“Petros did everything I asked him to do for my cats. Amazing job 🙌🏽 He also did meet and greet beforehand to make sure that all goes well when I leave which is commendable. I will surely rebook him again.”

About: WashU ‘21 grad based in Tribeca. I’ve been dog sitting and fostering for a while now and have hosted dogs for stays up to a week. I’m reliable, attentive, and your dog will be well taken care of. Recently I fostered two chiweenies for over 3 months and had the best time! On weekends I’m available all day and can walk dogs whenever works best. During the week, I’m able to get walks in before 9am and am home by 5pm for the rest of the evening. I live in a studio apt but, I am able to take dogs on walks whenever needed. I love walking to the west side highway dog park.
About: I’ve been a dog owner for over 10 years, and caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. Over the years, I’ve also helped watch and walk many of the neighborhood dogs, which gave me experience with different breeds, sizes, and personalities. Whether it’s puppies full of energy or senior dogs who need a little extra patience, I know how to adjust to each dog’s needs. I also have a passion for staying active — I love running and walking — so I can make sure your dog gets the right amount of exercise, whether that’s a long jog or a leisurely stroll. More than anything, I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. I’m currently a freshman at Pace. I have a very flexible schedule with many openings for walks throughout the day during the week. Please reach out if you have any questions! Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first with me. Since I won’t be hosting pets in my own home, I focus on providing reliable care in your pet’s familiar environment, where they feel most secure. I’m attentive on every walk, always keeping an eye on surroundings, using secure leashes, and making sure your pet stays safe near traffic, other dogs, and new environments. I also follow your specific routines and instructions carefully — whether that’s feeding schedules, medications, or special needs — so your pet feels comfortable and cared for at all times.

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life. I grew up with my mini schnauzer, Chiky, who I had for 11 years and took care of from a young age. She was truly my best friend, and growing up with her taught me just how important dogs are in our lives, how much genuine, selfless love they give, and how much care and attention they need in return. I currently work a hybrid part-time job, so I’m home most of the time. Occasionally I have to go into the office, but it’s very close to home, so I’m still nearby and readily available. I’m flexible during the week for walks, drop-ins, and sitting, and I’m fully available on weekends! I live in a top-floor apartment that’s very homey and cozy, with lots of natural light from skylights. While I don’t have a yard or balcony, I make sure dogs get the exercise and care they need through walks and playtime.
“Elisabeth took such great care of my dog, Meadow, while I was away for the weekend. I was able to enjoy my trip not having to worry and knowing she would show her lots of love. She gave great pictures and notes as well.”

About: My family always had dogs growing up so I have a lot of experience with dogs of various temperaments, sizes, and needs. At one point we had one big dog and two little dogs who didn’t get along so I am also familiar with taking care of dogs who don’t get along and how to keep them separated if needed. I have also lived with and elderly cat and a small kitten so I am familiar with cat care as well! I am in nursing school full time Tuesday-Thursday but can take care of your pets before/after classes as well as my days off. Open to overnight care as well as drop ins for walks, pets, and feeding. I will take care of your animals as if they were my own. Let me know of any special instructions and I will be sure to follow them. Excited to meet your pets!
About: Hi! I came across Rover and loved the idea of being a sitter and walker. I understand how important your pets are to you. I have a dog myself and love her so much. I am reliable and great with animals. I have been a walker and sitter for my friends and family. I am very flexible with my schedule and love going on walks with dogs. I’ve been around pets my entire life and enjoy spending time with animals. I have experience with a variety of breeds. For example, I have a cockapoo and my aunt has a chihuahua. Overall, I greatly appreciate animals and would love walking your dog b/c dogs are the cutest beings! I am currently free in the mornings and evenings. I am pretty flexible with the scheduling. I would love to help out as best as I can, I love working weekends! My dog is pee wee pad trained so she’s able to use the pad whenever and I’ll clean up the pad and change it after use. For my clients, it usual varies how each pet is taken care of but I’m open to following the pets usual routine to maintain a comfortable and safe environment.
“Rosanna was so lovely with my cat -- she even treated him to extra love and goodies on his birthday! She was very responsive and generous with the photos, videos and notes while I was away, and I really felt my cat was in excellent hands with her. We both adore her and would recommend her 100%!”

“Vanessa is absolutely amazing. She has cared for my two cats multiple times. She’s attentive, thorough, and caring. When one of my cats got sick while she was watching him, she kept me updated comprehensively. I am very appreciative of her - hard to find a cat sitter this great!”

“We got lots of updates and it seems like our kitties were well taken care of. Sophia’s also very good with communication so we felt safe + happy for our cats to be in her care!”

“Mary went above and beyond taking care of my two cats while I was gone for a full week. One of my cats had a few accidents while I was away and Mary when the extra mile, ensuring he was okay and cleaning up the area. “Mariele truly went above and beyond in every way!! She kept us updated throughout the day with the sweetest, funniest, and most detailed notes and photos. Our kitties were clearly well taken care of, played with, and given so much love while we were away. So much so that we think they missed Mariele for a while after our return, haha! We are so thankful to have found her, and look forward to the next booking. She is wonderful!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New York City
Our cat doesn't like being left alone for prolonged periods of time. Kaitlyn not only took care of our little dude, she was practically adopted into his family. We really appreciated the observations Kaitlyn was making along the way and how she kept the communication going. Totally recommended!
I seriously cannot recommend Victoria enough. I’ve used her multiple times now and she has been amazing every single time. She is so reliable, accommodating, and genuinely so good with my babies. She’s helped me out with last-minute emergencies, watched them while I was away getting married, and most recently took care of them throughout my honeymoon. I’m definitely an anxious cat mom and she always makes me feel completely comfortable and reassured. She’s communicative, dependable, and clearly really cares about the animals she watches. I trust her completely, which is honestly the biggest thing for me. She is hands down the best pet sitter I’ve ever had and I feel so lucky I found her.

Amazing! Xinyu went above and beyond, as always! So grateful to know my cat is in good hands with her. She was responsive and communicative, took pictures, spent time petting my cat, and my place was clean and tidy when I got home. Can't recommend highly enough!

We trusted Sana with a two week job watching our cats and glad we did! She was highly communicative and sent plenty of videos and photos to help keep us in touch with our pets. She also spent plenty of time playing with the cats which I know they enjoyed. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
