“Katalyna and her family were great with our two dogs! As previous dog owners, we felt confident that they understood how to manage two dogs and especially manage one dog that can be a little bit nervous on leash. They provided daily updates and lots of pictures. We felt very confident that our dogs were getting daily exercise and attention!”

“We love Hannah!! But most importantly so does Dinghy. Hannah takes such good care of our girl and we always have peace of mind leaving Dinghy in her care. Looking forward to next time!”

“Grace took incredibly good care of our beloved cats. Her home was set up beautifully and she was all prepared for them. She was communicative and so caring. She sent us daily updates and lots of photos. Grace clearly loved our little guys and we are so grateful!!! Would absolutely recommend!!!”

“Diana was very responsive and professional with my stay for my young high energy dog. She sent adorable pictures very often which made me happy while I was away. Her home is spacious and clean, and there's a backyard which was perfect for my dog to go potty in the snowy weather during my trip. Would definitely recommend and book again! Thank you Diana!!”

“Michael was great! My dog took to him right away. He was communicative the entire time and took good care of our boy. We will be booking again for our next trip”

About: Animals have always been a part of my life as I've been a sitter for friends, neighbors, and fosters in need. I treat every dog like my own baby. And I mean every dog so bring me your aggressive reactors, your high energy herders, your insecure pups and I will give them a happy vacation home. I got my PhD studying animal behavior, learning, and memory and built my training philosophy based on what I learned. I specialize in behavioral training for puppies and adult dogs to make sure every family can enjoy their four-legged friends without stress. I believe in customizing training and care to each dog and always prioritize the dogs comfort and safety. I work from home so I can board during the week or on weekends. Individual training sessions are available evenings and weekends only. I will occasionally go out in the evenings for a few hours at a time. I don't have a yard but live across the street from prospect Park where your pup will have lots of time to sniff and run around on leash. I don't believe in using dog parks except for training from outside the fence. I have space in my home for a dog bed and/or crate but am happy to allow dogs on my furniture if it's allowed in your home
“Ackee loved staying with Rashad… he is kind and welcoming to her and has been flexible with my schedule. I will definitely bring Ackee back to Rashad in the future!”

“Jorge was lovely: responsible, very communicative and available in a last minute pinch! I am grateful to him for taking such good care of my pup while I was overseas. I'd book him again in a heartbeat!”

“Katerina took great care of my dog! Very easy to communicate with, always provided pictures and updates, and was extremely accommodating. It’s easy to tell my dog had a great time staying with her. Thank you!”

“Farrah had another fantastic stay at Ian and Clementina’s! They shared numerous updates, photos, and videos during her multi day stay at their apartment, and came back super happy!!”

“Gerard took great care of Olive, with plenty of walks and cuddles and adventures! Easy communication during drop off and pickup, returned her happy and with all her belongings organized. Thanks Gerard 💫”

“We just had our first booking with Diane, and she was wonderful! Our 11 year old dog is pretty neurotic and has major separation anxiety, but she was so patient and kind with him. She really took the time to get to know him and make him comfortable. She was also super communicative throughout the weekend, which gave us so much peace of mind. We'd absolutely love to book with her again!”

“Doris was awesome with accommodating a last-minute request to board Brownie due to an event. I was having at home. Drop off and pick up we’re extremely easy and she sent me photos of Brownie several times. Doris and her daughter were very gentle with her, and I would definitely recommend her services!”

“Elvira was amazing, flexible and very reassuring with caring for my older dog. I know he enjoyed his walks and companionship with her dog (who is the sweetest). Finding a sitter is stressful but finding someone as loving and caring for our babies is one less worry with Elvira. We will absolutely book again”

“I reached out to Elizabeth to inquire about dog boarding and she answered right away! Although she said she wouldn’t be home, she does work with her mom, and my dog, Thor, would be staying with her mom. Her mom kept us updated the whole time with pictures and videos, he looked really happy to be there! Would definitely book again with Elizabeth and/or her family.”

“Krystal took wonderful care of our dog, Joules, while we were away for two weeks. We were initially nervous about leaving our older dog for that long, but Krystal made the experience completely stress-free. She kept us updated regularly, gave Joules plenty of attention and long walks, and clearly cared about his well-being. We came home to a happy dog and couldn't be more pleased. We highly recommend Krystal!”

“We boarded our dog chuco with Meilin and couldn’t be happier with the experience! She was super communicative- sending us daily updates and pictures, which gave us peace of mind while we were abroad. Chuco absolutely LOVED her. He is a bit shy but he warmed up to her right away and was so happy and relaxed in every photo. She was also very sweet with him and clearly made him feel safe and loved. Highly recommend and we will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Gavriel was absolutely amazing with my dog, Blue! She accepted my last-minute booking without hesitation and was so accommodating when I needed to extend the stay due to an unexpected emergency. She kept me updated the entire time with messages and photos, which gave me real peace of mind. It’s clear she truly cares about the pets she watches. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter — highly recommend Gavriel to anyone looking for someone reliable and compassionate!”

Ashley cared for my service dog Ruby for nine days, and she truly went above and beyond. She kept me updated, checked in often, and made sure I felt at ease while Ruby was away from home. When Ruby had a day where she wasn’t her usual bubbly self, Ashley reached out right away. I appreciated her attentiveness and her instinct to make sure Ruby was okay. I let her know Ruby sometimes grazes her food and gets a little sluggish when she’s homesick or adjusting to a new space. I highly recommend Ashley. I’ll definitely be booking with her again.

Lena boarded and took care of my cat while I was away and I could tell he was taken care of with so much love! She sent daily photos and videos of him playing and cuddling, was super communicative the entire time and really gave him so much attention while I was away. You can definitely trust her to take good care of your animals! 💛

Adrienne was awesome! She made sure our dog Moku was comfortable with them and their dog Hugo. We had 2 meet and greets, one when we booked and another as the starting date was closer. We got sent photos twice a day with updates on how the day went. We could tell Moku was having fun. She also went out of her way to make frozen treats for the dogs and Moku received some as well. Overall, great experience and we didn’t feel we had anything to be worried about during our vacation. Will def book again! :) a+++++++++

Daniel is reliable, friendly, patient with our dog, and has helped us with last minute walks and boarding many times. Our dog is a rescue and is very anxious at baseline; he is very attentive to her mood and comfort level and we know she is safe on walks with Daniel. Highly recommend.

Maria "got" our two, very different, dogs immediately and gave them the appropriate care for the length of their stay with her. Medicine, food and treat particulars, and different kinds of walks all were administered as needed. And, bonus, Maria's updates can be hilarious.

Emerald and Minty took such good care of my little guy while i was out of town! She sent so many pictures and kept me updated about everything going on. My dog has his quirks and can be a bit anxious, but everything went smoothly and I felt so relaxed knowing he was being treated like a king! Could not recommend Emerald and Minty enough!!

Britt took great care of our senior little guy. She kept us regularly updated and sent lots of photos. Gus has special care needs given his age. We fully trusted Britt throughout the stay to keep him happy and healthy . Thrilled to have found a great sitter for Gus.

This was my first time boarding my new little wild child kitten! I had to go visit family & had to leave for about 2 weeks. I was a bit nervous, but Azure was so kind and sent me so many photos of my little Reuben being the feisty little guy he is! She took wonderful care of him and is the sweetest! Reuben and I are very thankful. Please hire her! Azure is wonderful :)

Genuinely the sweetest and kindest caregiver I have ever had. She was able to take my kitty last minute, and sent me updates. My kitty adored her and her partner, it was the cutest thing to see. She was so well taken care of and treated with such love! Such a wonderful human <3 Book with her!!

We had a great experience working with MJ! They offered to host a meet-and-greet prior to our trip, responded to messages within the Rover app almost instantly, and communicated frequently with us throughout our dog's stay...even sending a couple of videos! They have a wealth of knowledge and experience working with animals, were able to accommodate special needs (medication administration, an anxious pet, etc), and left us with a sense that our dog was in loving hands. Will definitely work with MJ again in the future!

Larissa is a fantastic sitter, *extremely* responsible and proactive! When my senior pup Ruby was showing symptoms of a serious medical condition (pre-existing, not due to Larissa’s care), she went above and beyond to bring her to the vet and coordinated with my mom who lives close by to make sure she was taken care of. Ruby ultimately had to have emergency surgery and is doing well, but if it weren’t for Larissa’s quick action, I don’t know what the outcome would be been. Thank you Larissa for your care, kindness and decisive action to make sure that Ruby was okay!

Salsabilla is very skilled dog sitter. My dog usually has separation anxiety the first few hours of being away from me. She was able to help her relax and settle. I am very, I mean VERY picky about who I leave my dog with. She’s got a genuine love for animals and that makes all the difference.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
