“Rachel has been our go-to pet sitter and she is really the best! One of our cats is very shy and usually hides from people but he really likes Rachel!!! We also very appreciate Rachel’s help clean the mess my cats create each time…Rachel sends a lot of photos and prepares very detailed Rover Card which we always look forward to reading when we are away. We are so grateful to have Rachel as our pet sitter and I’m sure the cats feel the same way!”

“Angela is amazing - super nice and easy to work with! She took the time to understand my cat’s needs, handled everything nicely, and sent me lots of photos of my cat.”

About: I've always been the type of person to greet every living thing with a waving hello to a cow, smiling at the turtles at the pond, and asking your pet's how their day has been. Since I've stared on Rover, I've had the pleasure of meeting many pets through repeated housesitting, and going out for walks. Every pet is unique with their own needs and wants. I'm attentive and pay close attention to any scheduled meal plans, checking in on their stool, and make sure everything is clean. If you ever have any concerns, I'm available to answer your questions :) At the moment I'm available at anytime, so any scheduled weekly routines or long periods of housesitting would work with me. If you have any trips coming up please let me know, I'll be happy to work with you. I see your pets as your family, so I care for them very dearly and make sure they have all the love and attention they need. I'm always taking notice if they want a treat, need a walk, or want some social times with other dogs their size. If they simply need company, I'll make sure they have everything they need, and create a nice, warm, relaxing vibe for them where they feel comfortable. Depending on how you like things to be done, I would love to follow your lead with whatever makes you feel comfortable. I want you to know that you and your pet are in good hands.
“Melissa provided excellent care for my boy, Nori. Nori can be a bit mean to strangers but she was still attentive and made sure he had all that he needed. I highly recommend her.”

“Mari has lovely warm and calm energy that is great for my cat Charlie - and was super communicative with updates while she was catsitting. Thank you so much Mari!”

“She is absolutely the best! She was supposed to drop in for 30 minutes, but she spent several hours and even took my dog to the dog park because she knew I’m overwhelmed with the bar exam and moving🥹🥹🥹 I can’t thank her enough and highly recommend her.”

“Randi was great! She Took care of our two cats while we were out of town for the week. She made sure to take photos and keep us updated with how they were doing the whole time!”

About: Experience walking and caring for dogs and cats. I have fostered several animals throughout college and have trained dogs of all ages. My own pet is AKC Caine Good Citizen Certified and I have a research background in dog Vet Care and can make adjustments to care based on breed and any current health issues. I make time to take my own pet out on adventures and I'd love to be able to take yours out for some fun as well! I'm vigilant of potential dangers with care for a pet outside of their home. I take notice of areas/ other pets to avoid and will physically step in to protect your pets boundaries.
“I completely trust Calvin to look after my two cats while I’m away. I always come back to find them happy and well cared for. He responds quickly and scheduling a visit with him is always easy. I really appreciate his help taking care of my cats.”

“Alena was simply amazing with my cat Athena. She took care of her for over a week and always made sure she was happy and well cared for. After every drop-in, she would let me know how everything went, send me amazing pictures, and provide a detailed update. You can tell Alena truly loves animals. She’s caring, polite, and incredibly attentive. I felt completely at ease knowing Athena was in such good hands. I would definitely recommend Alena to anyone looking for a wonderful and reliable pet sitter. Thank you so much, Alena!”

“Javier took great care of my cat for two weeks and was always kind, reliable, and responsible. I truly appreciate his dedication and would definitely ask for his help again. Highly recommended.”

“Lana was a loving mom to our cat Aeva! Lana not only gave food and cleaned poop, she played and spoilt Aeva until she purred contentedly... Lana even visited her twice on a day where she had a family event and is not business minded whatsoever!”

“I am so happy we found Candiance to check in on our doggy. She is so patient and understanding to our dog’s needs. She has great communication and it was easy for me to trust her to care for our dog.”

About: 🐾 Pet Care Experience Hi! My name is Jesse, I’m 28, and animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. ❤️ I’ve been surrounded by and caring for various animals throughout my 28 years of being alive coupled with 15+ years of hands-on pet care experience through pet sitting, walking, fostering, and caring for fur children of my own. My experience comes from pet sitting and walking for friends and family, previous fostering, and having fur children of my own. I truly believe pets aren’t just pets — they are our babies and part of our family. 🐾💜 I understand that every animal is different, with their own personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet is playful and energetic, shy and needs extra patience, has additional needs, or simply wants to relax and be spoiled — that’s exactly what they will get! I make it a priority to take the time to ensure every pet feels safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for, while also following their individual routines and needs as closely as possible. Making your pet a priority is my priority. 💜 My goal is for every furry guest to feel right at home and go home just as happy as when they arrived. After all, their happiness is my happiness! 😊 I look forward to welcoming your pet as a new addition to my large fur family! While they’re in my care, they’re not just a guest — they’re family to me, too. 🐾💜 🦟 Flea & Tick Prevention Policy For the health, safety, and comfort of every pet in my care, I require all dogs staying for boarding or daycare to be actively receiving flea and tick prevention. Prior to confirming a new booking, I may request verification of current prevention, such as a recent veterinary record, medication receipt, or photo of the current preventative product. This policy helps maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for every animal staying in my home. Since pets share the same environment, preventing the spread of fleas and ticks is an important part of keeping everyone healthy and comfortable. My number one priority is making sure every animal in my care feels safe, loved, comfortable, and genuinely well cared for throughout their stay. ❤️ Thank you for understanding and helping me maintain a safe and healthy environment for all of my furry guests! 🐾💜 Pet care is my full-time commitment and my full time job, so I’m able to offer flexibility when it comes to your schedule and your pet’s individual needs. 🩷 It’s truly an honor and privilege to spend my time caring for animals. Taking care of your fur babies is not just my job — it’s genuinely what I love to do and how I choose to spend my time. I always do my best to make time for you and your precious babies, whether they need walks, playtime, companionship, or simply someone to be there for them. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care while making your pet feel comfortable, happy, and right at home. 🐾💗 When caring for your pets, I believe being attentive, thorough, and dependable is incredibly important. I carefully follow your instructions, pay close attention to your pet’s behavior and body language, and make their safety, comfort, and individual needs my top priority. For pets staying in my home, I have plenty of space, toys, and extra rooms where your fur baby can have their own quiet space if they want it. At the same time, my home is their home while they’re here — they’re welcome to relax wherever they’re comfortable and cozy up wherever they please. 🐾💜 I also love taking dogs out for walks, park trips, and even little doggy picnics! During warmer weather, I’m especially mindful of the heat and adjust accordingly, choosing shorter, more frequent walks and making sure your pup stays comfortable and safe. For my feline guests, I’m perfectly happy with a respectful “stare at each other from a distance” relationship 😂 — unless they decide they want cuddles! Then my lap, furniture, or any high-up ledge becomes their personal throne. 🐈💜 Most importantly, I want every pet to be treated like they’re my own and for their stay to feel more like a fun, relaxing vacation than time away from home. I’m always happy to provide regular photos, videos, updates, and even FaceTime so you can stay connected with your fur baby while they’re with me. 🩵 I’m also experienced with administering medication to both cats and dogs when needed, and I have experience understanding animal body language, including through fostering animals who needed extra care and support while recovering or adjusting to a new environment. Experienced with: - 🐾 Special-needs cats & dogs - 🐾 Puppies & kittens - 🐾 Senior animals - 🐈 Cat-friendly pets - 🐾 Rescue animals & animals in training - 🐕 Big dogs - 💜 Pit bulls - 🐾 Caring for multiple dogs and/or cats at once - 💊 Medication administration I’m excited to provide your fur baby with a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable getaway while giving you peace of mind knowing they’re being treated like family. 🩵 Please feel free to ask me any questions before booking — your pet’s needs, safety, and comfort will always be my priority. 🦟 Flea & Tick Prevention Policy For the health, safety, and comfort of every pet in my care, I require all dogs staying for boarding or daycare to be actively receiving flea and tick prevention. Prior to confirming a new booking, I may request some form of verification of current prevention, such as a recent veterinary record, medication receipt, or photo of the current preventative product. This policy is in place as a preventative measure to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for every animal staying in my home. Because pets are sharing the same environment, preventing the spread of fleas and ticks is an important part of keeping everyone healthy and comfortable during their stay. My number one priority is making sure every animal in my care feels safe, loved, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their stay — and ultimately goes home just as happy, if not happier, than when they arrived. ❤️ Thank you so much for understanding and helping me maintain a safe and healthy environment for all of my furry guests! 🐾💜

About: I am very reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and flexible! I love dogs, but never had to chance to have one since I grew up with a mom being terrified of dogs. However, that didn't stop me from spending time with dogs and animals outside of my home. I have had some experience volunteering at the local animal shelter in college and have done multiple dog sittings for my friends and neighbors. I already enjoy walking around the city and would love to have your pupper around for additional company! I would love to have the opportunity to care for and provide some love to your pup and keep them happy! I am also currently a PAWS Volunteer in Philly for both cats and dogs. I also can petsit cats too! I will follow all instructions and will adhere to any specific requests you may have for your pet! If I am scheduled off that day, I have the entire day to take care of your pet. Whether it's stopping by the place to change your cat's litter, or walking your dog, I am pretty flexible on the days that I am available. Safety is my number one priority for your pet. I will make sure to adhere to any specific instructions you may have, whether it's keeping your dog away from other dogs, or ensuring your home is appropriately locked up after my visit.
About: I have experience with brachiocephalic breeds as I have three of my own! I have experience working as a Dog Handler at a popular doggy daycare who handled up to 30 dogs. I have experience with puppies and seniors with arthritis. I’m currently working full-time as a Medical Assistant at an Urgent Care and have a few days off during the week where I can fit walking your pup at a daily! I am very careful with anything that is laying out when it comes to my puppers especially living with two pugs who will eat anything and everything!
About: Hi! My name is Mark, and I'm currently a Master's student at Columbia University. I recently relocated to New York City and have been missing my cat, Zuko, and my dog, Jango, every day. I'm hoping to fill that pet-shaped void by caring for other people's furry family members through Rover! Dog Experience: I adopted my dog, Jango, about a year ago after fostering him through a local rescue organization. He was being fostered by my downstairs neighbor, and we formed an instant connection that quickly turned into a forever home. Like many young rescue dogs, Jango came with plenty of energy and a few mischievous habits—especially when it came to sniffing out unattended food (that's the Dachshund nose at work!). Since adopting him, I've invested countless hours into positive reinforcement training, consistency, and building good household manners. Friends and family have even commented on how much calmer and more well-behaved he's become. Because of that experience, I understand the importance of patience, routine, and prevention when caring for energetic dogs. I'm happy to reinforce the training and routines you're already using while providing your pup with plenty of exercise, attention, and love. Cat Experience: I adopted my cat, Zuko, when he was just 8 weeks old back in 2019 while I was in college. He's now a happy, healthy 6-year-old! As a first-time cat owner, I spent a lot of time researching feline nutrition, enrichment, and overall health to make sure he had the best care possible. Over the years, Zuko has had a few visits to the vet for urinary health concerns, so I've become familiar with recognizing early signs that something may be wrong and understand the importance of monitoring litter box habits. While he's now spoiled with an automatic litter box and feeder, I'm very comfortable caring for cats with traditional litter boxes, food and water bowls, and daily playtime and affection. I am currently a full-time Master's student at Columbia University on the Upper West Side, with classes Monday through Thursday. During the week, I'm available for evening walks, drop-in visits, or overnight house sitting after classes, and I'm happy to spend the rest of the evening keeping your pet company. My schedule is much more flexible from Friday through Sunday, allowing me to provide multiple walks, extended drop-in visits, or house sitting with full-time presence. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I'll make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you're away. I always strive to follow your pet's normal routine as closely as possible, so they feel safe, comfortable, and happy in their own environment. I pride myself on being adaptable. While I have extensive experience caring for my own pets, I've also looked after many friends' and family's cats and dogs. I understand that every pet has a unique personality, routine, and comfort level, and that every owner has their own preferences for how their pet is cared for. I'm committed to following your pet's routine as closely as possible, whether that's feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, or simply giving them the type of attention they enjoy most. Before each booking, I'm happy to discuss your pet's specific needs and your expectations so we can ensure a smooth, stress-free transition while you're away. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and comfortable—and to give you complete peace of mind.

Carly took excellent care of Toastie, and Toastie loved the meet-and-greet and drop-in visits. Carly is responsible and attentive. Finding someone you trust to come into your home to care for your pet is invaluable. We absolutely will book Carly again when we need Toastie care in NYC.

Jenny was great & we will absolutely be using her again. She took such great care of our cat Hopper while we were gone (she even put on cat TV for him because he would cry when she left). She was communicative and thorough giving us great recaps and photos for every visit! She went above and beyond!

Lindsay took such amazing care of our 2 cats! She sent regular updates and lots of photos that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our cats usually take a while to warm up to people, but they felt comfortable with Lindsay more quickly than ever. Lindsay is extremely communicative and responsive and we really appreciated her coming over to meet our cats before caring for them for the first time. Would absolutely recommend Lindsay to anyone!

Monica did a great job taking care of our cats! She took care to follow all our instructions and give all our cats plenty of love, attention, and play time. She was timely and sent good follow up notes every time. Even our crankiest cat warmed up to her by the end. And we came back to a clean house at the end of our travels, which was much appreciated. We’d definitely book with Monica again.

Our 4 year old Samoyed took to Laura right away! She is very punctual, professional, and communicative. We had peace of mind knowing our pup was in her care and she was very attentive to our pup’s needs including her routine, keeping her cool and hydrated during a heat wave, and prioritizing her safety in the yard. We will definitely book Laura again!

Leila has cared for our cats multiple times now and she always goes above and beyond. She is reliable and communicative which makes all the difference for me. This trip I messaged her late about a food level notification and she was there bright and early to refill and feed them. I appreciate her commitment. Thanks Leila!

Micaela took amazing care of our cat, Snips! We booked 5 daily visits to help keep our cat on a normal routine and Micaela went above and beyond with her level of care while in our home. She spent lots of time playing with Snips, scooped her litter, checked the food bowls, and even checked areas of concern we mentioned. I highly recommend Micaela for you cat sitting needs; we will be booking repeatedly with her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
