“John really cares about my dog Barney. When I leave Barney with him, I know he’s in great hands. I have left Barney with John twice now when going out of town for trips and it went great. I highly recommend him.”

“Lal was great! Very communicative and Joey had a great time w Hank and her cat. Sent lots of updates and made us feel very comfortable during Joey's stay.”

“Sarah gave Dante an outstanding stay caring for him while we were away visiting family do 3 days. She sent plenty of photos and kept us updated several times a day on how he was doing. She took Dante on 2-3 walks a day and gave him plenty of opportunities to make new furry friends at Central Park. Highly recommend Sarah and hope we can work together again!”

“Kat saved me a ton of stress when she agreed to watch my dog when a work trip came up at the last minute. She immediately responded to the request and was super responsive and communicative throughout the process, and she's conveniently located in a beautiful building very close to a park. Will definitely ask Kat to watch Sabrina again!”

“Fantastic! Angela went above and beyond and our little baby boy… he was very well taken care of! Will 10000% use her again. If you want someone who will go above and beyond for your fur baby, Angela is for sure the way to go. I’m in tech and a military veteran and have used different dog sitters in the past while moving around. Angela is beyond number 1. Thanks again Angela :)”

“Wes is just awesome. He took in my dog, Jack, for 2 weeks while I was abroad. Wes knew I was anxious and it was my first time leaving my baby for that length of time. He was super kind, responsive, and sent me tons of photos and videos. I felt so relieved knowing Jack was having the best time running around, and cuddling (his two favorite activities). Wes was even understanding when my flight was delayed because of the IT outage, and I had to pick up Jack late. Thank you so much! Highly recommend Wes!”

“Keri was amazing and sent me daily updates to let me know my Rocky was having fun. She really put mind at ease and l would definitely be a return client. So thankful for her taking such good care of our senior pup.”

“Stella went absolutely above and beyond taking care of Bao for a long weekend. This was our first time leaving Bao with a boarder since getting her and I can't imagine anyone providing better care than Stella. We're so spoiled now! Stella sent very frequent and detailed updates each day and took Bao and her dog, Koukla on countless adventures during her stay. Stella is mindful about the number of dogs she has in her care at one time so she can give her undivided attention to your pup during their stay. It really felt like Bao was an honorary member of her family and we can't wait to send Bao back for another stay 🥰”

“Nena took care of my nervous pup for a weekend while I was away, and from the moment I dropped her off, I felt confident she was in great hands. Nena kept me updated throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear when I picked my dog up that she had a great time and was well cared for. I’ll definitely be booking with Nena again for my upcoming summer travel and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter. 😊”

“Sabrina was amazing with magnolia! I’ve had unfavorable Rover experiences in the past so planned ahead and did a meet and greet. I could tell instantly how warm and genuine she is- she even read up on the notes before that meeting. I felt super comfortable heading into our weekend away. During the weekend she gave several updates and was generous with photos/ videos all descriptive of magnolias characteristics. I knew Magnolia loved her stay with Sabrina when I picked her up and she kept looking back for her to walk away with us! I will absolutely book with her again whenever she’s free!”

“We had never used Rover before and were nervous to leave our Yorkie Milo behind while on vacation. I’m SO glad we booked with Johann!!! He took amazing care of Milo while we were gone and kept us posted with updates and pictures which I loved receiving! Milo is already a senior dog with special needs (medication twice a day) so we were concerned on who to leave him with and Johann made it look so easy. We will definitely be booking with him next time we need a sitter for Milo!”
“I boarded my golden retriever with Iris for a week. She was a fantastic sitter - so reliable, communicates well, and is very attentive. She can handle anything! I also loved all the photos and videos she sent. Iris basically gave my dog her own photo shoot, all her photos were so beautiful! I would trust Iris to care for my pup again. It is very obvious that she loves taking care of dogs, and I can tell my dog had an amazing time with Iris. I highly recommend her!!”

“Adrienne is an incredible sitter! She sent photo and video updates every day and has a perfect disposition to make dogs feel comfortable. She even gave my dog a bath and brush out which was totally over the top! Highly recommend and would book again 10/10 😊”

“Yejin did an amazing job taking care of our pup Richard while we were out of town. She went above and beyond sending us consistent updates and taking him on long walks around the neighborhood. She also spoiled him by getting him some yummy treats! Richard seemed so happy and calm. We will definitely book her again next time we are in need of a sitter.”

“We are so grateful for Camila! She took such great care of Powder, kept us updated with pictures, and bonus that our dogs got along wonderfully. Powder was happy and well cared for, and it gave us so much peace of mind. We highly recommend her!”

“Robin was a fantastic sitter for Maggie! She was thoughtful, detailed-oriented, and communicative — Maggie enjoyed her stay and I was able to enjoy my holiday knowing she was in excellent hands. I would recommend Robin to anyone in search of an animal-loving, professIonal sitter.”

This is the second time we’ve left Linguini with Julia, and we couldn’t be happier! She is incredibly caring and always keeps us updated with photos, videos, and messages throughout his stay. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he’s in such loving hands. Linguini is always happy and well cared for. We highly recommend Julia and will definitely book with her again!

Sophie was the absolute best!!! She kept our sweet dog Cheddar for 3 days, and Sophie constantly went above and beyond in her communication, professionalism, and genuine love of animals. The maximum amount of stars I can give is 5, but I’d give her 100 stars if I could. I would book Sophie again in a heartbeat and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Micaela and Jesse are extremely trustworthy, diligent, and caring dog sitters. I am so grateful to have found them to care for my beloved dog, Mabel, when I am away! They are very experienced in caring for a range of dog needs and personalities, and they always provide plenty of pictures, videos, and thorough updates on Mabel’s well-being when she is staying with them. Mabel is always so excited when we drop her off for boarding, which is very surprising given her anxiety- this is a true testament to how well they treat the animals in their care. We would highly recommend Micaela and Jesse, and look forward to continue boarding with them. Thank you again, Micaela and Jesse!

Jennifer was wonderful with Oscar my 7lb Morkie! From our first meet-and-greet, she was kind, gentle, and immediately put me at ease. Oscar recently spent the day with her, and she took great care of him. He's still getting used to her home, but he's already becoming more comfortable. I'll definitely be booking with Jennifer again and know they'll continue to build a great bond.

Tim was a fantastic dog sitter. He was communicative throughout the stay, sent plenty of photos and updates, and made us feel confident that our dog was in great hands. Our dog really liked Tim and seemed happy and comfortable. I would definitely recommend Tim to anyone looking for a reliable dog sitter.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
