level and we know she is safe on walks with Daniel. Highly recommend.”

“Yvette was an excellent host. She was very response and was able to accommodate my schedule as it adjusted. She provided regular photo and video updates showing all the adventures Enyo and Mauby, her dog, were having together. Honestly, after having had Yvette host my dog, it feels like I sent Enyo to summer camp! She came back happy and tired after playing for days! I would love for Yvette to host Enyo again in the future. I'm even wondering if I should make an excuse to go on a trip, just so Enyo and Mauby can have more play time together...”

“Atlas stayed with John & Madeleine for 1.5 weeks, his fourth or fifth time staying with them. He was excited to be dropped off and stay, and I got regular updates. Definitely recommend!”

“Jasmin did a wonderful job watching our dog and cat for five days! She communicated with us throughout their stay and sent daily photos, which we really appreciated. She was also very pleasant and friendly in person, and we felt completely comfortable leaving our pets in her care. Her home provided them with the perfect amount of space to wander around, get comfortable, and relax. It was clear they were well cared for and able to settle in nicely while we were away. We had a great experience with Jasmin and would absolutely trust her with our pets again. Highly recommend!”

“April did an amazing job taking care of Arlo in the Blizzard!! She sent frequent updates and pictures and I was able to rest easy knowing he was in good hands! Book her!”

“Michael watched our doggo, Hastings, while we were away on an anniversary trip. While we were away, Michael was communicative and flexible when we had some travel issues. We felt confident that Hastings was in great hands! We would absolutely book with Michael again!”

“Kira shared pics of Turing, and he seems to have really enjoyed staying at his place. She was also flexible about the pick-up time, which we really appreciate!”

“Joseph was great! He really cared about making sure my dog, Betty, was comfortable. He asked a lot of questions and tried to find innovative ways for her to eat when she initially went on hunger strike (common for her as she’s a small dog). I let him know that she has a sensitive stomach and he was very careful about what she ate and let me know how her walks were going- which was much appreciated Joseph was extremely communicative and accommodating. The setup was great for Betty too as she enjoyed so much playtime in the backyard. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Joseph again!”

“My dog Dobby and I had such a good experience with Anne Charlotte! She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures and updates which I really appreciated. She also did a great job managing Dobbys medication. Her dog Nora seems like such a sweetie and from the pictures it seemed like Dobby and Nora became buddies. Highly recommend!!”

“Renzo was great! We had good communication with photos each day. He was also incredibly understanding about us being a few hours late to pick her up because of a flight delay. We would absolutely him again.”
“Deanna is amazing. She stayed in contact with us and sent pictures with daily reports. Ferris seemed VERY relaxed during his stay with her. We will be requesting more stays at Deanna’s in the future!”

“Salsabilla is very skilled dog sitter. My dog usually has separation anxiety the first few hours of being away from me. She was able to help her relax and settle. I am very, I mean VERY picky about who I leave my dog with. She’s got a genuine love for animals and that makes all the difference.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Brooklyn
A lovely, easy, worry-free experience having our pup stay with Anne-Charlotte for a week. It was our first time boarding him for this long and with someone new but we felt from the start he was in good hands and we we’re right. Our pup has a lot of energy so he loved playing with her dog Norah nonstop and came back home healthy and happy (if only missing his new pal!). Thank you so much again!!!

Rosa Maria was great with Corote! She took really good care of him and sent us frequent updates and photos throughout his stay. It was great to see how he was doing every day. We felt very comfortable leaving him with her and would definitely book with her again. Thank you, Rosa!

♥️♥️♥️ Knives had the best time — I could tell from the photos alone how loved and cozy she felt the whole stay! Communication was so warm and easy, with sweet updates that put my mind completely at ease being away from my little one. She came home happy, relaxed, and clearly smitten. I felt so lucky to have found someone who treats her like family. Can't recommend enough — will absolutely be booking again! Thank you so much Nekisha !!

Danielle was great! She boarded and took care of my cat, Weezy, for just over a week, and everything went smoothly. She was reliable, communicative, and made me feel comfortable knowing Weezy was in good hands while I was away. Weezy came home happy and well cared for. I’d definitely recommend Danielle and would happily book with her again.

Cindy is great! I was looking for a sitter who actually wants to take care of my dog the way I wanted my dog to be taken care of and Cindy did an amazing job. Always quick to respond when I asked for updates. She even bought my dog a toy even though I provided some at drop off. Would recommend!

Phenomenal! I love my baby down and I’m always nervous leaving her with other people because that’s my baby 😭. When I reached out about the booking, I got asked a lot of really good questions up front which was a very positive sign for me, hand off was great, and I had nothing to worry about. Will definitely be booking again

Cynthia was absolutely wonderful with Luna during our boarding stay! Since Luna is older, I was a little nervous leaving her, but Cynthia put me completely at ease. She kept me updated throughout our entire trip, which meant so much and made me feel comfortable and happy knowing Luna was in safe hands. She followed all of Luna's care instructions closely and made sure she was well taken care of the whole time. We would definitely book with Cynthia again! :)

Sarah and her husband were absolutely wonderful with our 11 year-old dog, Brooklyn. They made her feel at home right away and we never worried about her once. They were very responsive and sent us photo updates regularly. We have used several other Rovers over the years and Sarah and family are top notch! Highly recommended.

Kristen was amazing with our dog Nellie while we were out of town. She sent the best updates and was able to capture her silly personality in every one. I could tell Nellie was happy and comfortable with her. We will definitely be reaching out to Kristen again for dog sitting the next time we’re out of town. Thank you!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
