About: I keep a good balance between walk time and sniff time, I always make sure they at least go pee before we finish our walk! I’m currently overnight sitting a cat but I am around between 9am and 5pm! I can also do before 8:30am or after 5:30pm if needed I make sure to assess the personality of the friend I am meeting, and do whatever is needed to make sure they’re good for the day
“Mariele truly went above and beyond in every way!! She kept us updated throughout the day with the sweetest, funniest, and most detailed notes and photos. Our kitties were clearly well taken care of, played with, and given so much love while we were away. So much so that we think they missed Mariele for a while after our return, haha! We are so thankful to have found her, and look forward to the next booking. She is wonderful!!”

“Kristina was amazing! Was always on time and provided the most adorable photos each visit of our kitten. She even noticed one of the wet food cans looked a little off and left us a note to throw out. We will definitely be booking again soon. Thank you Kristina! ☺️”
“Hannah was fantastic. Very communicative and sent lots of photos. My cat seemed to warm up to here quickly which isn’t always the case! Will definitely use Hannah again.”

“Sophia was great! She called before accepting to check all the requirements for the week looking after my cat Teacup. She was super professional, very responsive and I would 100% book her again!”

“Thank you so much for taking such great care of my cat. Lauren is always a pleasure to work with. My cat usually doesn’t like people, but she really enjoys her company.”

About: I’m a dog-obsessed girl who truly loves every pup like they’re my own. Whether it’s a playful puppy or a senior snuggler, your dog will be cared for with the same love, attention, and joy I give my own dog. I’m passionate about dog rescue and have a huge soft spot for all breeds and personalities. Honestly, I see dogs before I see people on the street — they just light up my world! I believe dogs make life better, and it’s an honor to spend time with them. When your pup is with me, they’ll get more than just a walk — they’ll get companionship, tail wags, and the kind of love only a true dog person can give. I'm a fully remote worker and would love to take care of your pet! I have the flexibility to take your dog for a walk around the neighborhood and spend time with them while you're away from home. My dog is my world, and her happiness and comfort always come first — no exceptions. I would do anything for her, and I bring that same level of love and dedication to every dog I care for. Whether I’m walking, sitting, or just spending time with them, your pup will receive my full attention, affection, and care. Most importantly, their safety and well-being are always my top priorities.
“Mary went above and beyond taking care of my two cats while I was gone for a full week. One of my cats had a few accidents while I was away and Mary when the extra mile, ensuring he was okay and cleaning up the area. She also was extremely communicative, sent plenty of pictures, and gave my cat so much love! I could not recommend her enough!”

“Mary was an excellent sitter! She was enthusiastic to work with a cat, which I found welcome on an otherwise dog-centric website. She was very aware of the proper way to interact with cats: during the meet-and-greet, she was not too forward. Then during the actual drop-in visits, Teddy loved her! Mary sent lots of pictures of Teddy playing, cuddling, and sitting on her lap. Mary is reliable, professional, responsive, and a really nice person! I highly recommend her!”

“Val was great!! Communicative and reliable — a true cat lover! We appreciated that she stayed to play with the cats for a while and didn’t just feed them and leave. ”
“Anna was great with my cat Zack!! She sent lots of photos to keep me updated, which I really appreciated. I could tell that he was really happy to have her checking in on him. Thanks so much Anna!”

“Samantha did a great job caring for my cat. I even screwed up the reservation and forgot to include several drop in visits while I was away. As soon as I fixed it she went over right away to check on my cat. She's very dependable and friendly. I will definitely book her again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New York City
Roxandra was a wonderful sitter for our cat Daphne. She was communicative throughout our trip and shared great photos of Daphne in the app. She even took care of a situation where our cat threw up during the day. We are very grateful to her - 5/5 stars!

Our cat is notoriously shy with new sitters, but Jaymi got him out from under the bed on the first day! She was also incredibly attentive to his eating patterns and made sure to check whether certain behaviors were just idiosyncratic or cause for concern. We were thrilled to see them become fast friends over the week we were gone and will definitely have Jaymi back soon.
Alex was wonderful with my two cats! Communication was excellent - she sent me lots of photos to keep me posted of how they were doing. They both seemed very happy and relaxed upon my return. She even vacuumed up the carpet a bit so the apartment was clean when I got home. Will definitely book her again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
