“Pooja cared for Annabel for 3 days and 2 nights while I was out of town. She was beyond wonderful and Annabel adores her. Pooja went out of her way to learn everything she could about Annabel so she could ensure Annabel would be comfortable and even came to meet us beforehand. She is affectionate and so considerate toward Annabel, asking me good questions while I was away to ensure her health and comfort. She let Annabel sleep with her and moved her set up around so that Annabel, who has arthritis, wouldn’t have to jump up and down. I was super pleased with her photos checkins and updates. We both adore Pooja and will 💯 be booking her again. Thank you, Pooja! ❤️ 🐾”
“This was Roo's third time with Chi, and his longest at 13 days. Chi sends lots of photos everyday and is super responsive. Roo loves it there and we will definitely book again in the future.”

“Kecia was great and kept us informed about Coco via photos. We picked up our dog and she was happy and as jubilant as ever. We'll definitely be rebooking here!”

“Ethel took care of our cavapoo, Max, for 10 days, and we are so thankful he was in such great hands! She updated us constantly on how he was doing, kept him safe and happy, and sent us so many pictures of him enjoying his walks and play time under her care. She was timely, thorough, and we would 100% trust Ethel next time to watch our dog in the future. Thank you again, Ethel!!”

“Peih is a total pro. I’m always a bit nervous leaving my dog with someone new, but the constant stream of photos really kept me at ease. It was clear from the updates that my pup was getting some serious mileage on those long walks. Most importantly, Peih actually listened to the diet restrictions. Reliable, active, and highly recommended”

“Sarah gave Dante an outstanding stay caring for him while we were away visiting family do 3 days. She sent plenty of photos and kept us updated several times a day on how he was doing. She took Dante on 2-3 walks a day and gave him plenty of opportunities to make new furry friends at Central Park. Highly recommend Sarah and hope we can work together again!”

“Euitae was the best dog sitter I’ve ever had. Euitae was responsive and so so attentive and caring for my senior guy, Jack, taking Jack for lots of walks and adventures in the park, and even a dog café where Jack got to make new friends. Philip was absolutely wonderful with our dog Hades! Hades has anxiety and needs a little extra patience and care, and Philip went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and at home. It was clear from the start that he genuinely cares about the dogs he watches. His sweet pup, Nana Bu, was also incredibly welcoming and helped Hades settle in, which made such a difference. We could tell Hades was in great hands, and it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We couldn't be happier with the care Hades received and would absolutely book with Philip again. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a kind, attentive, and trustworthy sitter!

Heather and Ronald took such amazing care of Tilly for the weekend! I was nervous leaving her as she is a young puppy but Heather kept me so updated with pics of her! She looked like she had an absolute blast with other dogs and their outdoor space as she is still a little too young to go on walks. So responsive, accommodating, and trustworthy. So great if your leaving your young puppy for the first time!

Alexis was amazing with our rescue dog Brutus! Brutus can be scared with new people, but Alexis took the time to really understand his needs and make sure everyone was comfortable. With an anxious rescue it is always nerve-wracking to travel and leave, but Alexis made the experience so much easier! She sent us regular updates and photos and we felt very confident that Brutus was in good hands while we were away. We would love to work with Alexis again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter!

We reached out to Barry and Lei after a last-minute cancellation, and we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. They were super responsive and easygoing, with flexible drop-off and pick-up times, and they sent us picture updates constantly. Frida was spoiled with lovely walks and lots of attention the whole time. Thank you Barry and Lei, we’ll definitely be back!

They are very professional, experienced, and thoughtful. They took the time to understand Kuma’s personality and needs, and sent me daily photo updates. Kuma had so much fun with them and got along great with their dog, Nala. When I picked up Kuma, she didn’t even want to leave! I’m so grateful for their thoughtful care and would highly recommend them.

We have left our dog Moni with Pratik and his wife on multiple occasions and they are just the best!! Our dog loves going there, they constantly provide updates so we know how things are going, and they are just overall wonderful to work with. I highly recommend and trust any pup in their care. A++

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
