“Roxandra cared for my two cats and was lovely!! She fed them, gave them tons of attention, which they appreciated!! We felt at peace knowing she was there with them :)”

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs but with my career I never adopted one of my own! Getting to care for other's pups is so a great honor and joy. I have watched over a 100 pound golden retriever to a 6 pound chihuahua! I truly love dogs and would love to meet yours! I typically work 2-3 days a week so I have a lot of free time that I'd love to use to meet and love on your pup! I have the world's friendliest cat living at my home if your pup spends the night with me and get at least 15,000 steps every day so would love to take your baby for a walk! I have experience with most different leash types but am a quick learner if you need something I haven't seen before.

“Megan is the best. She is a great communicator giving me the full scope of both how Sensi's overall vibe and wellbeing is with me being gone (she was a happy girl because she LOVES Megan). Sensi is 12 years old and anything can change and I know Megan has the instincts to tell me when something might seem off (Sensi didnt uae the litterbox between visits and Megan tracked that which was greatly appreciated).”

“Kristen was extremely communicative and flexible, especially when we needed to rebook our trip last minute. She took wonderful care of our cat with care and attention to detail, making sure he got the play time and affection he needed. Would highly recommend to any anxious cat parent!”

“Katherine was amazing! Our pre-visit video chat allowed me to feel comfortable with the process. She was able to build trust with my kitty in such a short time, and provided detailed updates. Would definitely book with her again and recommend to others!”

“We can’t say enough great things about Federica! She has been absolutely incredible with our dog and has given us so much peace of mind. She is extremely attentive, communicative, and clearly cares so much about the pets she watches. We always feel like our dog is in the best hands with her. She goes above and beyond, keeps us updated, and treats our dog with so much love and care. We’re so grateful to have found her and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely amazing with animals!”

“This was Delaney’s second time watching our cat and she did just as amazing of a job as the first time around. Our cat loves her and we’re comfortable knowing Delaney has cats herself. Highly recommend!”

“Catherine was a great sitter for our cat. She was so helpful, understanding, and communicative. We really appreciated her help, and we look forward to working with her again!”

“Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of our fur babies! Knowing they were safe and happy gave us complete peace of mind. You are incredibly professional and did a wonderful job. We truly appreciate you!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats since I was 7. I’ve grown up around lots of pets, and taking care of them is my hobby! I’m the kind of person that would rather stay in with my dog and cat over going out. :) I’ve dealt with all types of animals, from sweet angels to misunderstood ones with different behavioral needs. Whatever your pet needs, I’m able to accommodate it. I work part time and am home most of the day! I’m very available as my work schedule is flexible; I mostly do online work and spend time with my dog and cat! I have an unfenced yard and live very close to a park. I also have a very friendly dog named Piper. She comes on walks but also doesn’t need to. She isn’t interested in other dogs and is submissive.
“Melissa was so great with my two cats! One of my cats is super shy so Melissa made sure to note when she would come out or not. So it was really reassuring seeing her updates and pictures of them while I was gone :) And my cats were happy to have her around too!!”

“Ramona went above and beyond to take care of our cat while our family was away on vacation - asking questions to ensure everything was covered and sharing regular updates. We would absolutely request her again!”

About: Hi, I’m Rita — a lifelong animal lover with a heart for pups and a head for details. I treat every dog like family, blending genuine affection with a calm, reliable presence that pets (and their humans!) can count on. Whether it’s belly rubs, long walks, or sticking to a strict medication schedule, I bring both warmth and responsibility to every visit. One of my proudest experiences was fostering Leland, a sweet pittie love bug, for nearly a year. Helping him grow in confidence and eventually find his forever home was a beautiful reminder of how much love and trust dogs give when they feel safe and cared for. That’s the kind of connection I strive to build with every pup I meet. With me, your dog gets more than a sitter — they get a new best friend. Pet care is my passion and priority—I'm available for evening walks all week, plus overnight stays and weekend boarding to keep tails wagging and hearts happy. I offer a cozy, yard-free home with indoor play, enrichment, and leashed walks. I am able to host one dog under 80lbs and two dogs under 30lbs.
“Allie was amazing! She took GREAT care of our kitten, who fell in love with Allie. She was a great communicator and sent tons of pictures. I loved her daily messages about how our kitten was doing, what he played with, whether he was up for cuddles, etc. It was so comforting - would definitely rebook Allie and highly recommend!”

About: I've been taking care of pets since the time I could walk. My own dogs are two small white ones (4 and 6), but I have extensive experience with pets of all sizes and ages. Neighbors and colleagues have trusted me with their daschunds, terriers, pitbulls, malteses, bichons, dalmations, basset hounds, and spaniels too. I raised two litters of puppies to adoption and saw a very old dog through her roughest days. I can care for other animals too. I kept a veritable menagerie – two cockatiels, two rabbits, a guinea pig, and a bichon – happy and healthy for a full two months while the family was traveling. I work remotely and I live right on the end of the path train line which means I can get anywhere in the city on a moment’s notice. Thus, I have the time and ability to give your fur-babies with the consistency and love that they deserve. At this time, I can’t bring more animals into my apartment but I can walk, feed, snuggle, play with and entertain your pets from the comfort of their own home.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hoboken
We decided to book Lucy when we had to leave town suddenly before we were able to meet or introduce her to our kitty. She did such an amazing job at making us feel comfortable as well as our kitty while we were away. We could not recommend her enough and would absolutely rebook her!

Catherine was great with our 3 cats. 3 is definitely a handful, and Catherine was very patient and responsive to our neurotic concerns over one of our girls who is very shy and sensitive. Shy girl came around and all 3 had a great time. Catherine made sure they had playtime and petting. Thanks so much for taking care of our kitties.

Diane was great and took such wonderful care of Fiona while I was away! She was always prompt and went above and beyond just feeding her and taking care of the basics. She spent quality time playing and interacting with Fiona, and I even came home to discover a new toy she loves! Diane was also very communicative and provided great updates throughout my trip. I felt completely at ease knowing Fiona was in such good hands. Thank you, Diane!

This was our second time asking Joyce to take care of our two cats while we were away for a week, and once again, everything went perfectly and smoothly! Joyce is very responsible, attentive, and caring. Our older cat is very shy and rarely comes out when someone she doesn’t know is in the apartment. We really appreciated how attentive Joyce was and how genuinely concerned she was about her well-being. Our cat was completely fine - she was just hiding - but it really says a lot about Joyce that she noticed and made sure everything was okay. She also played with our younger cat every time she visited and always sent us updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. Thank you so much again, Joyce! We truly appreciate your care and attention and would absolutely recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

We were completely blown away by Jessica’s professionalism and passion for what she does. My partner worked for a professional pet sitting company for 10 years and was beyond impressed by the service and care Jessica provided. We were able to completely relax on our vacation and know that our baby was not only cared for but spoiled! We received up to 50 (!!) photos a day (and we looked through every single one) accompanied by a lengthy paragraph about all the happenings of the visit. Jessica was incredibly communicative the entire time! We could tell that our kitty Mimi loved Jessica so much (we might even need to step up our game when we get home)! She even took out the trash on her last visit, which we were so grateful for. We will not hesitate to book with Jessica again whenever we leave the city 🥹

Nataliia is an amazing communicator and super responsive. She is very thorough and great with the instructions I left for my cat. She went above and beyond with brushing and helping remove some painful mats my poor cat had. Would 100% recommend for taking amazing care of your cats!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hoboken. On Rover:

- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
