“Avary is absolutely amazing! Such a sweet person that loves animals and with patience and a few Churus was able to win my cat Hanna over! Avary sent us multiple pictures and checked every detail with us to make sure we knew our kitty was taken care of. Thank you Avary! 100% would recommend 🥰🫶🏼”

“I’ve had Tora come twice to take care of my two cats. She went above and beyond, and even did a meet and greet before the first visit. She took detailed notes on the steps of care. I recommend Tora to anyone!”

“Vivian was so attentive to my cat and very communicative. I love the pictures she sent of my cat while I was away. Would definitely recommend Vivian to anyone in need of a pet sitter!”

“Hannah did an amazing job taking care of my cat, Winston, while I was away for a long weekend. Winston requires medication, a special diet, and a very clean litter box and Hannah handled all of that excellently. She also sent lots of cute photos and detailed updates from her visits. When I arrived home from my trip, Winston seemed calm and content, which isn’t always the case after I’ve been away. I’ll definitely be using Hannah’s pet-sitting services again.”

“Harriet was amazing! She was communicative, responsive, and alleviated all my concerns at leaving my skittish kitty for the first time. Highly recommend and I won’t hesitate to use her again in the future.”

“Liudmyla took excellent care of our two cats. They are slow to warm up to people, but she was able to befriend them and earn their trust right away. She was very reliable and we can't wait to book her again the next time we leave town.”

“Laura was a pleasure to work with! She did a thorough job with cat check-ins while I was away on a weeklong trip including providing detailed descriptions of her visits and photos. Would definitely trust her with my fur baby again!”

“She did so great taking care of my three cats and keeping me updated. She was even able to give my very shy cat his inhaler after a couple of days which we thought was going to be impossible! Will definitely use her again :)”

“Molly was a great sitter!! My cat is super shy, but Molly was very persistent and patient with him. This proved incredibly important when I got home, because my cat doesn’t like it when I’m away for more than a day, and he’s prone to hiding for a few hours when I return. But since Molly was so good and attentive with him, he was so so quick to bounce back and be back to his regular self :) I’d highly recommend Molly!!”

“Stefanie took such wonderful care of our two cats! We really appreciated her communication and the visit cards she provided. Our boys were in great hands in our absence—we can’t recommend her enough!”

“Just days after moving into a new home I had to travel for several days to attend a funeral. While I was away Alexandra dropped in twice a day to take care of my two disoriented and stressed cats. They both warmed to her very quickly - including my male cat who is stranger shy in the best of situations. Alexandra’s presence, and my cats’ quick acceptance of her, gave me the freedom to not worry about them during what was already a very stressful time for all of us. I would highly recommend Alexandra for your pet care needs.”

“James was very communicative and did an excellent job taking care of my two very shy cats while I was away for Christmas. I appreciated the daily updates and that he stopped by to get the tour of my apartment beforehand!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life — growing up with them at home gave me a deep understanding of their needs and personalities. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, from small breeds to large dogs, for friends and family through walks, drop-ins, and home stays. As a remote-working attorney, I bring the same reliability and attention to detail to pet care that I do to my professional life. Your pup will always be in trustworthy, attentive hands. I work fully remote, which means I’m home all day and able to give dogs consistent attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I’m available for boarding, walks, drop-ins, and daycare — my flexible schedule makes it easy to accommodate your routine. I live in a spacious Brooklyn townhome with plenty of room for dogs to move around comfortably. We’re just a 5-minute walk to Prospect Park, so boarded or daycare dogs get real outdoor time with open grass and space to run. I’m experienced with both small and large breeds and know how to create a calm, safe environment for dogs whether I’m hosting at my place or visiting yours.
About: I began my dog sitting adventure 6 years ago while in graduate school in London where I provided dog boarding, doggy daycare, and house sitting. In addition to dog sitting, I run a retreat and events business from my home. I love having a companion and taking walks during my workday. I find peace and pleasure outside, especially by water. I am available for house sitting, boarding, and doggy day care. I can care for dogs that enjoy a love walk as well as the elderly who mostly want to cuddle and rest. Extremely high energy dogs that need to play most of the day are a bit outside my scope but I have a special touch with dogs who experience anxiety. Below are some non-negotiables for working with me: 1. House trained pups only please! 2. For new clients, I require an in-person meet & greet. I’m unable to accept bookings without them! 3. As a means of maintaining the energy in my home, no pet parents may come inside. Meet & greets happen on my porch or in my fenced in backyard and drop offs happen on my porch only. 4. All communication happens in the Rover app. I’m happy to touch base and send a few photos here but I don’t give out my personal phone number. If these details feel aligned with you, please include this emoji: 🐾 in your message so I know you agree to the above! I work full-time from home. I'm able to accommodate a dog from my home or go to a doggie's clean home as long as there is reliable and efficient wifi. Walking during the day is great for me too! I also have experience with dogs who would rather stick close to home. I have a fenced-in yard for doggies to play. I'm comfortable with dogs sleeping in my bed, as well. In my home, I require a house-trained dog that I can take outside for potty breaks but can accommodate a dog who uses pee pee pads or otherwise inside their home.
“Dale was a fantastic sitter for our kitty! He was super resourceful when there was an issue with our door on the first day. Dale is a great communicator and often shared notes and pictures that made me smile and laugh. I had no doubt Lucy was well taken care of and entertained! We plan to use him again in the future when we need a sitter.”

“Ashanti is a true gem. She’s charming, communicates clearly, and genuinely loves and cares for the pets she watches. My pets adore her. She went above and beyond in every way, and I truly feel at ease knowing they’re in such loving hands. I’ve already booked her for long-term and frequent visits. Highly recommended!”

“Onyekachi is amazing! She took the time to really get to know my dog and communicates frequently, which gives me so much peace of mind. My dog is a senior and will be staying alone for the first time ever, so I was naturally nervous. Thanks to Onyekachi’s thoughtful drop-in visits and attentive care, I feel confident that my dog will be safe, comfortable, and very well cared for.”

Jennifer is wonderful! I rarely need a sitter for my little son, but I’m so glad I found her on short notice! She’s extremely communicative and really loves animals. She was on time, thorough, and made sure my cat was taken care of during the heatwave. I highly recommend Jennifer!

Madeleine took great care of our cats while we were away! Lots of playtime and brushing. She was especially good with our very shy Poppy girl (former feral) who usually takes some time to warm up but was running around and playing in no time! Madeleine even ran our robo vacuum before leaving each day which helps so much keeping things tidy for the girls and for us when we get back! Great communication and she sent lots of photos. Clearly someone who felt very safe for the girls to be running around and playing as much as they were! So appreciate knowing they were in great hands 💕

- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
