About: I've grown up with dogs, and I hope it's only right that I continue to share my love for them in adulthood. I'm beyond grateful for the trust my friends and family have put in me to care for, walk, and train their dogs for the last couple of years. I hope to get to share my love for your furry friend next! As a full-time student it's difficult for me to find a job that fits into my busy schedule. School can be stressful and tiring, but I always found being with pets keeps my energy alive. I believe it's important to get to know a pet to satisfy their needs including: needing to go outside, feeling anxious, hungry, etc. I pay very close attention to the behavior of my pets to ensure their quality of life is at its highest with me.
“Britni is fantastic!! We had a travel issue and ended up getting home from a trip much later than anticipated and she was able to come at the last minute and walk our dog Luna and feed her dinner and hang out with her for a few hours. Luna can be a little shy, but seems to have warmed up to Britni pretty quickly. Highly recommend her!”

“I had a great experience with Anne-Charlotte and highly recommend her. She was fantastic with my puppy and followed all of the care guidelines I provided. She was also very communicative throughout the stay, sending updates and making me feel confident that my puppy was in good hands. What really stood out was how much she helped with potty training. It had taken me—and even other sitters—quite a while to make progress, but Anne-Charlotte was clearly experienced. Overall, Anne-Charlotte was responsible, attentive, and genuinely great with my dog. I would absolutely book with her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter.”

About: Hello my name is Chris born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. In my lifetime I have personally raised two dogs, and cared for many others. When I was 10 years old I met my shihtzu puppy named, Coco, and 7 years ago a rescued off the streets a cockerspaniel whom I named Jeter because he loves to play ball. As a fellow dog owner I understand they too are members of the family and my services are specifically designed to cater their needs with safety first always in mind. My motto always is "The customer is always right". You and your pup are my customers and my goal is to leave you satisfied. I hope you choose me to walk and spend time with your four-legged family members. Thank-You for the opportunity to be your pup's companion!
About: I’ve taken care of all sorts of animals my entire life. Back home in Ohio, I’ve had 7 cats, 2 dogs, a horse, a chinchilla, and a bearded dragon. I’ve dog sat for rescues and I’m also good with dogs that have walking/pulling troubles. Happy to feed some fish too if needed! I’ve just graduated and my schedule differs by the day, so I’m looking at getting back in to pet care! It’s been awhile because I’ve been finishing up my degree, but I’ve already done some pet sitting while in school, so I know that I am able to work with my time well and can manage any job/needs with clear communication now that I’m out of school. Long story short - I’ll make time for you and your pets! I’m sensitive to each pet’s individual needs. Each dog is different and unique, and I prioritize getting to know their personality. I also have experience calming pet anxiety and managing unpredictable rescues.

About: I’m a dependable, Part time college student and caring pet sitter who loves working with animals. I have experience helping friends and family care for their pets, including feeding, playtime, and basic routines. I am constantly around animals and having to commit myself to taking care of them. I am comfortable around all dogs and am willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your animal. When I come to take care of, play with, and walk your dogs I will dedicate my time to loving them. I would love to be able to take them to the dog park where they can also interact with other animals while you're away! When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! I currently work part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule to care for your pets! I’m available on most weekdays after school and have more open availability on weekends. I can adjust my schedule when needed to make sure your pet gets consistent care, attention, and timely visits. I provide care in my client’s home to keep pets comfortable in their familiar environment. I always follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, routines, and any special care needs. I make sure pets feel safe, supervised, and well cared for, and I respect your home by keeping everything clean and secure.
About: Growing up I had two cats and took care of neighbors’ pets since I was 10. I currently help out with friends’ pets as well. I have had experience giving pets medications, caring for kittens and senior cats, and with small to medium dogs. I am available for house sitting, boarding, drop-in visits, and walks based on scheduling. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I make sure I set aside time to treat every pet as if they were my own! I have a studio apartment with lots of natural light and no other pets so your pet will be safe and have my full attention and care. I live close to Brookfield Place / West side highway where there are lots of parks and space for your dog to explore. When doing house calls I am always respectful and will send regular updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Christopher took great care of my cat during drop-in visits. He was prompt, communicative, and stayed the full duration. Would recommend him again!”

About: My house grew up with a lot of animals. Currently I have 2 dogs and 2 cats! We’ve also helped foster stray dogs and cats in our area and helped find them loving homes. I am well-versed with both dogs and cats! I’m currently a grad student around Midtown! I have a lot of flexibility. I spend most of my time taking care of my own cat and would love to spend time helping others! I really prioritize making pets feel safe and seen. I love playing with pets, petting them, and feeding them. Pets are just really easy to love honestly!

“Nathan did an amazing job taking care of my cat, Birdie, for a week! He was incredibly responsive and communicative throughout, and sent so many photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear Birdie was in great hands! Would absolutely book with him again & highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter!”

“This was my first sitting experience with Brian and my first with Rover. Everything went really smoothly and Brian did a great job especially having to hunt for the cat each visit - she is incredibly shy and does everything she can to avoid being seen. I appreciated that Brian kept his distance and visited her at the same time each day. As well as little extras like growing pet grass for her and straightening her bed. Would recommend and will be booking again!”

“Crystal was wonderful! She stayed with my dog Picasso for an extended visit and was so patient, kind, and communicative throughout. I ended up running about an hour late, and she graciously stayed the entire time to make sure Picasso wasn’t left alone, which I really appreciated, especially given his separation anxiety. I could tell she genuinely cared and handled everything with such calm and compassion. Would definitely book with her again!”

“Jessica has always taken good care of my cats! This time she noticed our water fountain wasn't working and made sure that my cats had water by leaving a bowl out for them. She has great attention to detail and always sends lovely photos.”

About: Bring on the Great Danes! My name is Eli, and I'm available for dogsitting, walking, and boarding all across the five boroughs. I am an exceptionally punctual and caring person, as well as very energetic and an avid pet lover. As a student and aspiring educator, dogwalking and sitting has proven to be an amazing way for me to supplement my income, and over the years, I have had the pleasure of caring for some of the sweetest dogs (and sneakiest cats) in the city. I look forward to helping you care for your furry family member! I currently work part time at a charter school in The Bronx, so I am generally available outside of 1-7pm M-Th and 10am-5pm on Fridays. I make sure to clean and dog proof my home in advance of any sitting situation, as well as make sure to maintain the home if I happen to be boarding. Avoid sharp objects, giving them human food, and make sure to spend as much time with them as possible.
“Cindy did a wonderful job in every way this past week with my 8-year-old cat, Adelia. I made some last minute changes to the service dates and also added some requests about checking on my broken air conditioner, and Cindy rolled with everything very accommodatingly. She sent great updates about Adelia on her visits, played with her and brushed her, and clearly took fantastic care of her all week. I highly recommend Cindy as a pet-sitter!”

“We had a great experience with Roger. Roger was very attentive to Lily. So glad he was able to make time on a holiday weekend to watch her. I highly recommend Roger and just hope he'll be available for future drop in needs.”

“I can tell from the photos my dog loved her! Sarah’s in-depth description of how her visit went with my dog is exactly what I needed to put my mind at peace and I will for sure be using her regularly 😊”

About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life. I grew up with my mini schnauzer, Chiky, who I had for 11 years and took care of from a young age. She was truly my best friend, and growing up with her taught me just how important dogs are in our lives, how much genuine, selfless love they give, and how much care and attention they need in return. I currently work a part-time job, which gives me flexibility during the week. I’m available 3 days on weekdays for walks, drop-ins, or sitting, and I’m fully available on weekends. I live in a top-floor apartment that’s very homey and cozy, with lots of natural light from skylights. While I don’t have a yard or balcony, I make sure dogs get the exercise and care they need through walks and playtime.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - New York City
Connie was super helpful, had great communication, and was prompt! She helped with my weird request to help with dog training my stranger danger dog while I was home. She was lovely and was willing to help us figure out how we can be successful in managing our dogs stress, and was willing to let us use her as a guinea pig to see what would be successful to help our fur baby! Appreciate her willingness to use Madonna’s stinky treats to motivate her :)

Alena was amazing with Binx, she shared a lot of photos and I’m sure Binx loved having her company. Alena also really helped me out because I did a last minute booking. She is professional, punctual, and a real animal whisperer. I will definitely be booking her again!

Eva and Tyler were so helpful in dropping in on Gweni. They were super communicative and made sure they covered all the little pieces of care that were needed during the visit, including a quick potty break, putting down water, feeding dinner, and giving an antibiotic. Thank you again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
