“Roxandra cared for my two cats and was lovely!! She fed them, gave them tons of attention, which they appreciated!! We felt at peace knowing she was there with them :)”

“Rebecca was wonderful watching my two cats while I was away. They both can be on the shy side and Mia instantly was licking and looking for pets while Maya watched from a distance and enjoyed the company. She took care of all the necessities and took time to play with them and send updates and pictures. Will be using her again!”

“Katie is the most communicative sitter we’ve ever had. I couldn’t recommend her more! Katie was so kind and caring towards our 2 cats, we received so many pictures and detailed recaps. Our cats adjusted to Katie si quickly, and we felt super at ease while we were away. Thank you Katie for everything!”

“John was absolutely amazing with our pup Dakota! He took her on a great walk, made sure she got her dinner, and treated her with so much care and attention. It’s clear he really loves animals and goes the extra mile—Dakota was happy and relaxed when we got home. We’re so grateful for his help and would definitely trust him again. Highly recommend!”

“This was Delaney’s second time watching our cat and she did just as amazing of a job as the first time around. Our cat loves her and we’re comfortable knowing Delaney has cats herself. Highly recommend!”

About: I've been taking care of pets since the time I could walk. My own dogs are two small white ones (4 and 6), but I have extensive experience with pets of all sizes and ages. Neighbors and colleagues have trusted me with their daschunds, terriers, pitbulls, malteses, bichons, dalmations, basset hounds, and spaniels too. I raised two litters of puppies to adoption and saw a very old dog through her roughest days. I can care for other animals too. I kept a veritable menagerie – two cockatiels, two rabbits, a guinea pig, and a bichon – happy and healthy for a full two months while the family was traveling. I work remotely and I live right on the end of the path train line which means I can get anywhere in the city on a moment’s notice. Thus, I have the time and ability to give your fur-babies with the consistency and love that they deserve. At this time, I can’t bring more animals into my apartment but I can walk, feed, snuggle, play with and entertain your pets from the comfort of their own home.
“Catherine took great care of our dog Christopher. She was very communicative, sending lots of pictures and updates and he loved having her around. I would definitely recommend Catherine and will be using her again.”

About: Hi, my name is Jess and I live in Hoboken. I’ve watched dogs and cats for friends many times over the years, and have great clients on Rover. I work from home so I am flexible to your needs. I love cats and dogs, especially since I work from home we can both keep each other company. I have experience administering oral medicine, watching elderly cats, and pets with quirky schedules/habits. I work from home full time so can be available any day pretty much any time depending on my meeting schedule. I can drop in any time or stay over since my schedule is flexible, whatever you need. I let cats and dogs come to me and sniff me out before petting and do not pick up any animals unless the owner confirms they are friendly and enjoy that.
“My cat was super happy & well behaved with Olivia as her sitter, the photos were also super cute & funny. She is super sweet and took care of my cat perfectly, would definitely recommend!”

About: I grew up with dogs my whole life! I have experience with all ages and sizes, and cannot wait to meet and have fun with your furry babies. I work full-time, so am mostly available early mornings, evenings, or weekends. I do work remotely though, so I am happy to do work at your home for sitting, if you are comfortable! I do not offer boarding, as I have my own pet that does not get along with dogs. But, when sitting, I am happy to play with, snuggle with, and do any other care for your pup!
“Anikó is so professional and a pleasure to work with. My 3 year old Samoyed took to her right away and felt at ease with her care. She is very attentive to details, clarifies all instructions, and asks great questions - she was also very patient when we had an issue with our lockbox. She stayed past her shift to make sure the lock box was secure. She is wonderful with our dog and gives her plenty of attention and care. I will definitely book her again and highly recommend her!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hoboken
I had a great experience with Jessica. I was nervous because it was my first time leaving my cat alone, but Jessica was very trustworthy and punctual. She was attentive to my cat’s needs, sent regular updates, and gave me real peace of mind during my trip. She took excellent care of both my cat and my apartment. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.
Katherine is an absolute star and your animals will not only be in good hands with her — they will have a GREAT time while you’re away. My cats had a field day with their new friend while we were gone :) My husband and I were very nervous to leave our two kitten brothers alone for the first time — we scheduled an additional visit before we left so Katherine could come over to meet the kitties and walk through everything. Our cats absolutely fell in love with her! She is very prompt and communicative, and she takes pictures that are so good (truly — some framers here) you’ll feel completely at ease that your pets are in the best hands. We watched our cats relax and let loose in real time. She also has two cats of her own and you can tell how much she absolutely loves animals. Give your pets a real vacation while you’re away - book with Katherine!

Nathan did an amazing job taking care of my cat, Birdie, for a week! He was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout, and sent so many photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear Birdie was in great hands! Would absolutely book with him again & highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter!

Jenna is the best! Shes taken care of our 2 cats a bunch of times now and each time has always gone above and beyond for us and them! Recently our cat got sick and needed some special care/attention, and she did everything he needed and more and was very flexible with her time. We appreciate you so much Jenna!!!

Kate and Alex took amazing care of my babies (2 kitties) while I was out for a long trip. They are trustworthy, great communicators, caring and loving with both cats, and my shy cat loves them!!! This is my second time leaving my babies in their care and they are wonderful. Couldn't recommend more.

When there was a building emergency while we were out of town, Hannah rushed over to check in on our pet and make sure she was safe and offered to bring her back to her home if the emergency worsen. Hannah provided updates to us throughout the situation. I can not thank her enough for the care she provided and trust I have in her for watching my pet.

I love her detailed messages, video, and pictures. My cat truly loves her and will miss her. For a week, she really took care of my cat, everything- food, litter box, treats, - and spent a wonderful time with her. I really appreciate her and definitely will rebook with her! Thank you!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
