“100% will book their services again. Milo was taken care of like if he was their own. Thank you so much again for babying him and giving him all the cuddles!”

“Took wonderful care of our little Penny. She came back happy and well cared for, and John was perfectly communicative before and during her stay. Would highly recommend trusting John with your fur baby.”

“Jarianna was an incredibly sweet sitter to my dog! Super responsive and shared many photo updates throughout my dog’s stay. She was also flexible with pick up and drop off times which I truly appreciated since I had some travel delays. My dog seemed super happy and energetic when I picked her up. I would absolutely use her services again and recommend her to all my friends. Thank you so much!!”

“Monique is amazing! I needed a last min sitter for a weekend trip. I reached about two days in advance to Monique and she answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease with leaving my pup with her. She provided many updates with videos and photos throughout the weekend of the great time they had together. I would definitely trust Monique with caring for Kira again in the future. She was flexible with pickup and drop off and provided great care. I’m thrilled to have found a dog sitter like Monique.”

“Kecia was great for watching my dog for 1 night! I had to book her last minute and she was really responsive and fast to my request. My dog Riley had a great time staying at her place with other dog companions. Would definitely use her again!”

“If “amazing dog sitter” could have an image for a definition it would be Maisha! I’ve left my baby with her many times now and I trust her very much with my fur baby. If you’re looking for someone or trying to switch to a new sitter, Maisha is your girl 🤍”

“Adam was great. I used him a few times while in New York on holidays. He is flexible, friendly and great with dogs. I will use him again next time I’m back :-)”

“Sashina was a life saver for me! When my Rover reservation canceled 2 days prior to my leaving on a 9 day vacation, I was stuck looking for a last minute replacement and Sashina came through for me! She was quick to respond and was very accommodating. We texted prior to meeting and I was very confident my expectations would be met. She did a great job! She provided me with daily updates and pictures. I felt like she treated my dog as a member of her family. I would use her again and highly recommend her!”

“Matheus was amazing at watching our two dogs. He was constantly sending updates and photos, knew what they needed, and gave them their own little vacation! I am already planning on booking with him again and would trust him with my dogs anytime.”

“Bridget took great care of my Shih Tzu Oliver. Drop off/pick up were seamless and she’s always quick to respond with an update and picture whenever I check in.”

“Peih is a total pro. I’m always a bit nervous leaving my dog with someone new, but the constant stream of photos really kept me at ease. It was clear from the updates that my pup was getting some serious mileage on those long walks. Most importantly, Peih actually listened to the diet restrictions. Reliable, active, and highly recommended”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hoboken
Deep and Imogen took great care of our senior Beagle mix, Saarinen. They sent a lot of photos and even helped him celebrate his 13th birthday! Their dog Leo is very sweet, and all three of them welcomed Saar into their home. Saar had a great time, and we would love to have him stay with them again.

I had such a great experience! She sent me lots of photos and updates throughout my dog’s stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. My pup always looked so happy and well cared for. I also needed to drop him off earlier than I anticipated and she updated the booking within minutes of me asking and was extremely accommodating! I would definitely book with her again, 10/10 experience

Angie is amazing! We feel very lucky to have found Angie to take care of Mumford while we are away or drop in and take him for a walk and give him his meds when we’re out. She provides great updates and lots of pictures which we really appreciate. We can’t recommend her enough!

I cannot recommend Gabriela enough for both evening and overnight stays! She provides a safe and super loving home for Teddy when we’re busy, handles all her little idiosyncrasies with grace and is super responsive & flexible. Honestly a dream, no notes. Teddy didn’t want to leave her home after a 5 day trip! I think it’s safe to say we’re going to be lifers with her..!

Amanda was AMAZING! We left Poppy with her for two weeks and are so glad we trusted Amanda with her care. She was SO well taken care of, clearly had fun, and came back to us in perfect shape! Poppy has allergies and had no flare-ups or anything while we were gone, which was amazing and means Amanda followed all of the unique care instructions given to a T. Poppy went on plenty of walks and got some great exercise and social time. Amanda also sent us some wonderful photos throughout our trip, and was super responsive and reassuring whenever we were missing her. I would absolutely recommend Amanda to watch your pup!!!

Eric and Xintong are great! They confidently took on the commitment to board our dog for a full month while we were out of the country and took excellent care of her. For example, our pup is not big on having her teeth brushed, but they managed to do it and even recommended a better brush to us. Also, they sent regular updates with photos that were very reassuring. When we picked our dog up, we could tell she had been very happy. We highly recommend Eric and Xintong and will gladly leave our dog with them again.

Jessica and her boyfriend were so friendly and very responsive throughout the whole boarding for my dog and my brother's dog. She sent daily photos and thoughtful updates, which was much appreciated. Communicating with them was such a breeze and I'm thankful they were both flexible and accommodating when I had a delay on my flight back home!

We can’t thank Chi-Wing enough for how wonderful he has been to our family. When our late flight home got canceled, he was so accommodating and was willing to care for our dog Hudson until we could get a flight home the next day. Hudson always has the BEST time staying there and we know she always feels right at home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
