Pet care experience

A doggy & kitty mom—animal lover

I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, hamsters, bunnies, fish, and even turtles, so caring for animals has always felt natural to me. Nothing makes me happier than watching a shy pet warm up and become my little friend. In my free time, I love caring for different animals on Rover and spending time with my own dog and cat. I’m patient, attentive, and respectful, and I always treat every pet as if they were my own. I’ve looked after friends’ pets for years, so I understand how important it is for owners to feel confident that their animals are safe, happy, and loved. I raised and trained my puppy on my own—including litter training her, which always surprises people! I enjoy learning about pet behavior and care through books, documentaries, conversations with veterinarians, and meeting other pet parents. When my pets have been sick, I’ve seen firsthand how much extra attention they need, and I’m always committed to giving that level of care. My pets are truly my family. Being away from them is hard, but helping other animals brings me so much joy. I take my dog almost everywhere—stores, farmers markets, ski trips, even camping—to help her socialize and explore the world. If you’re comfortable and your pets are well-mannered in public, I’d be happy to include them in our outings too. For any first-time booking, I love doing a quick meet & greet so your pet can get comfortable with me and the environment. For boarding, I usually recommend a short trial first (a daycare trial or one-night stay) before longer trips. I would love the opportunity to care for your pets and make them feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away.

Suki was an awesome pet sitter! We loved all her pics and videos. Charlie must’ve liked her a lot since he gave her lots of purrs and cuddles! We would love to hire her again next time we are out of town. :)

Suki did a wonderful job taking care of my two cats when I was out of town! She sent me very detailed and thorough updates, lots of pictures and videos, and made sure and regularly check-in if anything seemed off to get my view. It felt almost like I was there with them!!

Suki was amazing! This was our first time ever leaving our cats, Parker and Eva, so we were pretty nervous, but she made the whole experience so much easier. She followed all of our care instructions perfectly, spent time playing with the girls, and sent so many pictures and updates throughout each visit, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was obvious that she genuinely cared about them and took the time to make sure they were happy and comfortable while we were away. We came home to two very well cared for (and very happy!) cats. We would absolutely book Suki again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring cat sitter!

Suki is the best! She did the best job with our cats, who are pretty rowdy and need tons of attention! So happy we found her!

This was Suki's second time taking care of Pawdrie and Mimi, and they like her a lot. They're very comfortable around her and excited to play with her. She takes great pictures of their visits.

Schedule

I currently work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule for pet care. I’m a planner by nature and like to map out my week in advance, so booking at least a week ahead is ideal. That said, if you ever need help and I’m available, I’ll always do my best to be there for you and your pets.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a pet-friendly apartment close to the park. I’m very neat and keep my home clean, organized, and pet-safe—wires tucked away, no dangerous items left out, and plenty of cozy, calm spaces to relax. Our pets live crate-free day to day, are allowed on the couch, and often sleep with us. I do believe crates can be helpful in early training, but once a pet has good habits and feels secure, I’m happy to let them enjoy more freedom. I know every pet and household has different rules—no couch, specific feeding routines, or other preferences—and I’m more than happy to follow your guidelines so your pet’s routine stays consistent and comfortable.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day includes walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. For dogs, that might mean walks to or around the park, playing fetch, tug-of-war, or just sniffing and exploring. For cats, I love using wand toys, interactive play, and creating cozy spots for napping and people-watching. When appropriate and if you’re comfortable with it, I also enjoy bringing dogs along to pet-friendly places like outdoor cafés or visits with friends so they can socialize and experience new environments.

I really appreciate detailed instructions—everything from feeding schedules and potty routines to favorite toys, quirks, and house rules. It’s especially helpful to know: -Any medical conditions, medications, or past injuries -Behavioral notes (anxiety, reactivity, fears, triggers) -How they do with other dogs, cats, and people For first-time bookings, I also really prefer doing a quick meet & greet. It helps me get to know your pet’s personality, make sure everyone feels comfortable, and go over the routine together. For boarding, I strongly recommend a short trial first (daycare or one night) before a longer stay—it usually makes the real trip much smoother for your pup. I have experience caring for pets who aren’t feeling well and understand how important routine, patience, and regular updates are. I’m happy to send photos, videos, and check-ins so you always know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
