“Rebecca took great care of my cat, Lulu, while I was away. She was communicative, shared daily updates with photos, and followed feeding instructions well. I appreciated her help and would book her again.”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 9 years old, between dog walking in my neighborhood and owning family pets and then my own cats in college I miss having animals around. I absolutely love both dogs and cats and stop any time I can to say hi to animals on my walks. I take daily walks anyway and this way I can make sure your pets gets the exercise they need and I can get the stress relief that animals bring! I do work a full time job with quite normal hours but I also have telework days throughout the week. I am completely open on the weekends and open in the evenings. I am open to early morning walks prior to work and walks in the evening when I come home as early at 5:30pm. It is important to set boundaries of what is important for you and your pets. I like to meet the animal(s) prior to the first walk/drop in just to make sure everyone is comfortable. We will make sure to set very clear instructions for both parties to make this as smooth as possible!
“I’m very glad to have found Rachel! She’s incredibly detail-oriented and caring. She paid great attention to my cat’s needs and made sure everything was perfect. She’s also very thoughtful and spent time playing with my cat, which made him so happy. I really appreciate her genuine care and communication throughout the stay!”

“Susanna is an incredible sitter and was able to come in on time to check on our cat, Mila. She is very detailed with her visits and ensures Mila is a happy camper while we’re away. Thank you!!”

“Javier took great care of my cat for two weeks and was always kind, reliable, and responsible. I truly appreciate his dedication and would definitely ask for his help again. Highly recommended.”

About: I don’t just watch pets but I truly bond with them! I’ve had my own cats for years and have been the trusted dog sitter for my family and friends since college, so I’ve seen it all and loved every minute of it. I’ll make sure to send you plenty of photos so you can see exactly how much fun they're having. My goal is to make sure your furry babies feel safe, happy, and totally spoiled while you’re away! I have flexible in office days but typically go in on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I will be home all day Monday and Friday as I usually don’t make plans during the week. I’m mostly home over the weekend if I don’t make plans. I make sure to regularly update my availability to reflect my exact schedule, so you can always count on me being there when I say I will. My husband is also around most of times! Whether it’s a workday or the weekend, your pet will have constant companionship and a steady routine. My priority is keeping your pet’s routine as normal as possible to keep them happy and stress free. In my home, your pet becomes part of the family, with plenty of cozy spots for naps, dedicated playtime, and a safe, supervised environment where they can feel right at home. Regardless of the setting, I make sure they get all the exercise, cuddles, and mental stimulation they need, topped off with daily updates to let you know how they’re doing. I live in a spacious 2 bedroom so your pet will have plenty of space to roam around as well. I would love to have a details and instructions as I know every pet is different and I’m very good at following the instructions!
“Katherine is an amazing sitter who will not only make sure your pet gets the same level of care, love, and attention that an owner typically provides, but also will send you a gallery of perfect pet photos! She’s a perfect pet sitter, and I highly recommend her!”

“Poornima took great care of our girl. She was timely and followed all of our instructions to a T. Riley was very excited to see her during each of her visits. We will absolutely be using her services again and highly recommend her.”

“I am so happy we found Candiance to check in on our doggy. She is so patient and understanding to our dog’s needs. She has great communication and it was easy for me to trust her to care for our dog.”

“5 stars isn’t enough!!!! Angela was so patient with my kitties and ME. This was my first time ever having to search for a pet sitter and I couldn’t have been luckier to find her. One of my cats has diabetes and requires a shot daily, Angela took her time with him and gave him extra pets before she left. Im so glad I found her!!!!”
“Aniko was so helpful on a busy marathon weekend- she was very flexible fitting in a drop in for us and made sure our pup was very well taken care of and safe. She is always communicative and professional! We highly recommend her care!”

“Melissa was fabulous. She was so easy to work with, understood our furrbies needs. There was one time Peanut made a mess and she cleaned up so nicely that I can’t even tell where was the spot when I return. I really appreciate the extra effort. She always showed up on time and very professional. Took lots of photos and videos for us when we were away for about 2 weeks. We felt at ease having her as our sitter. She caught some good pics of our kitties and kept us up-to-date. I will 100% be a recurring client of hers. Thank YOU Melissa!”

“She is absolutely the best! She was supposed to drop in for 30 minutes, but she spent several hours and even took my dog to the dog park because she knew I’m overwhelmed with the bar exam and moving🥹🥹🥹 I can’t thank her enough and highly recommend her.”

“Mariam is fantastic!!! I was on vacation for a week and came home to a happy, calm, and playful fur baby. My little kitty princess struggles with separation anxiety so it’s always tough when I’m gone for a few days, let alone a full week. Mariam worked her magic and my kitty did great. I highly recommend her!”

“Both of my pets cat and the hamster look great upon our return home (8 days away). Mari took great care of them, plus was able to make friends with extremely shy cat.. usually he won’t eat when we were away. This time seems that he gained weight and his coat is shiny . Two times per day I had detailed updates about how my pets are doing.”

“Jack was fantastic! Visited our cats twice per day every day right on time and left nice notes each time. Remembered to give them their dental medicine every other day as well and after his last visit he kept our key fob until we got home just in case our flight got delayed or canceled and we needed him to visit them again. I hadn’t even thought of that possibility myself so I appreciate him thinking about that!”

“Daisy was absolutely phenomenal! She took such great care of my cat. She always kept me up to date when coming, took loads of photos, left everything so tidy, and gave my cat lots of love. My cat is quite old and needs meds, she did a great job with that too!”

“Always great to have Daniela visit our two cats, who love to see her. She provides them their ‘evening’ treats and spends time to love them up when we are away. It’s a great comfort to have Dani visit and ensure all is well when we are away.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Weehawken
We’ve trusted her to care for our cat for several years, and we couldn’t be happier. Our cat is extremely shy and usually takes a long time to warm up to new people, but she has always been incredibly patient, gentle, and caring. She took the time to earn his trust and made sure he felt safe and comfortable while we were away. She is reliable, communicative, and clearly loves animals. Knowing our cat was in such capable and loving hands gave us complete peace of mind every time we traveled. We wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate cat sitter.

Jessica did an amazing job. Went above instructions and made sure my kitty was comfortable. Washed food bowls and changed water and litter daily. She even got her to come out from under the bed for treats. I am looking forward to rebooking her services again and again now that I know I have a trusted sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
