“Anton was very kind and accommodating of my anxious dog. It was the very first boarding experience for my dog, Reiki, and he was very nervous when we arrived at Anton's place. I was worried that he would stay restless, but I was totally wrong! Anton sent me photos and updates, which made me feel safe asking more of his service again. Reiki was able to calm down within hours under his care, and very much enjoyed spending time with him 😄.”

“First time boarding with Angela and I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my baby. She is incredibly sweet and it’s obvious she has a special love for animals. I won’t trust my dog with anyone else now, so grateful to find her through this app. Angela goes above and beyond in all ways to make your dogs’ stay as comfortable as possible and she’s super easy to coordinate with. I’ve already asked her to watch my baby when I go out of town next month… when you find the right sitter you know!!!”

“Stacey and Andrew took amazing care of our dog Benny! They were so communicative, accommodating, and flexible. We would definitely book with them again in a heartbeat.”

“Diana was very responsive and professional with my stay for my young high energy dog. She sent adorable pictures very often which made me happy while I was away. Her home is spacious and clean, and there's a backyard which was perfect for my dog to go potty in the snowy weather during my trip. Would definitely recommend and book again! Thank you Diana!!”

“We left our beloved, Essie, with Tamara, and she did an excellent job of caring for her. Tamara was curious, taking the time to know more about Essie's ways. She took for her fun walks, where Essie could roll in the grass and enjoy nature. She also provided her with her own dedicated space(s) in the apartment where she could feel at home and comfortable. Tamara was also communicative providing regular updates for us about Essie, for our own peace of mind. I highly recommend Tamara for anyone's dog care needs.”

“Melanie was excellent! Prompt responses, took great are of gio, regular communication and updates. He was a happy pup when I picked him up and would definitely have Gio stay with her again!”

“I have a high-energy rescue dog, so finding a sitter who can care for him can be challenging. MintZhet was super great for caring for Sanji. He sent daily messages and photos, and let us know if there were any changes to his routine, such as rainy days cutting his walks short, or changes in my dog's appetite, etc. Overall, great sitter and would definitely reach out again. Sanji had a great time.”

“Anthony and Sofiya were absolutely amazing with our dog, Brunson! We went away for the weekend and were a little nervous since he’s never stayed with anyone else before, especially as a puppy but they completely put us at ease. They sent us video updates the whole time, and it was so clear that Brunson was getting so much love, attention, and care. It meant everything to know he was in such good hands. Thank you so much, Sofiya and Anthony we’re so grateful!”

About: I grew up with both cats and dogs. I am currently a cat owner as well and understand the complex needs that come with pet ownership I currently work a remote 9-5 job and have pockets of free time throughout my day. Happy to drop in or visit your pet as needed! I do not like to participate in off leash activities (unless there is a fence) nor doggy play dates unless it’s a pre-established activity (the dogs have known each other for awhile and often interact!)
“The best cat sitter ! I travel very often for work and leaving Cloud with a trustworthy sitter is very important to me. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Long Island City
Caroline and Gabriel were absolutely wonderful! They watched Bento in their home for us the past two weekends, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care they gave him. They were fantastic communicators throughout his stays, sending us lots of pictures and regular updates about his walks and bathroom breaks, which gave us so much peace of mind. Most importantly, Bento seemed incredibly comfortable and happy with them. When we brought him back for the second weekend, he was genuinely excited to see them again, which says everything! It was clear that Caroline and Gabriel took such great care of him and made him feel right at home. We would absolutely trust them with Bento again and will definitely be reaching out for future stays. Highly recommend!

Great service from start to finish! Jimmy and Noah were friendly, professional, and helpful. I had a wonderful experience and truly appreciated the attention to detail and excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience with their pets. Definitely will be back to use their service.

Highly recommended! We left our dog with Donna for a week, and she did an excellent job caring for him. She was attentive to his specific needs, and gave him plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. Her communication was great, she sent pics and updates each day, and she was flexible with pick-up and drop-off hours. We won’t hesitate to reach out to her in the future :)

Zoe was amazing! She was great at communicating with us before, during, and after taking our booking. She gave us frequent updates on our dog and made sure we are able to provide her with all the info needed to make sure he feels relaxed and comfortable. Our dog can be very difficult and has a lot of peculiarities that need addressing. She was able to take care of him with no issues and make him feel at home, that is such a rare thing and I feel like my anxiety just dissipated. It's so difficult leaving your puppy with anyone, always worrying whether they're going to feel comfortable, loved, and cared for. I am so happy to say I will have no concerns booking Zoe again and I'll know I'm leaving our baby boy in the best hands. Thank you Zoe!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
