Hi! I’m Monika, a lifelong animal lover, experienced cat owner, photographer, and reliable pet caregiver based in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. For the past two years I’ve been raising my British Shorthair cat, Xerneas, and caring for her has taught me how important patience, routine, trust, and attention to detail are when it comes to animals. I understand that every pet has their own personality, boundaries, and comfort level, and I always try to create a calm and reassuring environment for them. I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs (I’ve had two dogs and a cat when growing up; they all grew old with my family), and I’m available for cat sitting, dog walking, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, companionship, and general pet care. I’ve leash trained my own cat Xerneas and can offer guidance for cat owners interested in safely introducing harnesses or supervised outdoor walks. As a bonus, I have a background in photography and love capturing little candid moments during visits or walks, so I’ll provide photo updates while you’re away. And if you’d like, I’d also be happy to take some more polished portraits of your pets upon additional arrangement between us. I know trusting someone with your animals is a big deal, and I’ll always treat your pets with the same care and attention I give my own. I’m also a huge plant lover and experienced plant caretaker. Before I got my cat, my plants were my pets. I have many plants at home, including rare ones, and even raised a Monstera Albo from a wet stick. Therefore for longer trips, I’m happy to help with plant care alongside pet visits.

Safety, trust & environment
I always prioritize pets’ safety, comfort, routines, and stress levels. In clients’ homes, I carefully follow feeding instructions, walking routines, medication needs, and household rules. I carry a pet first aid kit to all of my appointments in case of emergency. I’m respectful of clients’ spaces, keep environments clean, and provide regular updates and photos during visits or walks. My goal is to create a calm, trustworthy experience for both pets and their owners.

Monika is an excellent cat sitter. She took extra time to meet and greet with us and our baby, asked lots of valuable questions about his normal routine and care, and was very good at communicating during visits.
We couldn't be happier with Monika. She is incredibly conscientious, reliable, and thoughtful. She followed our somewhat complicated feeding instructions perfectly and so we came home to healthy cats. She was even able to snap a few pics of our terribly shy cats who always hides from sitters. We would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate pet sitter. She is truly exceptional.

I currently have a flexible schedule and am available for daytime, evening, and weekend visits depending on your needs. I’m also happy to accommodate recurring bookings.
