Services
Kayla can care for
Availability
I offer array of services. I currently offer regular weekly, occasional dogwalking and/or housesitting services for clients. Drop-in services are generally used for vacationing clients. There are four (4) time windows that I offer. The hours are from 8am-12pm, 10am-2pm, 12pm-4pm and/or 4pm-8pm. My rate for housesitting is for overnights, which includes evening and morning. If any additional visits are needed, they are available at a discounted rate. On the last day, if you are not returning until later (after 8am) and need of an additional time, the extended care feature will be applied for the remainder of the day (to cover up until 8pm). In order for me to continue to offer equal, proper and quality care to any and all pets in my care. I must have the ability to step out of your home for approximately 4 hours at a time during the day. Thank you. **I can not offer exact times due to any delays that may arise from (including but not limited to) a simple cleanup of a pet's mess to a medical emergency which requires immediate attention with a medical professional. I can accommodate a smaller window for young puppies learning to be potty trained, seniors with incontinence and special needs (time sensitive medication, like insulin and/or bladder expression).** **All hosting, housesitting, walks and/or drop-in services that fall within a holiday week and/or weekend are subject to a holiday fee(s).**

Information Kayla T. would like to know about your pet
I require a meet & greet with all new clients and pets. When I meet a new client and their dog, there are some questions I like to ask before the stay. I believe that having a thorough conversation about your pet's history, behavior, temperament, level of socialization, and individual quirks, will ensure that I am a great match for you and your dog. All of the questions I ask at a meet-and-greet are aimed at giving me the best, overall picture of your pet's personality, and will provide me with the information I need to provide the best care and a worry-free visit. All breeds are welcomed. Whether you have a teacup Yorkie, or an over-sized Great Dane that thinks they are a lap dog, all doggie visitors will feel at home! Some typical questions I will ask at a meet-and-greet are: -How long have you had your pet(s)? Please give me a brief history of your relationship together. -Does your pet(s) have any medical issues or special care instructions? -What is your pet(s) typical daily routine? -How often does your pet interact with other dogs? Please describe those interactions. -Does your pet pull on the leash? Do they lunge at other pedestrians during walks, or try to chase after cats, cars, squirrels, etc.? -What are your pet's favorite games to play/treats to eat? -Are they up to date on their required vaccinations? (I will need to see proof before arrival, if booked) -How many times a day are they fed & how much for each meal? -Does your pet get along with children? I do not have any children, but kids love to play with animals and I wouldn't want any mishaps on my walks with your dog. -Is your pet housebroken? The meet-and-greet is a great time to discuss your dog's care and address any of your concerns, so please come prepared with any questions you might have for me! Please share anything else you find valuable and important.
A typical day
My housesitting adult dogs are generally taken out the morning and evening walks. There will be times I do tend to be in and out of the home. So to avoid any extended time without me there, there will be opportunities for your dog(s) to come out with me on a day adventure. -Since puppies generally require more attention and potty breaks to keep up with their potty training lessons. They are offered more opportunities to go potty than adults. The frequency will be discussed prior to officially booking (generally during a meet & greet), since puppies are not a one fit all type of scenario.

Fully Insured Responsible Pet Lover
Pet care experience
Hi my name is Kayla and I am avid animal lover and had pets for majority of my life. I am fully insured through Pet Sitters Associates, outside of Rover. I am an experienced petcare provider with 20+ years experience including rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs. I am reliable, trustworthy and energized sitter, who wants to do nothing short of making your pet feel as comfortable as possible while you are away. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is for your dog to feel safe and secure in their environment. I can assure you that this will be the case during their stay with me. I make sure to provide plenty of love and affection, and treat all animals the same way I would want my own to be treated. You can rest easy knowing that your dog is having a safe and happy stay :). I am both equipped to handle last minute and/or emergency situations (meet & greets are still required). If your pet is on medication, I can administer them. I am comfortable administering medication (pill, liquid, eye drops or topical) to your pet, as long as the pet will allow me to do it safely. Any injectable medication method you use must be shown to me in person, to avoid stressing your pet(s) out. If you have any pointers to what method (other than injectable) you found was easier, I am open to your suggestions. I am obligated to not only keeping your pet's mind at ease, but yours as well. I will send a daily update on how your pet is doing and including pictures because I love taking a good old snapshot! If you are in need of a sitter who is going to give your pet the attention it needs.

Reviews

Relatively smooth pet sitting with Kayla. Very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Kayla watched my cat for 3 days while I was away, dropping in once a day to my apartment. He seemed happy and healthy when I returned. However, I was surprised to see the litter box was not cleaned at all. It looked like she may have scooped it once or twice, but she kept the bag of poop and pee in my room instead of throwing it away. I arrived back in the morning, only about 12 hours after her last visit with him, and it appeared the litter box hadn’t really been cleaned all weekend, as there was enough poop and pee to have lasted a normal 3 days without cleaning. I just wanted to let her know that was a surprise for me, but I did not hear back from her after I messaged her about this issue. I am grateful she checked in on him and gave him love, but was very surprised to find such a mess on my return, especially after walking her through the litter box cleaning process (where the trash was, where the extra bags were, etc).

Kaylah was great!! Made extra efforts to understand my, and my two cats needs. I highly recommend her!

Kayla is amazing! She has watched our two cats several times and she always spends a lot of quality time with them and takes great photos. We feel a lot better leaving them since we know they love Kayla so much. She always checks their water/food/litter and is extremely responsive and communicative.
